Interestingly, when I submitted a change in cast giving a brief justification, exactly the same as in the forum, my change was rejected, and the moderator was gracious and industrious enough to give me the rejection code. Well, I wasn't industrious enough to look for what that code might mean. One begins to wonder what moderators are guided by when approving or rejecting changes? Certainly not by fact and not by argument :)

No Chinese media reports anything about the production (nothing official), neither Tencent, Xinli, the director, just no one, but the drama Douluo Continent 2 is officially confirmed? By whom? Where? Someone got the information about the cast from somewhere, or made it up. If that person's source is unofficial, we are dealing with a rumor. If it is official, what is the source? Is it some kind of state secret? Top secret? If so, there should be no mention of it on MDL.

This drama is nominated for two of the three prestigious TV awards in China, the Magnolia Awards and the Fey something.

This drama has had quite a few transitions. It is also quite uneven. Well, if the plot of one character is led by a good, experienced director, and the plot of the other character is led by the producer's son, it happens. Overall, however, it is a powerful script that faithfully depicts the problems of the military transition in China and the determination and fate of a group of soldiers. Many things are shown brilliantly, a few are shown less well and there are even some absurd and embarrassing scenes, but the overall tone is good. The drama, despite some stumbling blocks, lived up to its name.

I am not part of the fan community. I tried, but it was too toxic for me, seriously. I guess I've always had the viewpoint of a passerby who loves the actor and supports him as much as he can, but doesn't glorify him. An outsider, who is not a fan, reads such comments and is a bit... frightened because it sounds a bit radical. That's why it's worth considering what words are being used.

Angiee Le is not familiar with XZ, is not a fan, but has shown interest in his phenomenon. Love at first sight rarely happens, more often it is born by getting to know it. XZ fans felt threatened, started attacking her and some even created accounts just to more or less successfully compare liking the actor to believing in God.

Wow, if you compare liking an actor to believing in God, well, no wonder people have the wrong idea about fans. If you said liking an actor is like liking some colleague at work, school or a guy you have a crush on and can't say why, that's cool, but God? Really? And then fans are surprised that people call them fanatics :D

But rest assured, in the fan clubs of all actors/actresses/idols/singers there are people who consider them to be gods. I don't judge. Religion and beliefs in general are a private matter for each of us :)

I am surprised by the low ratings of this drama. For me, the first episode was unbearable, but somehow I got through to the second episode and just couldn't watch it. My problem was: the aesthetics, the music, the cast, the obnoxious characters without a shadow of realism and the plot idea itself. But usually my opinion definitely differs from that of the majority, and people say I'm picking on trifles. Ji Sung is one of my favorite actors (I have very few) but the characters he plays here were so unsympathetic to me that I quit this drama in order not to spoil my image of a likable actor. Gosh, I'm really surprised by such low ratings. A few weeks ago, people were rather raving about this drama.

If I may...
The thread of Tang San's past life would not pass censorship because it violates one of the prohibitions in c-ent. This drama just couldn't do it, otherwise it wouldn't have been released. If such a thread appears in a book or anime and then they make a drama out of it, they replace it in some way.
As for Ma Hongjun, I think all is not lost :)

Not everyone is disappointed. Even the author of the book was very pleased. It's just that the drama is very different from the anime and viewers who are very, maybe too attached to the anime can't like the drama. Everything in the drama annoys them because it is different from the anime. This is quite a normal reaction, there is nothing to worry about. The drama has its own charm and I personally had a great time watching it and have watched it several times.

This is the only XZ drama that I have watched once and have no intention of watching a second time. It's not some bad drama, I just don't like sweet romances, especially if FL is this type. But if someone likes light love dramas with a pinch of something more serious, they can have a great time. The actors played exactly to make the drama light and sweet with a pinch of something more serious.

Personally, I understand the negative reviews and I understand the very positive ones. In my current moemnt of life, this drama does not meet my expectations and needs, but if I were around my first love and fantasy of a future husband, this drama would be perfect for me.

