Man, was I the only person who was under the impression this was going to be in a historical setting? I guess I can buy that it's not but I thought it was an adaptation of a sageuk.

He declined the role, yes.
Yeah, I totally agree with you. Honestly Woo Do Hwan might be too young, but he lacks that innocence that Jin Goo has so I think he might be able to pull off a more adult role.

Title Hit the Top Spoiler
I really enjoyed the drama but unfortunately we still don’t know why Yoon Hyun disappeared in the year 1994…
The Hyun Jae from the original timeline had an illness that can be readily cured in 2017 but was considered terminal in 1994. Time traveler Hyun Jae came to the future before he was diagnosed and found out about it there, receiving treatment. When he traveled back in time and met the original Hyun Jae from 1994, it's indicated that in the original timeline Hyun Jae realized that he was dying and decided to disappear in a "cool" way. He was still a selfish person back then, and didn't think about what would happen to everyone if he did that. He basically went off into the sunset without ever telling anyone he was sick, so his friends and fans would always think of him as an icon and a star. Not having to see him sicken and eventually die, so he would always remain alive in peoples minds. Nobody knew what happened to him because he didn't want them to, but nobody is responsibly for his disappearance. Or rather, Hyun Jae was responsible for his own disappearance.

Can people stop spreading the myth that this was cut because of ratings? It was 12 episodes in the first place.…
It's the fault of a misunderstanding on the English language sites that had it set for 16 that caused the confusion (Dramabeans, Asianwiki and here on MDL all had it listed as 16) so when it got changed I think people just assumed it was cut short for ratings.

Is he a grandson of A Chaung?A grandson who they want to get out of their way aka boat hooded man?
That's what I'm getting out of Mal Ran's presence in that flashback scene. I'm guessing he's the son of her deceased husband (Boo Chun's dad, yeah?) and a mistress? It's kinda hard to tell what the family tree is right now.

I know Im so upset about this, I even upgraded to Viki pass and pay more now in order to watch the newest Korean…
I suspect there's some kind of technical issue going on. Because some people are seeing the video available and others are not. I've seen this issue not just with First Life, but with other dramas as well on Viki.

Sorry I ship Rin and Won more than Rin and San. I have zero second lead syndrome on this, even though they seem…
Yes, I see what you're saying. Doesn't look good from a friendship standpoint. Here's hoping for the best.

That seems a little contradictory, doesn't it? "Only in drama does stalker become love interest" was directed toward Rin, but then since he hasn't displayed stalkerish tendencies he isn't in love with her as much as Won? Rin is demonstrative in silent ways. By taking action. By coming to get her from her fathers house and trying to protect her from Jeon. From standing silently by her side and supporting her. That's why San is attracted to him. Because he is the strong silent type and he hasn't made any moves to attain her, which makes him more desirable. That's my opinion at least.

Rin follows San around because Won orders him to and on the crown prince's behalf. Of course you're entitled to your opinion, but I felt like Won displayed far more stalkerish behavior than Rin. Orchestrating the big lie about their identities so he could stay close to her, literally having his people follow her around and buy her things. Sending people to track her down. Being very clingy and possessive. For me at least, Rin doesn't exhibit any of those traits.

I've only watched two episodes so far, but somehow I am not sure I should continue. For some reason I really…
Ultimately it might not be your thing, but a lot of the focus of the drama is on Hyun Jae's character development. He does start out as a genuinely selfish and unlikable person and then he goes through character growth that changes him from the way he was in the past. I was on the same boat for the first part of the drama, where I didn't like the character even though I enjoyed YSY's performance, but the totally won me over by the end. Just my opinion though.

where are you watching this ?
It's on Dramafever on Monday and Tuesday, so a couple days after it actually airs in Korea. It's my understanding that it's available on Netflix in certain regions as well. That's for legal sources, at least.

Title Queen for Seven Days Spoiler
Who is the male main lead in this drama? I prefer Woo Jin as an actor, but I have a feeling he is the second lead?…
Hopefully you don't mind historical spoilers. I don't think he's the second lead. Because he plays the eventual King Jungjong, and I'm pretty sure the main love line is between him and Park Min Young, although the love line promises to be a tragic one.

This show pulled me out of my drama slump. In a year of fairly uninspired dramas so far this is the only one that's keeping me up night and making me anticipate it week to week. This and Tunnel are my favorite airing shows right now, but I would rec this one even over Tunnel

Does anyone else but me hope the killer isn't the medical examiner? I won't name the drama, but that's…
I was thinking the same thing about the drama that will not be named. Is the medical examiner going to be the new "butler did it" in Korean police procedurals? Lol. I hope it's not him. That would just be silly.
