I’m enjoying this more each episode. I still think it’s a wasted cool fantasy concept, but finally I’m seeing this drama for what it is and not what it could’ve been and I’m liking it. Even I’ll admit that ep6 was very cute.
oh no! I’ve been avoiding all info on Eternal Faith because I was sure something would get in the way of it airing ever, but now after falling in love with Zhang Ling He in Cang Lan Jue I find out he plays Hua Cheng! I don’t want to be excited for this drama that won’t come for years!
Does anyone know in what time the show is supposed to take place? Because the calendar in the opening sequence…
I think you’re right! I think there’s gonna be a time jump or we will gradually see them grow up over the course of the series, because on the calendar it seems like they’re crossing off days leading up to 12th August 2022. also at the end of the opening sequence one of them is blonde so I’m assuming that’ll be after they leave school. And if it was current day we would’ve had at least 1 phone product placement by now!
I thought I was crazy to be so excited for this series! it seemed to have all the tropes I hate and the synopsis just didn’t seem my thing, but the trailer still caught my eye and made me really look forward to this, but I was sure my expectations were too high and I’d be so let down by the first episode, BUT no! this somehow exceeded all my high expectations!!! I’m cautiously going forward with it, because mame’s stories have so far all ended up being too problematic or off the rails for me. But currently my brain is just like: Why is this so good?! why did I like this so much!? why did I enjoy all the tropes I usually hate! why am I obsessed!?
I’m so conflicted! because Nott seems so sincere and genuinely in love with Pan, but Billy sad Nott is a really bad guy, so is it all fake? but why!? and I know Pan is not a very nice person, but his dealt with so much trauma! As I said I have so many conflicting emotions! I didn’t expect to be so invested in this series. I just really hope the others are as addictive, becase this was the only trailer that stuck out to me.
it was the last conversation of ep1 that really really got me. I thought it was beautifully shot and I liked the characters, but it wasn’t until that conversation where I really felt how good the chemistry is. it completely grabbed my entire attention and I’m so excited to see what story they’re going to tell here.
so this will be airing first while they search for new actors to take Jimmy and Tommy’s roles. I wonder how they’ll do this, they said they were continuing to shoot Bed Friend with just Tommy whilst Jimmy was off. but if they’re recasting their roles I’d assume they’ll reshoot those scenes with the new actor. I hope Jimmy takes him time and is able to get better and I’m glad Tommy made the decision to step down it wouldve been weird knowing it was supposed to be Jimmy.
I’m sorry, but I was so happy for this to be over! Because I love so many jbls I feel some weird obligation to watch every jdrama BL I come across and this is the first one I’ve not enjoyed! it wasn’t an interesting story, I didn’t love the characters and personally I felt no chemistry between the leads. I was also a little let down MBS’s last BL (Mr Unlucky) but with that one I had a lot more fun, loved the lead and thought there was enough chemistry between the cast that it was a cute, enjoyable watch. I’m really hoping their next BL is back to My Beautiful Man level of good, because that drama proved how great they can be. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Takara kun and Amagi kun!
Why do I like this!? I started the first episode thinking I’d hate it so much I wouldn’t even make it through the first part, but I was completely charmed by it instead! I’ve been in a love/hate relationship with News work for so long now that I’ve just decided he’s not the director for me, but this feels different to and more creative than a lot of his past series, like they opened with a one shot scene…in a BL! Also Santa is so charming! I saw their episode of 7 Project, and I remember he did a good job, but it doesn’t compare to how much I love him in this! He seems to be having so much fun as Cake and he’s fun to watch! And Cake and Eiw have such natural chemistry, they’ve done a great job at establishing their friendship and it’s just too cute! I also just love seeing Peak on my screen - it brings me back to years ago when I watched my first BL (Make it Right) it was terrible, but I still like seeing him pop up in things. anyway I liked this, quite a bit! I don’t know what’s coming - I’m not sure exactly what Eiw or Cake feel about each other yet, but I’m excited to see what’s to come. I don’t know if all this is just because I went in with ridiculously low expectations and I don’t know how long I’ll like this, but for now I’m in…
I was staring at the director character for so long trying to figure out where I knew him from! Then I realised it’s Tee! The real life director of some of the biggest BL series (tharntype/lovely writer) - I love that he’s playing a BL director when he is a BL director - his upcoming BL (I Feel You Linger In The Air) is one of my most anticipated of this year!
one of the best dramas with the best male lead OF ALL TIME. the og male lead is such a different role from anything AHS has ever done before so I’ll be interested to see if they stick with his personality from the OG version or they put a more serious/quiet twist to his character in the Korean version
a supporting character in 3 BLs in one year…so it seems like GMMTV is putting him in with their BL crowd - could that mean he may get his own BL? GMMTV supporting BL actors rarely become straight leads in GMMTV series so I’m hoping they’ll give him a lead BL role!
Once I stopped thinking of this as a fantasy drama with the unique premise of travelling to an alternate universe and started instead thinking of it being about 2 boys trying to make a film and falling in love I started liking it way more! it’s such a frustrating waste of an interesting concept, but I’m finally kinda enjoying it!
I kept sticking with this because I was hoping I’d start to love it, but I’m one episode from the end now and I still don’t. their relationship and Kanedas character just don’t work for me sadly - I guess I knew one day I’d finally find a Japanese BL that I didn’t like and I guess this is it! to people who love this - you’d probably hate some of my favourite BLs, we’re just lucky the BL industry is so big we have so much variety!
I’m not sure how I feel about this yet. I like lighter series but I was prepared for this to be a dark watch, so I wasn’t surprised and I expect it to get quite a lot darker! Although I didn’t expect them to make the leads so unlikeable, yet sympathetic at the same time, which I loved. If it gets too depressing I may have to drop it - that’s nothing against the series, that’s a me issue. But I have to say I haven’t seen any of these actors previous works (other than Talay) so I didn’t know what to expect from any of them and Billy and Sengs chemistry is just insane and effortless! I’m still reeling from it! Almost tempting me to give SCOY a try!
