It's a Sleepless Princess reunion!! Hu Yixuan and James Yang were royal step-siblings from that drama 🥹 So happy to see them together here. I adore James Yang in the Sleepless Princess and look forward to more of him here.

LMAO, true.

I’ve always loved Hu Yi Xuan ever since I watched her in The Sleepless Princess. Always disappointed that she…
Yesss. That's how I came to know Hu Yixuan!! I love The Sleepless Princess so much. I'm always looking forward to her in new projects.

The first four episodes are surprisingly lighthearted and hilarious!! I laugh so hard every time the historian chrysanthemums official guy witnesses something with hongning and jinxiu, LMAOOO. He is SO torn between writing the truth and protecting jinxiu's dignity, hahaha.

It's quite delightful, and I'm SO glad that they re-filmed this with Hu Yixuan! It looks good so far, without any obvious flaw of the switching of the actress. And I'm enjoying Hu Yixuan's performance so much. She's such a natural cutie. And I'm quite enjoying Liu Xueyi's exasperated expressions and just being so utterly startled by her actions and just being so flustered, lol. It's so funny and endearing.

There is going to be heartbreak later, I know it, but this has been so fun so far. 😆

Haha, thank you! And I agree!! NO matter what kind of ending they were going to go with, they should've written it a lot more logically...

I am kinda confused which drama of Ju Jingyi should I watch first can someone suggest me??
In Blossom! One of her more recent ones where she did a pretty good job as two different characters.

After finishing this drama:
This is definitely one of those dramas where it could've had a bittersweet ending or even a sad ending and we all would've been FINE with it, lol.

But really, it's weird that they rushed the ending so much into a bunch of weird tropes--amnesia arc, male lead's sickness/plague moment, the separation at the end of episode 23 because they were going to "part" ways. It's too bad that they wrote the ending like this. And they never solved the issue with Lord Pingnan?? Is that man dead????? And, also, she's a royal from the previous dynasty and also has a map on her back to the treasury or something?? We're just never going to address it?

After male lead was shot by an arrow, they should've done it so that Lord Pingnan was captured/killed, and then she used her medical knowledge and skills to help save male lead, but male lead is in a short coma so that gives her enough time to escape and really "part" ways. Then, he should've spent time recovering and actually learning what it means to love now that she was gone and so he grows. Meanwhile, she is far away and is learning to separate what her feelings are--which ones are real, and which one is from just the messy chaos.

For most of this drama, it was actually good in the sense where she was consistently trying to leave, he was consistently controlling and growing more obsessive. But at one point, the writers just gave up. Sigh.

Saw the trailer and came to check who the director is and it IS him!! My favorite director who did Blossom, Butterflied Lover, Provoke, A Familiar Stranger. I'm so hyped now!

I'm actually really glad that this drama is only releasing 1 ep/day! This way, I'm not just consuming it in one day and then moving on already. I really like this drama so far, 13 episodes in, and am pleasantly surprised. The romance is not overbearing or illogical and the characters are true to their personalities so far. I'm even intrigued with Imperial Advisor--who seems like just your typical villain right now, but since he seems to have a deeper connection with Li Jingxian, it looks like they may have a deeper storyline. Also, I love seeing that the Emperor have more than just a romance storyline, but an actual plot storyline that has to do with the kingdom. I'm excited to see what happens next.
On Once upon a Dream Apr 24, 2025
I am really glad to see that the female lead is strong willed for most of the episodes and recognizes that, yes, male lead have protected her many times, BUT, he has also harmed/violated her as well. His controlling obsessive ways are too restrictive and unhealthy. She can be grateful, but she shouldn't have to devote her whole life to someone who has constantly tried to restrict her freedom. I hope she survives/is free at the end of the drama!!

I'm so glad I waited for more episodes because this drama has been such a wild ride, lol. I wonder if the scriptwriter of this drama is the same person from the Republican era drama "Circle of Love." The dynamics of the leads, the similar storylines, and overall vibe are similar, lmao.

In which episode does Fu Jiu Yun (Zheng Ye Cheng) appear?
I totally forgot he'll have a guest appearance! So glad we'll get to see him.

Started this drama on a whim, and the first few episodes was just okay, but their dynamic became so fun and the comedy is gold! It's been such a pleasant surprise.
On Perfect Match Mar 30, 2025
Just finished this drama and I will miss it a lot. I loved the Li family and their love and protection for each other. The men were sometimes annoying, honestly, but they turned out okay in the end. I do have some issues with a couple of the plot choices, but overall, a warm romantic comedy family drama. Such a huge cast that did a pretty good job handling everyone's storyline--and in only 36 episodes! I would've loved the full 40 episodes, focusing on the last daughter and qiongnu more.

Just finished episode 21 and so excited to see this next step in the plot!! Spoilers below.
It's SO important to even the odds. Su chengcheng was tricking him for a long time. At first, it was just funny, but after killing off quan shengtang like that, it was honestly too much. It was too soon and too absurd. Thankfully, Tang Qi is a logical and skeptical person. It's his turn to deceive su chengcheng to catch her red-handed! This should be fun 😃

I gotta admit, it's hard for me to watch the episodes because of the second hand embarrassment I feel 🤣 But this drama was so unexpected and so hilarious! I don't think I've laughed so much in a drama in a while. The alpaca scene? IYKYK 🤣🤣🤣
