But GYY's storyline after his friend's death was also drawn out, as was his engagement to A-Xiu. I think those are the moments where the viewer is supposed to stop and slowly, quietly, observe the changes taking place in the characters. These are key moments of transformation, of victory over one's own weakness, so they need to be shown properly. The viewer must have time to go through this transformation together with the characters. After all, all three of them undergo certain transformations in every serious situation. It's just a thought.
let me know if my comment is too political i will delete it
As far as I'm concerned, the comment is not overly political, but it is historically incorrect. Sorry, but I'm a historian so I have to correct you that the Cultural Revolution, which is a disgrace even in the eyes of the Chinese themselves, took place in 1966. It was a bloody, cruel event, the replay of which people feared in early March 2020 because again someone started manipulating children and persuading them to violence. If not for the pandemic and the fear of it, there probably would have been riots in several cities in China. The 1980s were a slightly different transition, including culturally, but it involved more of a move away from hardline communism. Rather, they involved rapid technological advances around the world, including in China. The Gu Yiye generation was born after the Cultural Revolution. Gu Yiye was treated well. I didn't see a single sign that anyone mistreated or discriminated against him. At most, he was teased for being a rich boy, but he was respected, especially because his father was a teacher in the army and an officer. Sorry, I had to correct that.

You're welcome. I just happened to be lucky enough to watch this show almost live. Almost, because it wasn't until around December that the show went live on YT. Before that I could only watch pirated versions and the original episodes weren't until Thursday, so I had two days of fun. To this day I remember how much I was looking forward to those episodes. I think Faded was the first official clip on YT posted right after the show ended, and then the full episode appeared as early as Sunday and the live episodes were only available towards the end of the show. Forgive me for writing so much. I've been immersed in beautiful memories :) Xiao Zhan wasn't that popular back then, so there wasn't that much of it on YT. Shanghai TV was also just starting with entertainment programs (if I remember correctly Our Song was the first one) so the beginnings were difficult, but it only took a few episodes for everyone to fall in love with XZ and the show, so after that it went off without a hitch. Oh, I'll also add that the music channel was already created after the 227 incident broke out, so the fact that the new official channel has XZ on the banner (it had it until the fall) and creates compilations of clips with songs sung by XZ was something wonderful for Xfx Heiy said everyone was boycotting XZ, and Shanghai TV never disavowed XZ.
If you are considering whether to watch this drama and reading the comments to get the opinions of those who have seen it, you may come across extreme opinions. Fans of anime usually dislike this drama very much. Xiao Zhan fans tend to enjoy it. My opinion - I could not watch the anime, I could not accept its aesthetics. Twelve-year-old girls who look like the protagonists of perverted anime are not my cup of tea. I've never in my life seen a twelve-year-old girl have breasts bigger than her head, and I have sizable breasts myself, but not at twelve. Sorry. Plus, the kids in the anime are so arrogant and smug that if I were their mother, I'd beat their asses. That's why I found the drama very enjoyable, realistic, funny, and warm. Yes, it's a bit infantile, but it's a drama for young viewers about loyalty, friendship, and getting better. Naturally Tang San is adorable, but every character here has their own charm and I really like probably all of them. The music and shooting style are novel, so that may not appeal to a certain group of viewers either. However, for me it was an escape from boring dramas that repeat the same patterns. Douluo Dalu is different, unique, and what is unique has many supporters but also many opponents. It's best to watch the first two episodes and decide for yourself if you want to continue watching.
can someone please tell me why it says xiao zhan appeared on it in 2019 but all clips on youtube are of last year…
Additionally, Shanghai TV Official Channel in 2020 opened a special music themed channel and they put all the clips from Our Song with them. These are sister channels with very similar logos. There was also a replacement of the originally placed clips because tv removed the logos and some news subtitles. You may see a blurry bar on some of the clips - these are ads and commercials that have already expired but were in the program. And besides, tv didn't immediately post clips from Our Song. It wasn't until after a few episodes that they realized people on YT really needed it (there were plenty of pirated clips) so they gave the official ones. It was just the beginning, so it wasn't all ripped together yet. But surely Shanghai TV didn't expect the show to be so successful.
This is one of the few dramas I look forward to and I really hope it will be done well. Li Yifeng is my first Chinese love. Although I'm not a fan of his per se, but his acting has always given me a lot of pleasure. I'm afraid this drama will disappoint my expectations so I try not to have any and not expecting anything good to enjoy every well done scene.
