this has all the usual mdl bl comment section negativity! personally I love this a ridiculous amount! the leads are so unbelievably adorable, their interactions are all butterfly inducing! this feels like it could be my new comfort drama (even with the evil parents) the leads are just that cute and wholesome. I’m also so in love with the music - I’ve been playing it on repeat the past few weeks! this drama is just perfect to me!
what just happened!? up until now I’ve been feeling that this series is seriously average, but I just finished episode 9 and I cried three times! It had some seriously lovely moments! They are finally actually starting to use that they’ve travelled to a new universe in the plot!!! and it’s got me so invested! Learning about who Puen is was so interesting to watch, I fianlly understand his character, especially his earlier actions. And Talays conversations with his friend and with Paeng had some really heartbreaking and beautiful bits of dialogue! Also on a side note I’m LOVING Boss’s little side romance with Aou - I’m manifesting for a while that Boss gets a BL lead role soon and this is making me want it even more! I’m annoyed that it took them so long to utilise the fantasy element and that it still relies so much on cameos/callbacks to other BLs, because what they did in ep9 was so original and JimmySeas chemistry was the best it’s been! (although I did love seeing Perth back in a BL and seeing Mix playing a vet did make me chuckle) Anyway my POV on this series has done a full 180 - I’m sooo invested!
oh my goodness! I love this so so much! The leads are so unbelievably adorable. I love that they became close because they were there for each other at hard times, and now they are clearly already crazy about each other, but idont know if Ye Guang realises yet! the glimpses we’ve gotten of the second couple also make me so excited to see more of their story. Also I’m just so obsessed with the music, the theme songs been on repeat all week for me and I really want slow motion amd the song at the end of ep4 to be available now!
I’m not a fan of nearly all of News series, so I literally started the first episode, just because I was bored and remember thinking “I’m probably going to hate this so much I won’t make it past part 1 of ep1” but here I am 3 weeks later completely obsessed with this beautiful, warm and real series. I don’t have enough words to express how much this series means to me - and were only on ep4! I literally missed the characters this week - Cake is everything - but Eiw in that final scene of ep4, it was almost too real for me! Their friendship is one of the most natural and real feeling friendships I’ve seen on screen for a long time! And I feel so lost in the story when watching it, then so annoyed when the episodes end. And I’m enjoying these younger years, but am also excited to see what happens after the eventual time jump! also I just love Afterday - writing this book and Bad Buddy and then acting in this series- she’s awesome! I can’t believe it took me6 years of watching News series until I finally found 1 I love this much!
LOL…i love it too. I’m surprised the rating for this show is not higher. Could it be that fewer viewers connect…
It’s true for all jdramas on here - not just the BLs - I tend to usually only watch kdramas or cdramas with ratings over 8.0 , but jdramas rated over 7.5 are usually so good they would have at least an 8.5 rating if they were from china or Korea - it’s kind of become a joke how low rated jdramas are on mdl. I really don’t understand why- the only thing I can think of is that a lot of them seem to have a lower budget
all of my favourite dramas always have the most unhappy mdl comment sections - when it comes to BLs I can honestly say I never agree with the comment sections on here - on Twitter and tumblr everyone loves this! I like mdl for its kdrama/cdrama comment sections, but BLs are held to some crazy high standard weirdly.anyway I love this with my whole entire heart!
that ending was almost too meta for me 😂- but I absolutely lost my mind at the little shout out to My Only 12% - it’s one of my favourite dramas airing at the moment and just hearing Earth call Santa Cake made me so excited for the next episode! also can Tee please actually do what his character said here and cast Billy and Seng in a series of his, they are so talented and I need to see them in a good full length series!
I wish that mdl would separate this series into its different 5episode stories, I feel like the ratings for each of them are going to vary quite a bit, the first one was incredible, but some of the others I don’t think are gonna be that interesting to me. but maybe I’m wrong and they’ll all be fantastic!
I feel like this will for ever be my favourite piece of Thai media, BUT can Boss please make a new series, or film or anything! He did these 5 incredible episodes and hasn’t really done anything longer than 15mins since! This was his project, and I understand he put his heart and soul into this (even though I’m still sad he wasn’t really part of ipytm I get it) but it’s been 2 years, can’t he make something new now!? I just think he’s a creative genius and he’s only 31 - he’s got to make something else soon! it’s such a shame Nadao shut down because it seemed like such a free and creative sector of gmmtv, but Boss please comeback and make something at least over an hour!
I don’t know if this is just because I grew up watching a lot of English and American soaps, but has anyone else been noticing Eiws eating habits? Literally from the first scene of ep1, Cake says that he eats so little. And Eiw often says that he’s already eaten or he’s not hungry. I wouldn’t think that they’re going in an “eating disorder” direction, but they do bring up food and particularly Eiws relationship with it so much - but then i guess him not eating could be significant in other ways in those scenes too! As I said it could just be my brain thinking this because I used to watched so many soaps!
I know I’m in the minority but I am completely in love with this! i wasn’t the biggest fan of the mini series but this was PERFECT to me! I like messy drama sometimes. I know this was full of cliches but it’s the first time I’ve seen the cliches actually done well, with amazing actors and a good budget! I’ve watched BLs for 6 years but I finally love a drama which has all the cliches that usually cause me to drop it! I’m so happy with this!
how is every single character in this drama just INCREDIBLE! I mean everyone - sweet, insecure Akira, selfless in love Shin, the hidden side of Asuka, even Akiras ex! only Japan does characters this good!
Lee Do Hyun finally back in a comedy!!! He’s so talented in all genres, but I especially love his comedic roles, I’m still hoping maybe one day he’ll do another romcom!
