Person Ji Sung
I'm curious about who are the other two from Japan and China.
Thank you for asking :)
Kaneshiro Takeshi from Japan was my first love. He delighted me in Red Cliff and then in Japanese dramas. He can really stir my emotions.
Xiao Zhan from China - I was surprised that every character he plays is different and absolutely real. His eyes have an amazing ability to express emotions and I always believe them. I see a completely different character in every new drama. He is perfect as an idiot, as a wounded youth, a gentleman, a rascal, and most recently as a tough soldier.
Ji Sung is my latest discovery and he has the best kissing scenes :)
Aha, Ji Sung and Xiao Zhan are also extremely warm people in private and very enduring. They are also brave and not afraid of challenges. They have my full respect. An actor who can be both comedic and tragic and plays trauma scenes in such a way that the viewer's heart is torn to shreds is a treasure for me :) These three can do it like nobody else.

I mean, K-Dramas are generally unrealistic. You'd enjoy it more if you'd just take it for what it is - fiction.…
Because it's not like I like everything in a certain genre or everything with a certain trope. I love legal dramas, but the main character has to be the type of guy I like, otherwise I'll hate the drama even though it's legal. Oh, it also has to be realistic legally, otherwise I'll consider it trash.
"Flower of Evil" I heartily loathe because the psychopath is incapable of feeling as shown in the series. The romanticization of the psychopath is a media absurdity that makes people fascinated with serial killers giving courage to these killers to act, because after all the media makes them so cool. And besides, the screenwriter didn't read any study on psychopaths or the psychology of crime, he just made a romantic fairy tale.
I generally don't despise stupid dramas. What I can't stand are dramas that pretend to be clever and, for example, use pseudo-specialized vocabulary but actually talk nonsense.
I also can't stand dramas where the characters are made to fit a certain template without caring about their individuality or making them realistic and real. The trauma of the protagonist is great, I like it too, but for me the consequences of the trauma have to be within reason.
I really like Yan BingYun's character from the c-drama Joy of Life. People accuse the actor of looking ugly, of being stiff and artificial, but everyone seems to forget that Yan BingYun was physically and psychologically tortured for weeks, so at this point in the story he is an emotional wreck who is somehow trying to hold on. For me, the actor played super. The craziness of the protagonist Bad & Crazy is also ok and I liked this drama, but its intensity crossed the line and there should have been a breakdown (of course split personality is a breakdown, so is the manifestation of a derivative personality) but for me there should have been a moment of tranquility and not a growing escalation of craziness. This escalation took away my interest because I felt like I was being beaten over the head with clichés instead of being given subtlety to contemplate for at least a minute.
I would love to discuss dramas with you, but maybe on Privet messege if you want :)

I also feel the same. Up until ep 8 is fine.
Can we agree that each of us has different experiences and different tastes? I think it's normal that not everyone likes the same things. It's great that people like this drama all the time, but I stopped liking it. I'm changing its status to dropped.

Realism in film is not about accurately reflecting reality, and that's not what I meant. Rather, I meant that the screenwriter intentionally loads too much tension into the character. He gives him too many traumatic experiences or throws him into too many traumatic situations. THAT is unrealistic. The cop with DID inspired by the movie "Fight Club" is still interesting, although the vast majority of cases of DID have completely different symptoms. The primary personality is out of touch with the secondary personality. I'll still put up with it since it's just a drama. Yes, I guess DID always arises from childhood trauma, but the scriptwriters gave a hook that maybe 90% of viewers will like, for me though, it was "well, no, again?"
I don't put every drama I watch on my list. There are so many that I don't remember them, I abandoned "Move to Heaven" somewhere before the end. Here, the hook was too weak and I wasn't interested in what would happen to the characters next. And cleaning up after the dead isn't something I'm particularly interested in.
I like k-dramas because they have something original and unique in them, or at least they did, because lately they've been following global trends and losing their uniqueness. I'm one of those people who have moved away from western dramas because they've started to focus too much on the surprise effect, the shock effect, and they've really forgotten about the neat plot development.
My favorite k-drama is "Secret Forest", but only the first season, because the second season - I just gnash my teeth. Oh yeah, and "Kill Me, Heal Me." I was amazed at how well they DID show. Despite the many unrealistic elements, it is wonderfully realistic. I can't describe it in a few words. Sorry. In both dramas I was invested in the plot and characters 100%
I watched the ninth episode to the end feeling bored all the time and not at all interested in what was in the past or what will happen in the future. Really this childhood friend repeating a pattern to remind ML of the past is so cliché!

