Hoshizaki basically was born and felt different probably some kind of personality disorder like anti personality and he noticed this at some point and spent the rest of his life trying to like observe people and the atmosphere to act normal and this made him get used to it and view the world like a movie with him detached from the scene but when Kujo came, things began to change but at the end he noticed that even though everything changed and his classmates changed he still remained the same which brought back the feeling of being different heavily.
I honestly felt bad for him? like he didn't ask to be born like this and didn't necessarily want to do anything bad and was just sick of the situation and being different and hated the thought of himself staying like this forever so he decided to kill Kujo and then die immediately after.
I gotta say tho, even if they are not really in the first world, it feels weird that he just killed her in the first timeline but really he got no punishment and Kujo was overly understanding ,because honestly no matter the reason, killing her and then dying is just so effed up and he was so creepy overall about it like when she caught him at first and he was all smiley and amused about her finding out like he didn't just try to kill her.

I enjoyed Okudaira's performance so much today!
overall it was a fun drama to watch weekly (I feel like its better weekly honestly so I am glad I watched it before it was completed

like if I was Tori and even if I knew he probably wouldn't do it again and I find out that he did it for me even if in a very twisted and weird way, I just wouldn't be able to stay friends with that person and literally see him every day for hours solving crimes together!

what a plot twist for real! yeaah seemed to me too like they hinting to romantic feelings from Hisami toward Tori, he was even trying to say "I, toward you..." but then Tori stopped him before he slashed Tori's neck and was wondering if its just my imagination but I then see your comment so it wasn't just me. Although I gotta say Hisame's reason was dumb af and poor Tori! he really is a good dude tho for not telling on him.
I hope we can get a season 2

eh I disagree. i am enjoying the 12 episodes format way more since like you said they are dragging less and it fit more. maybe its because i am used to jdramas (they are usually 10 to 12 episodes), but i am loving this change the most

honestly I am VERY curious both who tried to kill Tori and why? it couldn't be the 3 friends since they genuinely seemed shocked then who are other suspects? honestly just the professor is left but why would he want to kill tori anyway? just for a mystery? still seems weird.
there is also a chance it was a suicide attempt and then he forgot but again why?
there is also a weird feeling that Hisame feels more guilty about the incident that the others but why? mikage even said that Hisame wants to be killed by Tori.
can't wait for answers.

ok now its WAAY too obvious. So Nishino was the one who fought it out with Ugumori but it was an accident and she is obviously very sorry and not capable of murder so she is not who killed Kujo and at the end Sagara went to ask Hamaoka about who gave him info about Nishino needing help which is obviously Hoshizaki because he was bored. Like just say it, its obvious why do I have to wait a whole week T_T even the preview is just clips from past episodes I guess so that there wouldn't be any spoilers.
anyway I bet my entire savings and my kidney to Hoshizaki being the villain XD he literally didn't utter a word the entire episode and overall not once did he speak about Ugumori's death and show any sadness also in the video at the end he was the only one who moved and he looked straight at the camera so yeah.

Honestly I am gonna watch this mainly for the cast especially Joon since I am his biggest fan. I hope joon's character turns out to be fun

there is actually! ML gets hit in the head and 2nd ML faints after seeing him like that with blood but its mostly because he was reminded of when the ML got cut in his neck before by someone years ago (that past case is not fully explained yet)

they are really good friends and I love their relationship but there is also this tension almost as if one of them feels guilty toward the other but we don't know why yet

things like Mikio's two videos before and after his experiment in making nezu kill him failed and him saying that he surprised himself in that he was happy when nezu didn't shoot him which show us he actually did consider Nezu a friend some time along the way.
but also and more importantly the whole teacher situation.... they literally didn't explain here AT ALL why she hated them and especially Nezu I guess because they didn't have time for a long monologue. she basically got bullied a lot by them and when she was pregnant Nezu caused her to miscarry by a prank he pulled (if I remember correctly he put a frog in her desk which she is so afraid of). so yeah I was disappointed they removed all that and the whole teacher situation seemed weird in the drama.
