Why don't you just take it easy? If someone doesn't like a particular dorama, it doesn't automatically mean that…
I’m not going to jump to conclusions like you did, so I won’t label you a 'hater'—maybe just a bit rushed ? If you’d taken one extra second to scroll down and read through some of the comments from accounts with names like Time, Shen Li, or Forever Time (you know, the ones clearly trying too hard to sound cool), you’d realize we’re not talking about thoughtful, logical reviewers of the drama. We’re responding to some seriously nasty, illogical, and downright disrespectful attacks on the actors. A little advice: before making judgments, it’s worth doing a bit of homework. ✌️
so basically he got all the tribute pearls and cui trying to take it from him? and that treasure hunting competiton…
The Cui's been skimming off the top of the Emperor’s tribute pearls, selling them to the highest bidders. So, the ML comes up with a master plan—he buys up every last pearl, demolishes the pearl farm (the source of all those pearls), then goes full-on pearl hoarder mode. He snaps up every pearl on the market, even strikes deals with other merchants to buy up future shipments. The villains think they’re being clever by setting up a treasure hunt to cancel out his contracts, but surprise, it’s all a bust. The ML and FL team up with Lady Wu to completely outsmart them. In the end, the Cuis can’t meet the Emperor’s tribute pearl quota, and they’re in serious trouble—like ‘losing their heads’ trouble. It’s a revenge plot so brilliantly executed, it practically deserves a standing ovation. Oh, and I haven't even mentioned the part where the ML tricked them into buying chests full of junk—basically wiped out the Cuis' entire fortune. Talk about a financial meltdown.
I really don't like what these writers do to Yue Yun Xie's father. It's sad to see that a adopted father can't…
Actually, it's the FL who saves her, not the ML. Thus, FL is the hero.
Sure, they could’ve made the villain some distant relative—an aunt or uncle we barely know. But would that really stir up the deep, gut-wrenching emotions? And would it even make sense for her character growth in the long run? The closer it hits to home, the bigger the feels. It’s a drama for a reason, right?
Argh so confusing can't wait for next episodes let the truth come out whether she is his sister or not 😭
I'm guessing you haven't seen the finger kiss vid? DW and YZJ are not siblings, not even remotely related... DW's father is the chief craftsman of the Yan family.
I'm really disliking this trend of shows where the woman is abused or oppressed and the falls in love with the…
In those times, it’s sadly true that slaves and servants often face harsh treatment. From my perspective, he seems to regard her as he would any other servant, irrespective of her gender. It’s a harsh reality of survival; he would likely treat a man who trespasses on his ship the same way. In contrast to the pearl farm, where women were clearly exploited and mistreated, his ship operates at a different level, offering its servants more humane treatment. Compared to many western films that tackle themes of slavery, this drama feels far less brutal. Slavery represents one of the darkest chapters in human history, a reality that resonates deeply and evokes strong emotions. This theme is prevalent because it reflects truths that hit close to home, much like the allure of war films. It’s only by confronting the darkness that we can truly appreciate the light and celebrate the resilience of the human spirit.
Given DW's strong character, I truly don't believe she would ever fall for a man who mistreats her. If YZJ were genuinely abusing her, I doubt she would remain on the ship at all with or without the red pearl. In my pov, YZJ is fundamentally different from the men at the pearl farm, who would readily attack or degrade DW or any woman without a second thought.
On epi 9 why didn't FL say anything about Shrimp to ML in front of everyone? Please I need this thug trading crew…
The unfortunate truth is that their ranking still falls below those two poor excuses for human beings. DW had every intention of confronting them, but Shrimp begged and held her back. Kid knows deep down that if DW makes a move against them now, she risks getting hurt and undoing the small victories she’s worked so hard to achieve. DW has to learn that patience is key and that choosing her battles wisely will lead to the best outcome in the long run. Shrimp will get justice by end of epi 9, DW made sure of it in a brilliant move.
practicing before the real one? 😆 She is using her thumb to block it 😂
These two leads are a tease. 😆 We catch a glimpse of a real kiss in the LA trailer, but here it’s a thumb kiss! 😂 Still, the chemistry is off the charts—the way they gaze at each other is captivating!
