I have been the biggest fangirl of this drama since it started- giving it a straight 10 rating and all. However, I agree with everyone here that this should have ended by ep12 unless there was a substantial plot to carry this. Noble idiocy and families breaking people up is dated. If they just let Jun and Ra-Ra stay in the same setting and figure out their lives that would probably also be nice as we all liked it as a sweet heartwarming time. I haven't enjoyed the last 3 episodes.
Hindi slang for nonsense. There's too many Indians on the planet and at this point we're just assuming that anyone on the internet is probably Indian LOL
FuRong was such an ungrateful and hateful bitch to XuJin. I am sick of the trope of using the ML as pincushion. FL is literally sneaking out to meet another man again and again even after ML clearly said he isn't comfortable with it. Would it be okay if it was the other way around? No. Then she accuses him of murder and arson. Not once but TWICE! The entire time she care about other people and XJ is always in the background taking care of her. She shows no concern for her husband until he's dying/dead and she wants to die with him. Does she even love him? I'm really not convinced.
Side note: Although the second couple were a little cringe, their story was more convincing as two people who actually love each other. Since they're not the leads they didn't have an epic plot or cool scenes but at least one of them isn't constantly making life an absolute pain for the other.
Good series overall. First few episodes were definitely the best. Did not care much about the romance tbh. Lee Do Hyun's performance was definitely what made this stand out and be a great and entertaining watch.
I did not like the finale for a variety of reason but I've decided to just ignore it lol.
I'm 14 episodes in. It seems to be a fun prospect about a new business by rich kids. No romance yet. The chemistry between the leads seems very natural though, not exaggerated in any way. The characters seem a little too fake probably cause of the slow drawn-out nature of conversations and such. I'm not a fan of Huang Jing Yu so I can't comment about him, I know he has a lot of fans though. I started skipping a lot of scenes, watching an entire episode in about 7-8 mins. I'll probably just keep up with that pattern for the rest of the show.
So I watched the episodes 22-30 raw, I'm extremely disappointed :(
They had a great storyline with new ideas about silk trade, class divide etc but they end up at the damn palace and its a harem fight -_- Fake pregnancy, spiteful women plotting things against each other, emperor orders new marriage for prince etc etc etc. ugh. I avoid palace dramas because they have extremely annoying tropes. I'm so annoyed.
The romance on this show was never really great to begin with, but till ep 30 the two never even have a cute moment. Well whatever. I'll skim through the rest.
Dropped my rating from 8.5 to 7.5(still pretty okay just cause first part was kinda fresh).
I'm making a very concrete guess about the identity of Dodosolsollalasol . . . . . . . . . . I think its Jun representing his friend who died. The repeated reference to a star while RaRa talks to DDSSLLS, the way Jun and Rara met and all the random clues point to this. OMG <3
Down thread, @funnypeopleswim, @Joanna Fortuna-Queiroz and I noted the trend of virginal female leads growing…
Large number of sexual partners are still not acceptable in non-western countries. This applies to the MLs as well. Apart from the political dramas which feature harems, most of the CDramas have MLs who only have eyes for the FL and have never been with anyone else.
I am only on ep5 but I am so happy with the number of fight sequences and the exciting plot that its offering. ML's acting could be much better but he is doing alright, not as terrible as was feared by me and many others based on some of his other works. I really have to give credit to the voice actor though, the tonalities and emotions expressed in the voice are one of the main reasons ML manages to work. FL is an absolute delight even though someitmes I am creeped out by her huge persistent smile which seems plastered on. lol
