I didnt care if u didnt do any variety show, less attend the event,or maybe not very frequently going to new year…
I think that in most fan clubs are active very young people led by slightly older professional fans. Very young people have a lot of enthusiasm, but a little less life experience, so it's easy to believe that an actor's class is measured by the number of programs he appears in. They are used to idols rather than professional actors. Therefore, don't worry about what they say. Xiao Zhan has a lot of loyal fans of all ages who know that he doesn't need to appear in these types of programs to be at the top of popularity. Xiao Zhan chooses projects prudently. With his popularity, he can't show up on many programs because he would eclipse the other contestants, yet they are the ones who need publicity, promotion, and popularity battles. So no worries. Don't get upset about what fans of other actors say. They just believe that this is the only way to success. We know that you can choose another, as Xiao Zhan did.
You are comparing two photoshopped pictures with different lighting out of context. As far as I see by what XZ…
Well, yes and no... 50 is probably a slight exaggeration :) I've known Xiao Zhan since 2018, I've been following him a little more closely since 2019 but for me personally this change is also too fast. I also have trouble getting used to his new face. But that's also the fault of his earlier image. Unfortunately, when someone crosses 30 it's like crossing a certain line. When one feels grown up, feels that it is no longer appropriate to be a teenager, well, this is the first magic line of many :) Anyway, for me it doesn't matter how old a guy looks or how old he actually is, if he is of age and has that something about him, I like him, pretty face or less pretty. For me, XZ is always 6.5/10.

People mature with age, they change. Faces that remain the same, ahem, had the help of a surgeon. A single photo does not reflect the condition of a person. I agree that XZ looks different now than he did 3 years ago. Whether better or worse is a matter of individual taste. However, XZ himself has a peculiar feature - plasticity. When the role requires it, his face can be the innocent face of a teenager or a serious middle-aged man. In the West, we generally dislike men who are too thin and look too young. First of all, they look unhealthy, secondly, a woman can't lust after a child, and when my colleague saw an old photo (2018) of XZ, she said that liking him was bordering on pedophilia. Therefore, when working with Western companies, Xiao Zhan's image will be more mature because it is measured by slightly different beauty criteria. The West simply doesn't like bishonen.
Of course, there are exceptions to everything. Very young women even in the West will prefer cute boys, but don't forget that the average age of Xiao Zhan's fans is over 30 (two years ago it was 32, I haven't seen statistics now). Xiao Zhan himself has also suffered a lot from the "little fresh meat" label stuck to him, so he is deliberately changing his image to that of a mature actor. He, at this point, is not measuring to please teenage fans and becoming a serious, environmentally recognized actor. Besides, he already reiterated in 2018 that he doesn't want to be seen only as a pretty face. Therefore, he is moving away from the image of youthful beauty. He knows that he won't please everyone, but here it's about his survival in the market and a pretty face won't give him a permanently stable position.
I like just such police series, where the characters are flesh and blood. Sometimes they are funny, sometimes a little pathetic, but they know what their job is and how to do it well.
This guy is one of my most favorite people in the world. What he does on stage with his guitar is insane! One Ok Rock concerts are a nuclear explosion of excellent music and energy. To start a band like this and keep it going for so many years takes really great talent, intellect and personality. Toru rules!
I am watching this drama for the umpteenth time and having a great time. I especially like how 2ML is written and his transformation. Someone really made an effort to make this character multi-dimensional and interesting. I just find it funny and embarrassing that in order to sell high-heeled shoes, these poor actresses have to pretend to be comfortable. No self-respecting doctor would go to work in such shoes! 12 hours in high-heeled shoes, where you have to run from one patient to another or stand at the operating table for hours? The sponsor really had a great sense of humor ;)
I just read that the reason they keep putting off airing TLP is because they want to release it the same week…
There are usually no costumed, entertaining dramas in October, and certainly no dramas where there is an expected fever online. October is a time of major national holidays in China. A few years ago there was even a total ban on such dramas for several months to maintain patriotic solemnity.
