Tian Xi Wei really plays her characters so well. I'm so impressed. loved her so much in Moonlit Reunion. she was very "cat-like" in there.. also loved her other shows..

Changyu's also just really a great character and I'm so happy TXW played as Changyu. Can't imagine anyone playing the role other than her.

The men in Changyu's life are all dramatic af and wants her attention so much coz how does she have Mr. Zhao, grand tutor Tao, her 4 pig butcher brothers, heck even Mr. Li and Xie Zheng wrapped in her fingers?? 😂😂😂😭😭😭 They're all freaking dramatic.

Just a thought.. And this is also my assumption of what's going to happen based of the teasers.

XZ could've just revealed himself in an early episode or something. SYQ was basically held hostage and CY had him exchanged for food and supplies when the narrative that they didnt have food and supplies came from XZ himself to make the enemy assume that they're having a hard time (I dont know, that's usual war tactics).. But since CY didnt know any of that, she thought of a solution of which to "trade SYQ" for food and supplies and now that kinda was a mistake because they basically have an "important figure's life" held captive in their camp and yet, the guy was just freed for a problem that could've not existed if she was only made aware of his identity early on... Because then, she'll know that she needs to be careful.

Also, I know he's a marquis and he couldn't have CY take on a military punishment. At the same time, I feel like if this happened and CY was already aware he was the Marquis, there could only be 2 things that can happen. 1. CY behaves or 2. Do the trade off recklessly (which she did btw)... Best lesson to give her if she did no. 2 was to punish someone she loves so she learns anyway. So even if she was atleast aware XZ was already Marquis at that point, it would've still been fine and he could take on punishment as HER HUSBAND (not a marquis) just so he can show, nobody is above their rules.

Still he might have taken that punishment unless of course there will be interventions. Just that this is one of my takes in the scenes..

I have already seen Deng Kai before but he had a memorable role in Love of the Divine Tree that I can't take him seriously in here because his goofy villain ass in the series was just something else (in LDT). Now, he's oozing with hotness in this series. lol.

I love Neo! I'm such a fan however, I'll probably skip his drama with Aimi because I don't really see the chemistry at all. not to mention, they look like they're siblings instead of character pair..

Yeah, I also had certain time period in costume dramas that I don't particularly like which honestly affects my viewing experience overall. Example of this is Bao Shang En and Song Weilong's drama Youthful Glory .. The men's fits were fine but I had a really hard time liking the dresses of that period. Even the hairstyles. I would've loved that series if only the had their women in full hair down styles instead of those hair styles.. Of course, respect to the period of the drama just that I was really hoping it wasnt that exact time period they decided to go for (i dont know if that drama was originally or novel or not.. I'm just a show person in general).. I loved the period though for BLOSSOM. Meng Ziyi's outfits there were great.

Zhang Ling He's character in this show so far (Xie Zheng) has really been the best of the best of his works.. Not a fan of him at all (maybe now I would be as I am also looking forward to OVERDO) but in a short span of 11 episodes so far, he showed such a balanced character... The not good but not bad one.. Incredibly balanced.. With a thing for looserism too.. He's obsessive (which I like), but also has respect... I would dare say he's better than ZLH's modern drama character (He Suye of the best thing).. The acting here is incredibly superb. Also worth to note, his costume here suits him so much. I don't know why in his previous costume drama works, I couldn't really get into his whole aesthetics (for characters).. At some point, I have issues with the wigs, another time, I would have beef with his costumes and overall look but in this series (and based of the spoiler behind the scenes from last year), he looked the best in this show.

And oh, Tian Xiwei has been incredible in all of her shows. I think aesthetic wise, she looked best in Moonlit Reunion and in here... Can't wait to see more of TXW in the future.

I don't think I've seen a lot of dramas that casted Deng Kai in it but when I do he's either a villain supporting goofy character or in a modern drama as a side character as well but damn.. His face suits historical/costume dramas so much..

I always thought there are Chinese male and female actors who would only be suitable in 1 genre (modern or costume) and Deng Kai actually shows he's more suitable for Costume series. lock him in Hengdian!!

Gongsun Yin definitely has OCD. LMAO.. The way he fixed Changning's hair because it was crooked. and the way how he cleaned up the house before leaving. That man can't stand not seeing things organized.