I have watched 39 episodes and I am really satisfied. That surprises me to no end. Their maneuvers excite me, the old staff's behavior makes me laugh, and overall this drama gives me a lot of positive emotions. I don't remember crying as much as I did in this c-drama, but I'm crying not because I'm sad, but because the creators are playing on my emotions and I like that.

My experience watching K-drama is over seven years old. I don't think I have to be thrilled with every single K-drama. For the past three years, the level of K-dramas has been declining - this is not solely my opinion. This drama was promising to be a great one, but I'm becoming more and more disappointed. I really don't feel like continuing with the ninth episode and I guess I have the right to express my disappointment, especially because I had high hopes for something good from the first episode and for a while I got it. Now I'm getting chaos that I don't like. not a mystery I want to solve, but chaos that doesn't interest me. This drama just stopped being entertaining for me.

I'm on episode nine and have completely lost interest. I have a feeling that the creators want too much to surprise, confuse, interest, but by doing so they will lose any realism, and this is supposedly not a fantasy drama. I don't know what style or what this drama is about anymore. They made too much mish-mash, and I don't like chaos. My rating dropped from 10 to 7.5

Only if Hunan lets them.
And this is an interesting issue. For how long did Hunan acquire the broadcast rights to this drama?
Although looking at the current situation, Hunan might want to air TOOL. Yang Zi was at their New Year's Eve concert and the main factor forcing Hunan to block XZ has clearly weakened. Hunan needs something to rebuild its reputation and standing, and the example of Ace Troops shows that you can make a drama successful without playing CP.
While I was not positive about TOOL's premiere in the fall and was sure they would cancel it, I have a good feeling now. The premiere will be in May at the latest, that's my feeling. Although it could be right after the Olympics.
But a hunch is not a fact, so I am not a reliable source of information.

Perverted anime? Lost ur mind? Arrogant? LoL u clearly didn't watch anime or read novel. Most Main Characters…
If it weren't for your last sentence accusing XZ fans of lying, I would have ignored your comment. Please don't accuse someone of lying just because they have a different opinion than you, okay? Let's respect each other. Let's also learn to read other's statements with understanding. Okay? Because from what I can see, you are incredibly biased against this drama. But just because you hate this drama because it didn't live up to your expectations doesn't mean everyone has to hate it. And not all people in the world have to read a book first to watch a drama. People who haven't read it have no right to their own opinion? Or don't they have the right to watch the drama until they read the book and watch the anime? And who is biased here?
Forgive me, but I can't understand this mentality. I don't have a PhD in psychology.

Can you elaborate on that?
Oh yes, XZ has shown more than once that he is aware of his shortcomings and you can see from him that uncritical fan adoration is a burden to him. He's constantly trying to grow into the role that the fans have given him, and that takes hard work and sometimes he can just be tired.
I remember watching The Untamed thinking that WWX was more feminine than me and I was full of admiration for the actor. WWX was not effeminate, he was seductive, flirty, subtle. WOW! He cried very little, he usually laughed and that smile was like sunshine.
GYY cries a lot, but they are the tears of a "real man". This is the typical picture of a soldier with soft PTSD. You can see that production and XZ did a good reserch when it comes to this topic.
As for Tang San, I don't like that scene either, but I think the problem was that XZ recorded the audio in the studio, after a long time after filming, of the drama and couldn't quite recall the emotion of that moment. He had to re-create them, but they weren't exactly the same. Anyway, his dubbing was recorded a tad too loud compared to the rest, which made it artificially intensified.
Watching AT, I came to the conclusion that the XZ is brilliant in dramatic scenes, but has some shortcomings in regular scenes. That's why I would have loved to see him in a drama that doesn't rely on strong emotions but on ordinary life. If the rumors of this 70's drama come true, it could be a learning opportunity for him.

