As of ep 8 I can hardly believe I'm still watching this. Usually I drop a drama which leans so heavily on lies,…
Your comment made me remember the drama "secret life of my secretary". It was heavy on lies that I was surprised myself enjoying it π in dynamite kiss, i am also equally frustrated and been kicking for the lie to end.
Ha Yeong is such a sweet girl and she definitely deserves a better man than that SML guy. Heβs justβ¦ ughhhhhhh…
They should have not made the love triangle because as HaYeong saw in the portrait of the ex wife, she was greatly loved. So Seon U would have been a great lover :) and we can be rest assured that Ha Yeong would be the recepient of it :)
If you understand them loving the game, more than their family, you'll understand their decisions. And that common ground led them to foolish decisions. Asuka said, it is an annoying game, a world that pissed her off so much, yet she genuinely enjoys it. I think it shows how one thing can destroy us, obsessing, failing, succeeding, being single minded, and leaving important things behind. That was what it takes to be the best in shogi. It was a lifestyle that takes away everything except the game itself.
Asuka, on the other hand, used all of those - rage, her mentor, her being a female, her family - she did not push them away, but used those as a stepping stone. At the end, she gained being a kishi, maybe mended her relationship with her father, and gained her step mother's support.
It was not about abolishing shogi, it was about asuka raising to the top in contrast to the older generation way of becoming a kishi and the women who wanted to be the first female kishi. :)
The execution and how it was made were a masterpiece. Thank you for this. Hats off to the people behind this.
2nd couple here and there are also the same :)
I cannot rememeber what he said word for word, but it was in those line.
