I left a comment about the drama but it's a spoiler. if this's ur first historical kdrama I'd suggest others ones instead but this one wasn't bad but I do believe the top reviews rating it 9.5/10 are far fetched
smth definitely happened with the production in the second half of drama smth to do with the fl cuz she just disappeared in the most important time?? even when she reappears it doesn't feel she's a main cast anymore also I can tell when they used stand-ins and edited her parts.
I think it would've been better without the romance I'm sorry but that kiss scene was a bit awkward the way he grabs her head and smooched her face while she did nothing! lol at least move a bit closer?? the dude was struggling haha or prince milpoong's death scene PLS lol so many soldiers around the king but nooo gotta be miss fl pushing through a circle of royal soldiers to protect the king haha and after a whole year passes girl isn't even a concubine! honestly it would've been way better if she stayed in saheonbu. even tho I understand the historical bg I still felt a bit icky the ml is married but romance wasn't a big thing so it wasn't too bad. tbh I thought the girl from the very first part would be the fl, she's the nicest rival ever omg!
I liked the supporting roles esp prince milpoong and ji gwang's acting. I wish they focused on the saheonbu and not the palace in the 2nd half.. park moon soo and his shenanigans was way more interesting than whatever romance that was. even tho throughout the drama I kept wondering about milpoong's death note.. somewhere the directors forgot about it lol but overall somehow it was enjoyable I liked the lessons learnt and some had good character development like the noron leader.
at first it was a bit boring for me, that's why it stayed on hold for so long but a few eps in I enjoyed it I liked the motherly relationship and the connection between the past and present characters. ml and fl are likeable characters, I loved their relationship esp the way the ml respects fl's boundaries, it displayed how much he loved her. OST was so loud in parts I don't think it needed it, flashbacks were a bit too much in last ep.
Honestly, I didn't like it even though I watched it until episode 11. I mean how can she fall in love with that…
I was thinking the same! how could she choose the king over Shin Won?! someone who loved and respected her since ep 1 and fell for her twice! omg he was such ml material!
I can't continue this.. it was good at first then it became very predictable didn't feel the chemistry between fl and ml tbh imo it would've been way better if Shin Won was the ml
this drama has its flaws but I couldn't stop watching! I loved the characters esp Misil and Bidam I kept focusing on their expressions! the child actors were outstanding no wonder they're big names now in kdrama. this drama was a roller coaster of emotions.
simple yet intriguing story. starts dark but a very heartwarming ending. the romance is nice and refreshing, somehow they evaded the kdrama romance cliches in this one lol but my fav romance wasn't the leads story but the mom and dad's! the dad was soo nice and sweet
