The martial aspect of Sword Snow Stride indeed is one of its weakest link, along with its slow pace and lack of cinematic visuals, and maybe the lead actress LGX.
If anyone looking for a good traditional wuxia in near future I think this one might be the best fit based on what has been seen and heard so far, bonus is the director has great cinematography and visual aesthetic, he loves to use real outdoor scenery. However personally other things considered I think overall SSS is still one of the better dramas out of many that comes out this year. Wang Juan script is still good, the actings are still decent to acceptable across the board, and the story is getting better.

It's ok to remake so that newer gen who can't stand old technology such as the dated video quality can get to know these classic literatures such as these Condor trilogies and Demi Gods Semi Devils. What they need to do is to make it good. Personally I think the latest LOCH(2017) and HSDS(2019) are pretty good, but at the same time I didn't enjoy DGSD(2021) and Deer and The Cauldron(2020). Now what's left out of JY top tier most popular work is only this one New ROCH, don't know why they are delaying the broadcast date.

ZRY is ok, usual himself so far. LGX is childish and has a routine pouting expression. ZTA look better in promo pictures than in dynamics, maybe director's fault and I can't feel her greatness in martial arts due to the bad action choreography.