Too many, which is why none are reliable. My own prediction - February, or March, when the annual subscriptions…
After all, that's what you do with cows, right? Seriously, in my opinion, Hunan is to blame for everything :( Hunan belongs to a different corporate group than Tencent. They merged for an experiment, but it was a misguided marriage and divorce quickly followed. And as always, in a divorce, it is the children who suffer the most. Poor TOOL :( But it looks like the family court is about to terminate Hunan's parental rights and TOOL will come to play with us :) I sincerely hope it will be in the spring of 2022.
I disagree with OneLuffy, but you have also been misled before, perhaps unintentionally. AT is a drama trbiut…
Your statement is just "I, I, we, we. We're the only ones who are right, we're the only ones who know right, only this actor is the best, truly our god, and the rest can drop". That kind of arrogance is exactly the worst thing about fandom. It is precisely this kind of behavior that fans are paid for by idols. Such fans should learn humility and follow the four XZ Studio guidelines announced in May 2020. There are more people in the world than you and your ilk. Accept that. Not everyone who has a different opinion than you is your enemy. Can you kindly stop provoking and insulting me? This is my last comment towards you and I will block your account in a while. Everything has its limits and your harassment towards me has long exceeded them. I hope you can enjoy GY and AT, instead of seeing demons everywhere.
I disagree with OneLuffy, but you have also been misled before, perhaps unintentionally. AT is a drama trbiut…
I have been following Xiao Zhan since July 2019. I saw a lot of deliberate lies, manipulations and the repetition of unreliable information that people believed in as in the Bible. I have been lied to myself more than once and repeated false information myself, believing it to be true. Once. But 2020 has taught me that even big accounts must not be rashly believed because many of them are fans just for the money and change their skin when the wind blows. I have experienced it. I set up this account to fight the rumors that swarmed at the beginning of 2020. I have not called anyone a liar. From what I can remember someone called me a liar and is now trying to reverse the situation. In August 2020, AT started its shooting. Xfx were delighted to have XZ on set. None of us knew what his position was because there was no official information. Nothing. So-called credible rumors said it was one of the two MLs. We accepted it happily and ran a merry campaign. This scandal hit us in May 2021 and everyone withdrew their support. There was silence. Xfx spoke with one voice - we do not fight, we do nothing, we are waiting for the development of the situation and guidance from XZ. For months, AT did not exist for Xfx. At that time, there were probably talks and negotiations between XZ and AT behind the scenes. None of us know the details because they took place behind closed doors, not in public. Have you ever heard of the confidentiality clause? Therefore, no one disclosed the details. If someone claims to know them - yes, I accuse him of a lie. The penalties are too high for anything to leak into the media. When AT launched, the first thing fans noticed was XZ's position in the cast. Oh, double ML, it means there's an agreement. This means that AT has decided to step down. Of course they did it for wealth benefit, but they did it anyway. XZ promotes his character as Tang San promoted before, which means that he accepts the final shape of the drama. Information on the removal of scenes involving XZ has always been purely a rumor. Following AT to Episode 29 I can confidently say that each of the three main characters has gaps in the script and "cut" scenes. Look at how incomplete the GL thread is. In my opinion, and I will not change it, AT tells about the evolution of the Chinese military, it is a drama for all soldiers. We have a collective hero here, and the individual characters are just representatives of the different paths that soldiers can take. Of course, to gain viewers and emphasize the emotional side, we also have private threads here, but the protagonist is not GY, ZNJ or GL. Every Chinese soldier is a hero. Am I not entitled to such an interpretation? If I like XZ, don't I have the right to my own opinion? So whose sentence do I have to say, big Vs? Each of us has the right to our own opinion. Let us respect each other. It probably shouldn't hurt.
Sorry to interject, but it seems to me that these are two separate issues. The subject of a total BL ban has been…
A lot of dramas based on BL have been made in China lately. A lot, really. Each of these dramas, from these books, has a huge fan base. Long time ago BL fans behaved prudently and rationally, but probably since Amphetamine Addict, BL fans have gone beyond their circle and started to create real life CP. Actors from every drama to this day are subjected to more or less pairing up with gay lovers. Fans have demanded that actors kiss in public and this is an insult to customs in Confucian culture. Some people still convince me that the actors are lovers in real life (I'm talking about any drama based on BL). These fans feminize the actors by practically violently taking away their masculinity. You may not have encountered such cases, but I have encountered them all too often. As for idol-making programs, it's a sick industry that encourages uncontrolled consumerism. To vote for your favorite boy or girl, you have to buy a product. One product is one vote. You want your favorite to win, you have to buy unlimited. I know of several such cases. Capital exploits the gullibility of fans. Fans become mindless money-making machines and disrupt the social peace. An idol, or role model, is no longer a young man who represents some values, but someone pretty, whom the label can manipulate and feminize for the sake of getting huge money. This is not about banning people from anything. It's about containing the terrible chaos that has been going on for some time. Just like how the theme of rebirth in the past is banned in dramas. After that ban was imposed, the number of suicides among young people dropped significantly. I know the current ban is a huge blow to BL fans, but for the past three years I've been constantly hearing admonitions coming from China, admonitions from ordinary citizens to come to their senses. I don't follow k-ent as much as c-ent, but I've heard that many countries have reservations about their idol culture and have put some restrictions in place too. This is not about discriminating against delicate men, but about snatching them from the clutches of the greedy machine of industry. These men sign slave contracts and then are forced to adopt the unnatural for them posture of an effeminate idol because that is what the public demands. But of course this is only one interpretation. I'm not trying to convince anybody, I'm just presenting a point of view. I've personally experienced such absurd behavior from some fans that it's hard for a sane person to imagine. It's as if the anonymity of the Internet allowed them to get crazy.