I don't care about rumors on TW, Weibo or such. My gut tells me that we will see this drama in spring 2022. Tencent won't miss the opportunity to make money from XZ fans, and they said that if Tencent wants their money, they have to give them a drama with XZ. Tencent needs the money and YGY isn't ready yet, so it has to be TOOL, especially since IQiyi made money from XZ and he's not even their spokesperson.

What us the relation between this and Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities ?
It's two parts of a trilogy that takes place in the same fantasy world, so the same countries are involved, but from what I can tell, the characters have no connection to each other and I think there's even a time difference. I don't know for sure, sorry. I'm only writing back because no one else has written back yet :(
I just remember that when YGY was mentioned, no one gave any importance to Mirror and didn't say that the plot was connected in any way, just that they were separate parts of a trilogy from the same universe.

Can you elaborate on that?
I think for the same reason that others think the ABC actor is the best actor in the world and you think he's hopeless.
I love XZ, I've been addicted to him since July 2019, but I don't think he's the best actor in the world. He plays very naturally, he actually becomes the character he plays and steals the hearts of the audience, but he has some technical shortcomings. It doesn't bother me too much because I perceive him as a beautiful whole, I just look through my fingers at some failed scenes. But people have different personalities and a perfectionist will not be able to accept imperfections. There are also people who value technique in an actor, not emotions. There are also people for whom emotions are a burden which they don't want to carry, so his emotionality is unpleasant for them.
The accusation against XZ that I remember the most is that his characters are such cry-babies. And the roles project the perception of the actor. WWX, which brought him such fame, also brought him disgust. No need to lie to yourself, WWX was too much of a female character and some carried that over to XZ. They pigeonholed him and he is now fighting against that image. Gu Yuye is a good way, but it's not enough.
I'm sure XZ will have plenty of new beautiful roles that will gradually win more people over to him. I don't think any actor has broken away from the label of little fresh meat as quickly as he has,

This is about male pride. She is an intelligent successful woman so he feels slightly inferior to her. He wants to be worthy of such a good woman. He believes it will happen one day, so he doesn't let her go. She is impressed by his persistence in adoring her. They are both focused on their careers, so they are in no hurry to get married. They both want to be worthy partners for each other. He cannot feel inferior towards her because it will haunt him for the rest of his life. She is the goal for which he becomes a better and better soldier. If they had married in the beginning, he would not have had this ambition and rather they would have been threatened with divorce after a failed exercise.
But there are different kinds of love and in their case, friendship, knowing that you can rely on someone, that you are adored, gave her a sense of security. Her love came from attachment to him, not from romantic overtures, just like the love between GY and Xiu.

I thought she would really marry him and repeated in my mind: "It's not fair, he can't say no!" :)
A specialist will appear. I suspect a former girlfriend of GYY, who became a doctor in the States, will appear. I saw a short trailer without subtitles. GYY asked her something, and then I saw her as a doctor at the operating table. These are my guesses, but I bet $1 that they are accurate. The drama's main trailer had scenes with GL that weren't in AT yet. He and GYY still have 20 years ahead of them as soldiers, so GL must be fit enough to return to special forces.

No, it was after 1994, as Gu Yiye recalled a terrorist attack from that time. As for the hair, I saw my cousin's wedding photo today. She got married just in the 90s and had an equally nightmarish hairstyle :) Although her dress looked more like Sgt. Han's dress.
