Definitely give it a try! The leads look good together and have good chemistry. They're smart and competent. The pacing is good without feeling rushed. I'm not caught up on the episodes yet but I'm really enjoying it!

I came to love Yang Zi after Lost You Forever, and I knew she would do well in this drama. The one who is surprising me the most is Miles Wei! I've mainly seen him in romantic comedies and as a protagonist. To see him as this antagonist role who can't let go of Mudan while also dealing with his own conflicts, I applaud him for such a great job so far.

Nope, you're good. I would only recommend watching ALP if you want to see their life before they had these lives in Moonlight Mystique. But their storyline in ALP is pretty short so not necessary to watch, and, due to some copyright issues, this drama is probably not going to mention ALP much.
I miss Yue Mi and Tian Qi so much, I'm glad for this drama even though we won't get to see Liu Xueyi and Luo Qiuyun as these characters. They were my favorite actors for these characters, but I am warming up to Bai Lu and Ao Ruipeng. I'm six episodes in, and I'm enjoying it so far. The soundtrack is very good, and the characters are interesting. I'm also really liking the developing, complicated relationship between chong zhao and fu ling. Can't wait to see how all of it unfold.

Just super upset about her death. It's unfortunate that they're releasing this so long after it filmed. You can tell that it's older by its quality and production and makeup...almost everything gives it away. But I will give this a try since I adore the leads from their previous dramas.
