After 4 episodes, it was pretty good, better than what I expected. The fights were indeed were choreographed well and there are quite many of them in the 4 episodes, it is definitely not slo mo and the overall wuxia picture is very good. It is really a classic wuxia - the story, cinematograohy, soundtrack..

Adult ML come out at the end of episode 4, but the boy who played Hu Fei was really good too, not only he can act alongside the many veterans but he can also fight.

I still recommend both dramas, they are both well done👍🏻

Drama adaptations often went through changes, so bekow only about the novel.

The novel is a classic Jin Yong novel and had its followers, but it is also not as popular or loved as the Condor trilogies(Legend of Condor Heroes, Return of Condor Heroes and Heavenly Sword and Dragon sabre), Demi Gods Semi Devils or The Smiling Proud Wanderer.

Whether it's good or bad up to interpretation, there are people who like it but some don't like because the martial arts is more realistic/simple/not so cool as the time setting is closer to modern times, and the overall story is quite sad toned.
