Absolutely! I adore Lusi's acting. When she shouted "beat them!" I literally jumped—so intense! 😆 I always felt that ZJR never fully understood DW; he couldn't accept her for who she is, flaws and all. He just wanted her to fit into this ideal image of innocence he has in his head. I loved DW’s speech; it was brutally honest. DW and ZJR are not and will never be the same. ZJR can stand on his moral high ground because he’s in a position of power, while DW doesn’t have that luxury. Being too kind or forgiving is a risk she can’t afford—she might lose the brother she loves. That’s a tough truth she’s learned. Shrimp’s situation symbolizes DW’s struggle; she feels helpless to save those she loves. This realization will push her to find strength and power, driving her character forward.

My interpretation:
SML first noticed FL because, well, she’s drop-dead gorgeous. Then his hero complex kicked in and compelled him to save the FL, because, well she's a damsel in distress. Now he’s on this noble mission to keep her innocent, pure, and untouched by the ML’s bad influence, as if she’s some fragile flower. Why? Because he’s convinced ML is the poster boy for cutthroat, heartless capitalism.

FL deeply appreciates SML for being the first man to treat her with genuine kindness. She knows he’s a good soul who truly wants to help, but she can’t get behind his approach because each of his proposals leaves her tethered to him, dependent on his protection. She thinks of him more like a solid friend—the kind of friend she's never had before, and that’s something she genuinely cherishes. But he doesn’t send her pulse racing, doesn’t make her cheeks flush and emotions flare up, or her mind whirl with thrilling curiosity. He’s a warm tea on a cold day, not the lightning that splits the sky.

On the pearl divers' small boat, we see those movements. In the western films I’ve seen, larger ships rarely exhibit that kind of motion unless they’re racing through a storm, caught in battle, or swaying wildly in rough seas. Is it realistic? I’m not really sure—I’ve only been on small fishing boats myself. Honestly, I'm glad for that. If I had to watch hours of constant tilting and swaying, I’d probably end up feeling queasy. As for lighting, during those times, I've seen a mix of candles, oil lamps, and lanterns, which are the ones that can be the bolted down or hung by a chain. It makes sense that not all the lights would be fixed in place; they’d need to be moved around to illuminate different areas of the ship.

Truthfully, I’ve seen better ship scenes in Western films, but they often have massive budgets to work with. The TSOPG team did a decent job on the ship scenes, in my humble opinion.

True, a gilded cage is still a cage, no matter how comfy it is. I guess we’ll find out if she decides to fly the coop once she gets that red pearl in the upcoming episodes. From the trailers, it looks like the ML finally hands it back to her, saying she deserves it, and she's asked to leave the ship.

It’s set to air on multiple satellite TV channels, and millions will tune in—then hop online afterward to share their hot takes. The truth has a funny way of shining through, and the truth here is that we’re in for a fantastic drama. Maybe Youku's focus on offline and physical promotions is a hidden blessing to reach wider mature audience whose lives doesn't revolve around online platforms. I mean, he's almost too sharp when it comes to piecing together his investigation. He’s not just fully aware of the attempts on his life; after the trap he set, he’s clued into who and understands why they’re happening. He’s got an eyebrow raised at YZJ’s pearl farm ties and motives, and he used DW to bunk in the Mirage. Sure, YZJ is the mastermind pulling the strings and dropping the pearl farm ledger right into his lap, but ZJR? He might be inching into slight red flag... so like orange flag territory. Imo, that would make for some juicy character development—like watching an angel slowly fall from grace.