Certainly Tencent does not synchronize TLP with Anle. The end of the year is approaching and every company does annual profit and loss statements. If they need something good for statistics, Tencent will let TLP go this year. If they don't have a problem, they won't let it go until after the New Year. The situation with Anle may be exactly the same. But I sincerely doubt that the dramas are dependent on each other, because it doesn't make sense. Releasing both dramas at the same time may cause more bad than good. Anyone who has seen at least one fan war knows what I'm talking about.
i think tencent confirmed the season 2 today, 3rd November correct me if I'm wrong.ps. i don't want them to change…
At the moment I have not received any information on this subject. I have two kinds of sources - fairly serious ones who don't bother with rumors but can analyze the slightest official mention for hours, and those who love rumors. Neither of them said anything about DC2 in the context of the Tencent conference. Sorry. I suspect that this year Tencent will commit most of its resources to JoL2 and Nirvana on Fire 3 if they are the ones shooting the drama. If the scriptwriter wrote the script for seasons 2 and 3 of JoL, he may just be starting work on DC2, so shooting won't start until 2024 at the earliest.
Never going to happen: XZ as an opera singer playing female roles in old China. Impossible for many reasons, but…
Such policemen in shades of gray do not go out of fashion, as well-written and played they are really appealing personalities on the borderline between darkness and light. I guess a lot of people are attracted to such a gray area of human personality, where demons resurface and fight against good nature. Probably the easiest way to have something like this is in the police, where a person chooses this profession wanting to fight evil but constant contact with violence leaves a mark on him. It's a universal, classic and as much loved as ever. I think it's very realistic for a future XZ role. Although I think we will have to wait a few years for it. I think such a character should be in his mid-30s. You know, so that he still remembers his idealism but has had enough unpleasant experiences and disappointments to enter the gray. But of course this is my opinion, nothing more.
That's because no official source is talking about the cast yet. Of course, XZ is the first choice, but currently…
Elein is a very weak rumor. Definitely not confirmed.
You see, these types of pages can be created, added to and changed by all MDL users. You too can propose a change. EVERYONE can. A regular user proposes a change and gives an argument, such as "on this and that day there was a press conference by this and that label, which said that this and that actor will star in this and that drama." The moderator either recognizes your change or not. And some users don't even have to wait for moderator approval.
As a rule, any information posted on MDL is supposed to be official and confirmed, but there are users who, as soon as they hear a rumor, immediately post it on MDL. The rumor appears on MDL, and because this site still has a certain reputation, people think it is certain information. In two days, another rumor appears, someone enthusiastically posts it on MDL, people believe it again and chaos ensues.
I personally and many old XZ fans who remember what happened during the 227 very much dislike rumors and unofficial information. Therefore, XZ account is one of the few where there is almost always only confirmed information. This way, anyone who checks his account knows that he has definitely performed or is performing in a particular project. Just because other actors have even 6 dramas each TBA doesn't mean that they will really star in them, it just means that someone likes rumors.
DC 2 is a drama that Tencent wants to shoot, so they are gathering investors, preparing the script, and considering the cast. Of course, everyone wants most of the original cast back, including XZ without whom it won't be the same, but the actors have their commitments and it may be very difficult to gather them again. Perhaps DC 2 is just making some moves, but it is not giving any information to the public. That's why we can't confirm anyone in the cast, and we can't confirm the drama itself.
So it really all comes down to the fact that some people believe that you have to post every rumor and believe that it will come true (even if the rumors are mutually exclusive) and others only consider information that can be verified through official channels like official statements from the drama's production side. These, in the case of DC2, are absent.
