I am on episode 32 and one thing that I would have liked to have seen more of is the tempestuous exchanges between Jiang Li and SYR. Even though she was setting him up at the party, I feel it all happened too fast. I could have done with more exchanges where he admits his frailties, guilt and believe it or not, love, while she got more opportunities to torture him. It makes sense because she was in love with him, and within her right to hurt him anyway she could. I could see him accepting everything she threw at him until she was ready to cast the net. The few scenes between them were borderline passionate and I wanted to see more clashing. If any of you were writing this, how would you have handled it?

Exactly. SYR's frailty is a lack of character. As guilt ridden as he is over his choices, he still chose not to protect his wife. His biggest mistake was not trusting in her competence to come up with a way they could survive Wanning. He didn't confide in her and made the decision without her. He doesn't get to have an opinion about XFF life now. He is a bast*** through and through.

Wow! How does a producer put up $$$ for a show and not trust the drama will work? Wondering at the reasons shows are being produced in China?

Why do they make such a big deal about ages and kissing? Is the actor's innocence in jeopardy if he does a fake kissing scene with an older leading lady? What the heck? Aren't they professionals? I had to "kiss" my acting partners all the time and none of it was ever real. It's rehearsed just like everything else.

That bathtub scene killed me. I think this is the moment XFF fell in love with Duke Su. She is fantasizing about her drunken escapade and how she behaved.
