Thanks for spotlighting him!! I saw him for the first time in Dreaming Back to Qing Dynasty. He stole my heart with his sweet face and emotional performance. I watched his recent one with zhao lusi and they were very cute together in that drama. He's one of my fav young actors!
A friend was live blogging her watch of this drama so I started it too, and five episodes in, it's got me kicking my feet, screaming, cackling, feeling the hot tension between the leads! I'm enjoying this, it's entertaining!! Also, I really like Hao fushen's visuals. I liked his face a lot already and then realized he was the green flag male lead in May Your Heart Be Like Mine! What a pleasant surprise. So excited to see him in more dramas.
Zhang wanyi out here in so many dramas after Lost You Forever!! So happy for him, but I can't keep up, lol. I finished Are You The One last year and still haven't started Rise of Ning 😭 But save this for another time.

Yeah, it's too bad that there's nothing really happening that's helping this relationship forward. Typically, in a slave-master romance trope like this, the character in the master role (the princess) needs to mature and realize that love is not about enslaving and forcing the other person, and also learns to be kinder and considerate. When the master changes, the 'slave' character will start to see the 'master' in a different light.
So far, Qingkou has shown no growth and so this relationship is a constant cycle of her forcing her feelings on him and him ignoring/rejecting. He literally has never shown interest. He's only focused on his task. She has power over him due to her status and being in her country. You're right that he needs to go back to his country to have power on his side.
We're halfway through the drama already so not sure if there will even be time to address their relationship. I assume the princess will follow him to his country when he leaves and will experience what it's like to be the outsider and treated poorly like he experienced when he was in her country. That would be one way to switch the power imbalance and get her to grow up and realize she's been selfish and cruel.
I want to care about Qingkou and Qimin's relationship, but 16 episodes in with no character development from either of them...it's so, so hard to keep watching them. They desperately need growth.
I hope she rest more before taking on any more projects or brands. It's a shocking sight to see such a young bright celebrity walking with a cane, but I think it is incredibly brave for her to be public with it. Most celebrities in the world seemed able-bodied and seemed like they are happy and well, but the truth is that so many are experiencing a lot of hardships and issues. So many have hidden disabilities and disorders, but are forced to hide it. It's nice to see that she is willing to show herself while still recovering.

I'm not someone who screams red flag green flag at every character and I don't take dramas very seriously but…
Yeah, it was upsetting. I was hoping that this whole thing blows up in the husband's face later and have the story properly address his problematic ways. Instead, like 3 scenes later, he accidentally told the truth and then she just beat him up 😑 their relationship isn't growing, and it's a bit frustrating to see.

Not a kung fu kind of drama! I think some characters may know how to fight, but that's not the main aspect of this drama. It's a family ensemble show, not a wuxia or xianxia drama. As of 4 episodes in, no political intrigue yet. The current male leads aren't related to any royal, so their shouldn't be very much royal drama.
Binged watch all 4 episodes! This is a family drama as much as a romance one, so I think people need to keep that in mind. It's about the ups and downs of their family as well so it's not always about the romance.
I adore the sisterhood and the fierce mother. She can be too much, but when you think about what she's been through (death of husband, death of only son, relatives hungry ing over your wealth and lands), it makes sense that she is so protective of the daughters.

I know that the original novel is still not complete, so this drama will have its own ending. But I'm a bit confused. I thought, 60,000 years ago, they were friends only with her having a one-sided love for him, who didn't notice his own feelings until she was gone? But according to some of the flashbacks we've seen so far, it seems like he might had been interested in her ? Can someone who has read the novels explain what's going on? Thanks!!