Any updates on this? Xiao Zhan was listed as reprising his role of Tang San on this MDL page a couple of days…
That's because no official source is talking about the cast yet. Of course, XZ is the first choice, but currently the drama is in very early pre-production, probably only at the script stage, and before they start shooting we don't know anything for sure. This really doesn't mean that XZ won't star in the second season, just that apart from the rumors there is no information about any cast member. It's too early to lose hope :)
Li Qin or Xiao Zhan well both of their characters are better fleshed out in the later novel chapters.but i dont…
Hehe, my PhD studies are a bit of a different era, but sometimes it's hard not to look at fan behavior using a researcher's eye. Sigh. There are channels on YT of people who were in their teens 20 years ago and sometimes they mention the phenomenons that were Buffy, Harry Potter, Charmed, Beverly Hills 90210, etc. (in the States). Fans were always very emotionally attached to the characters, they transferred characters to actors, made ship and couldn't forgive that some guy was with the wrong woman what they wanted. Only then these phenomena were limited to one country, where people communicated in their own language and relied mostly on the colorful gossip press. Today, people from all over the world are arguing about it, so the chaos and noise is much greater.
This page shouldn't exist because this is was such a small rumor even the usual bloggers on Weibo didn't pick…
Ok, you totally figured me out. Yes, you and only you are a true fan of Xiao Zhan, only you can tell the difference between a true rumor and a false rumor. Anyone who disagrees with your idea of the facts is a monster, a fan of another actor jealous of the beauty of XZ. Bravo, your deduction is equal to that of Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot combined. Bravo once again! With such a high steadfastness of faith of the fans, any drama in which XZ has been gossip and will be gossiped about will come true to your delight. Totally defeated me with your dedication to the cause and faith so all that remains is for me to take my hat off, bow down to the genius and say goodbye. I will not win with you on arguments so Adios! Adieu! おさらば! Auf Wiedersehen! I promise not to get into any more discussion with you. Never again.
This page shouldn't exist because this is was such a small rumor even the usual bloggers on Weibo didn't pick…
Yes, I changed my username and will probably change it again. I'm in the mood for change, although for now I'm limiting myself to the avatar.
I know all the rumors, I've been following the topic from the beginning. I know what DC is about. I also know what is being said about DC2. But you completely ignored what I said about other productions. Just because there is an intention to make a particular drama with a particular cast doesn't guarantee that the drama will be made. I didn't write XZ would be too old, only that he might consider himself so, and yes, I think ZRY is already too old to play young men, just as many actresses over 30 are too old to play 16 year old girls, but that's not the point.
Intention is not fact. I don't know how long you've been following XZ's account and whether you've been following the accounts of other actors. By 2020 in XZ's account and in other actors/actresses' accounts even now there is every rumored drama. Do you have any idea how many times XZ's name has appeared on Mirror Tween City or the drama Spring Banquet? Or with dozens of others? Some rumors do come true, but not all. Very often, people who put a person in the cast on MDL are guided by a rumor invented by someone and their own desire to see the person in a particular drama, just like you want to see XZ in DC2. But the desire is not always reflected in reality, otherwise all the dramas I wrote about earlier would have been made. Check out the comments on Nobble Aspiration III (yet another sad story of continuation never to be).
I don't want to take away your hope that XZ will star in DC2, because it's my hope too, but this drama hasn't started production yet and hasn't made an official announcement. It does not exist yet, it is in the plans. If I post on MDL that I will be a scriptwriter for the drama that XZ will star in, do you think he will actually star in that drama?
Wishful thinking, hopes, intentions and plans, it's all like a mist that is blown away by the wind. An actor's reputation should be built on solid foundations, not on mist. Not every rumor can come true, as there are thousands of factors that can push plans or change intentions. Your argument that the person who posted the information on MDL must have access to production is invalid. You just want to believe it because you don't want to lose your dream. You treat the rumor, intention and dream as an accomplished fact. Well, it's really not the same thing.
I think I will express a popular opinion by saying that Xiao Zhan is definitely more than just a pretty face :)
Anyway, for me it doesn't matter how old a guy looks or how old he actually is, if he is of age and has that something about him, I like him, pretty face or less pretty. For me, XZ is always 6.5/10.