Nonetheless, I rate it above average because I started to enjoy it quite a bit from a certain point, although I can't remember from which one.

So a little suggestion, if you are not an anti-fan of the actors or the genre, give this drama a chance and be patient at the beginning. Dr. Gu is sometimes Larry Stu, but in a funny way. There were a few scenes where I really laughed. This is a very good drama when you just want to have fun.

Some time ago while watching a YT channel I like (nothing to do with XZ) I heard a clever phrase that made me laugh a lot. "People argue with 12-year-olds from the other side of the world with a fervor worthy of a better cause." We don't know who our interlocutor is, whether it's a mature person with a load of life experience, whether it's a child filled with idealism and nothing else, or someone in between. Different cultures, different upbringing, different age, different views. We are overcome with emotion when we think someone is attacking something we love, and if we love very much, even an innocent word can be considered an attack. So let's all take a deep breath, everyone. Xfx should remember the lessons of 2020: "There's my point of view, your point of view and the point of view of the person watching from the side."

Dear Xfx, get your emotions under control. If someone asks why XZ is so popular, just answer that person, instead of considering them the enemy. You should be happy that someone has expressed interest in your idol and wants to understand.

Dear Angiee Le, fans in any fan club will react nervously because they are afraid of provocation or attack. This is a protective reflex to protect ourselves and those we love. XZ fans don't react worse than other actors, maybe even a little better.

Our Song season one will probably remain my favorite tv show ever for the rest of my life.

Don't watch The Untamed. I understand why viewers rave about it, but really not everyone has the same taste and don't force yourself if you don't like it.

Xiao Zhan is the real deal. In the days before 227, he was like a big brother to his fans. He admonished them to do their homework, to dress warmly, to eat well. He had a quick tongue and was direct, so sometimes he was so outspoken that no other idol would dare to do such a thing. He was hardworking, brave and sincere. He did not pose as an idol. He was his natural self. That's how you'll see him in Our Song. People always felt comfortable around him. His fans are mostly people who are unlikely to be interested in show business and often never pursued an idol, because they don't like artificial smiles, posturing, pretending. Xiao Zhan was just real, natural and sincere.

When 227 happened many people saw how this young man who just wants to work honestly was treated unfairly. They began to take an interest in him and discovered that he was a really nice guy. Not a superstar, an ordinary guy who can make you laugh or move you, who makes mistakes but tries to live a good life.

For me, the handsomeness of XZ is 6.5/10, but I like his acting. It speaks to me. To my heart. He's not always perfect, but his lack of perfection makes his characters natural. I'm not fond of his songs, but his voice usually makes me warm at heart. Just warm and sincere.

227 was incredibly cruel. Artists under less pressure give up and even commit suicide. XZ clenched his teeth and although he was humiliated every day, he did his job. This deserves respect. You can compare him to a character in a movie who is falsely accused and subjected to brutal interrogation, torture to make him confess, and he stubbornly refuses to confess. You begin to like such a steadfast person. You want him to be released and have a happy life. If, after being freed, this person, instead of seeking revenge on the invisible enemy at every turn, tries to prove his worth, you root for this person even more. Why? Because that person is worthy of your respect and support.

For me, China currently has no better actor of the younger generation. XZ is not perfect, but he is making rapid progress. He is better in every role. In the drama Ace Troops, he had some weak scenes, some average scenes, but he also had scenes that were absolutely masterful. So he has talent and he has potential, he just needs to have dramas that allow him to show it all. He has the potential to become an icon. He is different from popular artists.

If you don't understand what people might like about XZ, that's cool. Clearly he doesn't hit your taste. Other actors are good too, but they don't hit everyone's tastes either. This gives us diversity.

I personally recommend Ace Troops but not for the storyline. Just look at how the actors play there. The war and post-war episodes are amazing. The kind of emotion presented by XZ is really hard to see on current TV or cinema.
