as someone who watched the first season and the first two episode of the second, yes you need to watch S1 since there were so many references mentioned that you wouldn't get and especially about Oh Ji Hyuk and also the dynamic of the team

Yeah i remember than i just thought that the journalist killed him but no he just almost did but i forgot sorry lmao but anyway the cousin was arrested and his storyline is literally concluded I don’t see any reason for him to comeback and will not since he is literally in prison ( and not in the cast for this season )
Flower of evil does have a romance genre and revolves around them as a couple and how she comes to term with who her husband is but this drama is not romance so again if you want something like FOE I don’t recommend watching this. Just because the ML is married doesn’t mean this has to be romance
it is tho when its in the premise that the ML will go to prison so you shouldn't expect romance from such a mystery thriller drama with no romance genre to begin with. we will at most see some flashbacks of how they got married and their dynamic but if you are expecting the drama to be a full on or 50% romance i recommend you not watch this

yeahhh i don't think i will be watching season 2 if it comes like they were heavily hinting at. I loved the show but i was satisfied without the last 15 minutes or so and don't feel the need for more
