Yeah his ex saying "you've never had anyone hate you, right?" was a huge tell of his main flaw. He grew up the baby of the family to doting sisters/mom, has always been talented and excelled at school/work, and is able to use his good looks to charm the rest. He cannot handle that someone doesn't like him, and it really shows his ego. He has this dogmatic belief of "if I excel and do the right things according to my own standard, I deserve to be appreciated" that does smack of entitlement and just does not reflect reality.

Yeah if you think about it, she made two competing promises -- one to the PM never to lie to him, and one to the prince to keep everything between them secret. Sooooo she gonna have to break one of those.

It's so refreshing to see two adults acting like adults in a k drama T.T

Aww shame, sucks when there is a drama everyone is loving but it's not clicking with you. Maybe you can come back when it's over and see if you can get back into it.

I was so happy because I had the thought after the dinner scene with the queen and them driving home together "damn these two are 100% in love and don't realize it." So the kiss felt like such a natural next step.

The prince is the only person who could threaten her son's place, so she needs to have a tight control on him to feel like she and her son's position is safe. Part of that was deciding who he would marry so she could continue to control him through his in-laws family. So it just unsettled her that he was suddenly being rebellious, marrying a rich commoner who she has no way to control. Her conversation with her father this week was really telling, she was able to accept the engagement after figuring out that she could use HJ to control the prince. It's all about control for her.

Same! I love that he refused to use his position as PM to break up their engagement, even though personally that is what he most wanted. That shows his integrity. And I think he genuinely thinks HJ being a royal will hurt her overall. I just hope he is able to gracefully step back when he finds out they truly have feelings for each other.

I love them because they are not the cliche scheming couple--they def have their flaws and they aren't always good sibling to HJ, but I do think they care about her and want her to be happy, just not at the expense of their own happiness haha. And I love that they are actually a very stable and healthy couple, like they're genuinely in love and support each other . Honestly the actors playing them are SO good, esp the guy playing the brother. They are always my fav scenes besides the leads

I agree that I would love to see the prince and little king to be able to grow closer, but the Queen Mother is wholly to blame, she is his actual parent and she is the one responsible for his ultimate well-being, she is the one who has made it challenging for the king to get close to his uncle and tries to keep them distant, and she is the one who makes the young king feel so alone and so pressured. The prince can only do so much, and it would actually be inappropriate for him to overstep against the king's actual legal parent.

I have a theory that the old king actually set the fire himself and committed suicide because he felt so trapped, so the prince may feel responsible in that way.

YESS I always dread the cliche second to last episode noble sacrifice break up for no reason, mostly because it happens after the leads have fallen in love and gotten together so it makes their relationship seem kinda toxic and like maybe they shouldn't be together. But putting it in early before they get together worked so much better, esp cause it aligned with the Prince's character flaw of pulling back instead of charging forward. The angst was real but believable

There are a lot of k drama couples who have great chemistry but it feels more rare that the two are actually really good for each other and really challenge each other to change in positive ways. So I love this couple because of that

The scene between them with the arrow/bow was one of my fav of the show so far, it just felt so electric and reminded me why they have such great chemistry and make such a good couple.

I took it as HJ taking the investigation into her own hands, like her wanting to find out what happened and not being able to wait for the formal investigation, but you're right, the shop she got her car fixed should have been the very first stop for detectives, and they would have immediately started looking for the worker from the shop, this would have been a top priority for the crown/govt within hours of this all going down. It's also possible whomever had the power to order a kill like this may have had influence on the investigation. But for now it does feel like a plot hole, I agree.

So worth it! The first episode was a little weak, not bad or anything but just not wow, but from the second on it's sooo good and gets better each week.

I'd say it's mostly romance and comedy, with some nice moments of drama thrown in. The leads are, I'd say, even smarter than they seem at first.
