This drama makes me so happy but it is just cute and silly fun and I just love these characters so much that I could watch them just go round in circles forever. A lot of people hated season 1 for being so repetitive and so even more people are hating season 2 for it again being repetitive, but weirdly I’m still loving it- to me that is what this drama is and I think you have to be such a fan of these characters that watching them go round in circles is fun for you. So I can understand why people don’t like this series, but personally every episode leaves me a giggling mess - I’m so happy it is still my adorable summer comfort drama with all my favourite comfort characters. And when Minato internally said he loves Shin so much!? And at the end when Shin told Minato to go inside their house so he could say “I’m back!” - I actually died.
I've been really busy and barely able to keep up with any currently airing series and I am already behind on the 10 series I am in the middle of, but I decided I couldn't wait any longer to watch this - So I just finished episode 1 and it was fantastic - I am so blown away - and I have zero idea where this will go but I am so excited to find out - I guess I'll need to put those 10 other series on hold even longer whilst I catch up with this!
this drama is proof that you can make a drama with a simple plot that we’ve all seen before, but if you make it about these really beautiful, nuanced and fully formed characters, where not just the leads have incredible chemistry but the whole cast does and you have seriously talented actors that love and cherish these characters as much as the audience does you can create one of the most beautiful and heartwarming dramas. But just to go back to the chemistry for a second…how will these 2 leads chemistry ever be beaten?!
I haven’t been so in love with a drama that I’ve not been able to stop watching it until 5am for years! but this is so good it’s making me do that - i decided to rewatch it from the beginning again and I’ve made it to episode 15 -I only have 10 episodes left!
some scenes in this drama are just incredible, they are so packed with emotion, raw and painful. also I’m so happy we finally got Rens POV too, I can’t wait to delve even more into his character!
this made me so so happy! I love all these characters so much and I can’t believe they’re all back. I was grinning the whole way through just like I was in the first season. Also I like that there actually is a subtle difference in Minato - he’s definitely happier, he keeps smiling these adorable little romantic smiles that weren’t there in season 1. And I was one of the few who loved the weekly repetiveness of Shin chasing after Minato so I’m here for it in this season. And I like that the reason for Minato being distant is slightly different this time around, because although I think Minato is still very aware of the age gap and is still hesitant to go too deep into this relationship because he doesn’t want to be hurt, this time we have the added bonus of the fact that he actually likes Shin a crazy amount - so much that he can’t handle being normal around him sometimes - it’s just so adorable! Also so happy we are already delving so much info Asukas character way more than we ever did in season 1 - he’s still my fave.
I watched 1 second of the first episode of series 2, then realised I should probably re-watch the entirety of series one for the 100th time. I just love all these characters too much!
it was just confirmed that Kim Seon Ho’s next project will be a play in December… so maybe he said no to this - or it’s a long long way off being made - which isn’t usually the case for Kdramas but maybe
Ren is not what I was expecting at all. From the trailer I thought he was going to be this charismatic, loud, fun character, but really he's quite withdrawn, quiet and thoughtful, but still very charming. I was so surprised by this, but I am really enjoying his character - he's so intriguing and I have to commend how Aloha is playing him - under the surface there is clearly so many emotions, pain and vulnerability that are begging to come to the surface and we just see glimpses of them. It's a really beautiful performance for a really beautiful, but dark drama - really interested and enjoying this one. Also the casting for the teen versions of them is so good - they don't just look so much like the leads, but they also carry a lot of the same little nuances.
I am so happy that whoever the original director was dropped project this and we got Lee Ching Jung instead. She has made this drama so so beautiful - not many other directors could have told this story so well.
I looooved this series - I watched it every Friday as it aired, but after seeing the preview for episode 11 I decided to take a small break... it's now been 7 months and I still haven't watched the last two episodes - I think it's because the first 10 are this wonderful, at times heart breaking, but beautiful friends-lovers story and I really don't want my memory of this series to be marred by the mediocre last 2 episodes that feel like they come from a completely different series - so I still don't know if I should watch them or not. As a fan of the trope - who's seen way too many interpretations of it - those first 10 episodes are my favourite friends to lovers series ever.
Let me list it1. Story of Ming Lan2. Story of Yanxi Palace3. Reset4. Our Secret5. Be Reborn6. Glory of Special…
Thank you so so much! This is perfect! I will definitely be looking into all of these - I may be coming back to you to ask for more recommendations at some point 😊
If you’ve watched cdramas for 5 years I have a feeling you know these but still check my rec lists:Fantasyhttps://kisskh.at/list/1xrxX2q3Modernhttps://kisskh.at/list/1zEQJ0l4
The modern ones I’ve heard of of, but I’m so out of the loop of cdramas that I haven’t heard of quite a few of the fantasy dramas - thank you so much!
If you like contemporary dramas, try:- Falling Into Your Smile - Hi Venus- Crush- Road Home- Legally Romance-…
I had 2 of these on my list, but have never even heard of any of the others - they all sound super interesting - I am defiantly adding them to my list!
most of Lu si and Bai Lu's works are great. They're bold and have variety of roles that shows their natural gifted…
Yes! I’ve wanted to watch so many of Bai Lu’s dramas, but never actually started one - I’ll have to soon. Thank you - that list, has a couple that look really good.
I really loved "You Are My Hero" and "Meet Yourself" - both have awesome chemistry. And I just straight up love…
I’ve dropped a few cdramas that a lot of people don’t love, but the beloved cdramas I have dropped are: Youre My Hero - I really loved the start of it and I watched over half of it but then i lost a bit of interest. I also dropped Word of Honour when I was over halfway too - but I do maybe want to go back to that one. Also Skate into Love, it didn’t work for me. And I’ve seen almost all of Fairy and Devil which Ive enjoyed a lot of, but I just always find I’m not in the mood to finish it - but I will - I’ve got 9 episodes left. I’d not heard of Meet Yourself before but it sounds really good. And Reset has been on my list for a little while now - I need to start it - thank you!
And when Minato internally said he loves Shin so much!? And at the end when Shin told Minato to go inside their house so he could say “I’m back!” - I actually died.