So I guess it permanently ban nowβ¦there will be no way for WOH to put on the shelf in China. They made it officially…
Sorry to interject, but it seems to me that these are two separate issues. The subject of a total BL ban has been talked about in China for a long time. There were already very serious restrictions in 2018. The authorities introduced the restrictions gradually and observed the situation. Since some fandoms were behaving extremely irrationally, the authority imposed a total ban. The ZZH case is something completely different. Nobody treated it as an excuse. His situation has nothing to do with BL's ban. All dramas with ZZH have been withdrawn.
I for one was honestly surprised at how much GY is in this drama. After all the rumors I expected it to be 1/4 of what I've seen so far. For me, from the beginning, August 2021 was a drama where GY is one of the three protagonists and at some point he steps down from the romance battle. I was surprised at how much of his storyline there was so far. They showed his father, his ex-girlfriend - more than for GL. But, of course, these are just my impressions. Maybe I had different initial expectations than you, so I'm not disappointed, but pleasantly surprised. I think every viewer has a slightly different perspective on a subject, so we can exchange our impressions, insights and interpretations. And that's the beauty of watching dramas :) And yes, XZ is excellent. I couldn't stop crying for two episodes. I think everyone who watches drama knows which ones.
I disagree with OneLuffy, but you have also been misled before, perhaps unintentionally. AT is a drama trbiut…
If you want to know who I am, read my posts from March 2020 and later. I withdrew from MDL precisely because of such fans who, under the influence of emotion instead of accepting three views without thinking, accuse others of lies and falsehoods. Do you believe what people say on TW? How can you be sure they are telling the truth? In 2020 more on TW was black than reason. None of us have accurate information. Your TW sources don't either. These things are covered in secrecy and not made public and the "people on the set" stories could be as made up as many other rumors. If you publicly accuse anyone of lying, back it up with evidence, otherwise you become an irrational fan or who has zero tolerance for anyone or anything who has a different perspective on the situation than you and your TW idols. Each of us has different life and work experiences and different personalities, making our perspectives on things different. I was surprised how much there was XZ for episode 27. I was expecting a lot less. At the time of the engagement, it was supposed to be a double ML, not a single. Both actors were ML. I remember this perfectly not from TW, but from Chinese sources like Weibo. My heartfelt request, instead of denigrating someone, learn to tolerate three views. Peace, sister.
Everyone keeps saying "they cut his scenes," but where is the evidence for that? I've watched 27 episodes and I rather get the impression that Gu Yiye's storyline is very much developed. This is not a biographical drama about Gu Yiye, but about the transformation of the whole army. If viewers look closely, every character has scenes that weren't shown, only mentioned. Each. The entire production contains 40 years of the life of not only Gu Yiye, but the entire 720 and much of the 700. Yes, there were rumors of scenes being cut, the whole plot, but it's been well over half the series and GY's character is being treated very fairly. From what I've heard and what I could guess based on certain movements and what I see in AT, the creators were convinced to go back to the original version. Obviously they didn't do it out of love for the actor, just for the money, but the calculation was simple - either they bring GY's storyline back to its fullest or they lose money because of the scandal. They restored his thread to its fullness. And at the end, during the shooting of each production more material is created that will never appear on the screen, unless in the director's version. The director's cut of "The Return of the King" was much more interesting, but almost an hour longer than the cinematic version. "Dune" is said to have seven hours of excellent unused material. I can bet that every actor has scenes that should be in AT, but then the series would have 70 episodes. Also, some scenes are intentionally cut to leave room for the audience to imagine. Our grey cells need to work too :)
It's just a thought.
