ohhhh.. so this seems like a slowburn drama??? I was hoping the romance elements would show early on but it's already half way through and not a single hint on both aspects. asdfghjkl. is this why people are rating it a 7.7 here?? ðŸ˜
I'm on ep 2 and needs spoilers... 1. when does the ml know that the fl is a demon ?? 2. what ep does he start showing her that he likes her? and is it after he knew she's a demon??
Who knew there was another person who felt the same LOL...
LMAO... yeah... i couldnt watch anything with him in it coz he just reminds me so much of KW and i hate being reminded of him. ahahahah.. but i think i could get over it now.
I usually avoid dramas by Arthur Chen because he just looks soooo similar to Kris Wu (let's just say I hate Kris to the core now) but because I'm a fan of WYL, I decided to give this a try and so far, it's good. comedic stuff could be better and Arthur seems good so far. soooo I'm looking forward to seeing more of the episodes. I'm just at EP 5 right now.
It feels a bit short, also the story was written a long time ago, so the characters are not the super trendy perfect…
I just saw actually from a post somewhere that this is a 4 unit drama. and Meng Ziyi was in the 1st unit with Heyu.. the next one is with Chen Duling. Are the stories connected like perfect match?
the rating is 7.7... is it really that bad? I'm not a reader of anything at all so I don't have any idea what this story is all about but seems like this is also an adaptation from something (which I haven't heard of before coz again, I don't read books or web novels etc.)
I was supposed to watch this for Meng Ziyi.. but anyway, can anyone who maybe didn't read anything as well comment how Is it going so far?
I didn't notice that but it's annoying whenever she replies with English instead Chinese. I mean, it's a Chinese…
just found your comment. the thing is, she doesn't even speak in English. she still speaks in Mandarin but being dubbed in English by someone who I assume is not a native English speaker.. not sure if she did the dubbing herself.
okay. now that I'm done watching with this, let me leave a review with spoilers in the replies. hope people read…
Let me put my thoughts here. This would've been a solid 10/10 if not for that questionable ending. I mean, I'm happy that it's a H.E. but that last episode really left me questioning things but despite that, the journey I had with this drama was amazing and worth the watch still. (I read some comments here before I binge watched this so I really was curious how this series ended before I got to EP1 but since I didn't check the ending first, I really felt like I am being left with an assignment to find out more... Lol)
Okay, let's start with the characters, I personally think 4/5 of the team was casted perfectly. Everyone except MU DAI's actress. Not a fan of the others but I know Ao Rui Peng would deliver good acting since I have also seen his others works before and I like some of his acting in them. For Mudai, i like her chemistry with Lou Ren overall. I'm also fine with the romance blossoming in here even without kissing scenes which I personally think 1 kiss on a crucial moment would've been nice but I do know the actress doesn't do that. Nevertheless, they did the romance aspect quite good. Subtle and it doesn't take the main theme of the story.
However, my issue with her is when I need her to be acting her heart out sometimes, she doesn't do that. Again, ON SOME PARTS. If you've watched the series fully, I feel like some of you here would agree with me. She still did great but I guess there was this one episode I wanted her to really showcase her acting skills but I was left with just blank expression at that part but anyway, I guess for this genre it's not going to be a big deal.
As for the PLOT, I rarely watch Cdramas (especially modern ones) that I didn't have to skip or speed up. Every scene makes me want to pay attention even more in case I would miss out on details..so it definitely got me watching continuously because every end of episodes, they'd leave me hanging so of course, I'd want to start the next episode right away. It's really good! However, there were episodes that felt lacking and it did feel like the magic and mystery that the 1st 5 episodes gave were missing.. but still the story progressed quite good. Just leaves me now to the ending part.
What was the ending even about? With All that build up, you would expect an intense fight just like how the fight happened with the 6th omen lady.. maybe even more intense considering how amazing the story in the 1st 5 episodes delivered but it was just really lacking in so many ways. For someone that's so called the leader of the omens, I'd expect an intense battle to have the 5 descendants comply with his wishes but no.. instead we just got to the illusions and then after these leads were out, it's like that's just it..
So overall, it felt like discovering a really good show with super incredible pacing and stories in it to be met with a questionable ending. Like yeah, it's HAPPY. I'm happy with them too but there are questions left Unawered for me.
P.S. I expected the chicken to have some important significance in the show actually considering the shadow appeared as phoenix but it also ended up just being a "warmer" on a crucial time when everyone's still in the illusion and while they're all in the mountain during the snowstorm. I find it weird but they could've utilise that chicken better aside from being the warmer and plucking out omen 6's eye (a.k.a the omen itself)
Anyway, that's all. This is still such a solid watch but don't expect too much on the ending I guess. Just enjoy the story build up and be happy It's a happy ending.

damn it. they make me feel single so much. I hate it here. 🤣🤣🤣ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I couldn't even say GET A ROOM coz they're literally in a room (every time they get too sweet) ughhhh
I just started this series and now on EP8. I'm convinced they have Ao Rui Peng here for the COMEDY element. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ He's got some serious sides in here but he's 80% funny.. Him and Zhang Yi Chi. the comedic duo.
Gosh, Qin Wan and that coroner crying made me cry too. coz same..how could such a vile deed even happen??? why are there so many lives taken as if it's just some random piece of wood thrown. gosh. I cried too.
So far it's good. I like the burning looks of the leads whenever they look at each other. They just have this oozing chemistry. Though I think this drama may not be for everyone but for me who loves investigations coz it makes me feel involved, I'm loving this series so far.
