What? What? What? How is this a show? This sounds incredibly weird. But I can't help but be intrigued

This was an okay watch, nothing bad but nothing special either. I hope the next drama with Seo In Guk is better,…
This comment is daebak in retrospect as his next two dramas were The King's Face and I Remember You. A historical drama and an action thriller...lol

I'm 6 episodes into this now, and I have to say, this show is delightful. Entertaining, sweet and funning. I was really worried when I watched the first episode that that MFC would ruin the experience for me, but she's really growing on me. Admittedly her scenes with the second lead in that episode are really hard to watch. Especially if you have an "embarrassment trigger". However, I really appreciate the fact that the writers have committed to the female lead's quirky, socially awkward demeanor and they don't seem like they're about to radically and unbelievably make her over in order to make her attractive to the male leads. She has to be loved for who she is , and the audience is intended to go along on that ride with the love interests and get to know her through the course of the story. That's a really refreshing approach. The rest of the cast is fabulous, absolutely loving Seo In Guk in an energetic, comedic role as I've only seen him previously in I Remember You and Master's Sun and his characters in both are more sedate and internal. Again, I'm still pretty early on so I hope the quality remains this high.

Just started this and after ep 1 .....my views are there is so much ham and cheese you could open a sandwich shop....not…
I'm sincerely hoping that they are building up this massive dissaster that has been the first half of the show (seriously, nothing is going well for anybody) because they have a very well planned out conclusioin. I am only on episode 9, but so far there has been a lot of terrible decision making and I'm having a hard time sympathizing with the male lead. Really hoping he steps up his game in the second half.

This show is a hot mess. I'm watching it with a friend, and we're in it for Lee Soo Hyuk and the Gwi character. He's massively hot and interesting, but the rest of the characters feel very inconsistently written. I like the actors, I just don't think the script is very good. But as a previous commenter said, this is a guilty pleasure show, and it does improve after episode one.

I have so many mixed feelings about this so far, I worry for the ending. This show started off with sooo much…
Well, when it comes down to it, if it doesn't work for you that's going to be the main thing. To a great extent this type of show is going to come down to matters of taste. I think since my expectations were shaped a bit more by American police procedurals and not kdramas, it's working for me when it may not be working for you. I definitely see your point.

Title Hello Monster Spoiler
I have so many mixed feelings about this so far, I worry for the ending. This show started off with sooo much…
I really don't think the "reveals" should be thought of as "reveals" in the usual sense that dramas do them. I was pretty confident I knew who everone was within the first several episodes and except for recent surpises in episodes 13 and 14, I was pretty much right. I think this show is going for the Alfred Hitchcock style of suspense, where everybody in the audience knows what's going on and it adds to the tension because you don't know how the situation is going to resolve. If you look at that conversation at the end of episode 14 between Hyeon and LJY, you note that he said he had 99% confirmation but he wouldn't say LJY's name until he could clear up that 1%. I don't think the reveals are about telling our main character things he doesn't know, they're about confirming for him things he really doesn't want to be true. Like when he was 99% sure Attorney Jeong was his brother, but he had to actually look at the picture of him before he could remove that 1% doubt and be honest with himself about it.
Ji An, when she was finally given basic information figured out who everybody was within one episode. It's not that difficult when you have the pieces, what is difficult is coming to grips with the situation and knowing the right thing to do when everyone in the show is emotionally compromised.

Isn't that summary bizarre? I'm sure it will make more sense in context...

Actually, when amnesia was used in Queen In Hyun's Man, it was frustrating, but it made sense in the plot, and…
I agree about Queen In Hyun's Man. Similarly to Master's Sun, I tend to be a lot more forgiving of amnesia in fantasy plots where there is a reasonable magical explanation. In this case time travel nonsense is a pretty good excuse for Amnesia, and Queen In Hyun's Man handled it pretty well.

I honestly didn't mind the amnesia plot in Master's Sun. I loved Master's Sun, so there might be a bit of bias here, but trust me, I was ready to start throwing furniture at the TV when I realized they were doing amnesia, but once it started to play out I actually really liked it. It was used to give our female lead a needed dose of character development that carried through to the end of the show, and it was actually hilarious watching our male lead harrass everyone in his life until he got his memories back. All of that coupled with the fact that there was a magical rather than medical explanation for it, made it work for me, when most amnesia plots do not.
