Oooh, I would love to see Im Su Jeong in something new. She and Yoo Ah In seem like they could be really well suited to each other if the script is good.
Umm it's clearly the one who played as young Ra On is a boy right? So I don't understand, is Ra On actually a…
Are you talking about the flashbacks with her dressing up as a girl? Or are you talking about the flashbacks with the mother playing in the rain etc? Because the latter is the prince.
Is this drama episodic as in is there every week a new 'bad guy' to catch? Or is there just one storyline?
There are individual "bad guys" they are trying to con. But they are all connected to each other like a Russian nesting doll of greed. But the cons build in an episodic fashion with approx. 3 episode arcs per con starting at episode 3 after everything is set up.
I really hope they won't let this flop and suddenly find a "cure" to his disease. There's no cure, the…
It doesn't sound harsh. You're 100% right. If he somehow makes it out of this alive, it will feel like a huge cop out. They've established very clearly that he's terminal. The entire central conceit of the show is built around that fact. I don't mind if they make me cry as long as they don't pull some cheap trick at the end. That being said, I generally trust this writer. I think she's go through with it.
There is a love triangle with Soo Hyuk's character. And it gets brought up on and off up through episode 14 at least, but it doesn't get a whole lot of attention.
Maybe they aged the character up for the drama version. I think he's 17 in the webtoon this is based on, but that doesn't mean he has to be 17 in the drama...right? I hope. Has anyone watched the first episode yet to confirm?
I've been waiting for this drama for so long and and now finally when it's airing I see so many negative comments…
There in lies the rub with big dramas with a lot of hype surrounding them. There's a bit of rushing to judgment going on in my opinion. While the show hasn't exactly knocked my socks off yet, it hasn't made any huge mistake either. So far I'm enjoying myself.
I'm assuming more flashbacks are to come? because it says they were lovers but going from ep 2 they barely knew…
I think from the preview it's going to pick back up with them in college, and that's where they get involved. Because, like you said, in high school they really weren't a couple. There was some individual but never mutual crushing first on her part and then on his, but nothing that you could consider a relationship.
I think part of the reason people are finding this boring off the bat is because it's a completely preproduced drama and if you're used to watching Kdramas then you have the expectation that they're going to throw all the informaiton for the set up at your in the first episode for fear of losing you. I think because it's preproduced and they are guaranteed adequate time to tell their planned story they are easing us into things. It's very gradual, but I don't think the pacing is bad. It's just not as breakneck as most dramas.
For the drama itself I think an extension is a terrible idea. There just doesn't seem to be enough substance there to justify another two episodes, so the pacing will probably suffer somewhat. That being said, I'm actually enjoying Entertainer and over the last few episodes I think the quality has improved considerably, so the effects of the extension might not be as bad as I fear. From SBS's standpoint, I get why they would do it.
