Cause if you watch the scene again he said that quickly once he heard his assistant come up and then said he was buying it for an adult. He can't let anyone know because that would put him at risk, he knows all too well how people use family members as a weakness to exploit

The show has emphasized from the start the FL going through a journey of re-discovering joy again through a second chance at life, and any reference to the original soul has only been used to strengthen the FLs resolve to re-connect to her own true self. I haven't seen any narrative foreshadowing of them suddenly swapping back, it just wouldn't make sense with its current trajectory. But I have been burned before. And I am like you, if they start swapping souls I'm out cause that would make the plot so messy and disjointed. So I REALLY hope they don't go this route.
