Title My Only 12%
I am rewatching and I truly love this so so much. It perfectly captures the nostalgia of growing up and changes that brings to your life! It’s definitely my favourite project from director New and Earth and Santa are both just incredible in this - Cake is 100% my favourite BL character ever. He’s so charming, playful and caring, but there are moments when he lets his anger get the better of him. He’s such a real character and Santa played him so well! I am so excited to see Santa in a lead role again so soon and with Perth - they make sense as a pairing and their journey in this industry has been quite similar!

I think Yin quietly complemented War's acting. They had to be that way to get where they are now.
I always thought that too! Especially when looking at the other BL stars in 2020! Then I went on here to see people hating on his acting! but he is even better now.

Title Love in the Big City Spoiler
‪i think we need to make sure that the people that think this is going to be a cute and sweet BL know that that…
our lead has 3 main romantic relationships and they all end miserably - the first is a bad break up at university. The second is an older guy who never loved him. The third relationship I loved but his boyfriend moves countries and our lead cannot follow him because he has HIV and so can’t get a visa. He ends the novel a while later still wishing he could be with that 3rd partner that left. But the romances arent even the saddest bits: His platonic relationship with his best friend also ends miserably when they argue and he feels like their friendship was one big lie. And his relationship with his mother ends miserably too! ‬it will be the most depressing story told in recent BL years - so this is just a warning to those people thinking it will be cute and sweet - this will be dark! And of course I will watch it, love it and cry about it!

This!!! Although I did feel shocked and surprised at the PE class scene, but what I'm more focusing is that the…
yes! jiang tian - is a little different to how I always pictured him. Like for some reason I always imagined his uniform to be put on perfectly (his shirt always tucked in, buttons done up to the top) - but he is still so much like the character from the book - and Sheng Wang is almost exactly how I imagined him

I am a huge fan of the novel - its actually the only contemporary danmei I’ve ever finished, and as a fan I will be the first to say that this novel is the slowest slowburn to slowburn ever - if we were adapting this novel fully it would be 60 episodes and they wouldn’t kiss until way way in! They are definitely mixing around the novels timeline and I am okay with that. What I care about is that watching this series feels like reading the novel and those characters I read about really feel like they've been brought to life on screen. I think everyone is overreacting, this is better than I was expecting as such a fan!
On Living with Him Aug 25, 2024
I’be only just finished ep5, but this is so so adorable! I don’t get the mid reviews for this. The plot is simple, but it works and the leads are both great with good chemistry. it may be a bit slower paced compared to a lot of dramas from other countries, but this has pretty standard pacing for a jbl. Maybe the last 3 episodes are terrible and then I’ll understand, but i really hope not!

I expect just the opposite, I just want to see Junior and Mark's part.
they’re also who I’m most excited for which is why I was hoping we’d see them pop up through the other stories - just so we could see more of them
On Perfect 10 Liners Aug 20, 2024
I really hope with this we will get lots of cross overs in these stories - I hope we will see lots of hints of the future lead couples in the early episodes and then lots of scenes of the earlier couples all loved up in the final episodes. Even though I know the leads will rotate - i still want to see the other couples before and after each of thier stories.

even with all the couples this does feel a little slow to me, I’m on episode 10 and I don’t know if it needs 6 more, but I love every single couple and I love the big friendship group and the feeling of youth and fun this series exudes.

how would people rank the four main couples in this series in particular? From what I’ve seen Tan & Khaofang seem to be the favourite pairing.

Finally! This is my favourite contemporary Chinese romance novel! So beautiful! It’s the slowest slow burn in the whole world! The strangers- to hate - to reluctant getting along - to like- to love is incredible and so natural and believable in the novel! I love my favourite boys!
On Perfect 10 Liners Jul 13, 2024
I wish it was due to different circumstances, but I’m happy Santa has been given a lead role I’m gmmtv - his performance in My Only 12% as Cake is one of my all time favourites! He played such a layered, funny, real, flawed and beautiful character and he was only 18! It’s nice to see him partnered with Perth they had similar starts their career and are being directed by the director who originally brought them into the bl industry.

About Youth had finished filming ages and ages before it aired - I hope it’s just that some Taiwanese productions take ages to air - because this is my favourite contemporary danmei being adapted by the director of my favourite Taiwanese film!!! I need this!
