An appeal to all reasonable people: don't be fooled by the black obsession. Some comments here are as black as coal. Really, all the positive reviews are from uncritical fans of the actor, and the negative ones from completely unbiased citizens? You didn't like the movie (although I doubt you've seen it) cool, express your opinion and disappointment (why did you even spend money to see a movie with an actor you hate?), but your antiwork to sow as much hatred as possible is a tad exaggerated ;)

In the second half of 2023, XZ was on the set of Legend of Condor Heroes: the Galants. The film is scheduled for release on January 29, 2025. In the first half of 2024, he was on the set of the drama Zanghai. In the second half of 2024, he was on the set of another film. That Tony plays there I know, but I don't know who and I don't know the guy, so I can't add the link even if it was in the trailer, because I don't know which guy it is. :( You can add yourself by modifying the actor/film account, or if you prefer, leave me a comment here with the information: actor, character, link (minute). If you do it yourself, it will be faster because without an intermediary, but if you do not want to do it yourself, I can mediate.

1. You have confused threads in two separate topics. This topic and my reply were created before the first trailer was displayed, which I have already pointed out twice. Check the dates, please.

2. I don't understand what you mean when you say that I'm trying to discourage people from watching dramas featuring XZ? It's all the same to me if someone watches such a drama. I believe in free will. If I find a drama unworthy of recommendation, I write about it, but it has nothing to do with XZ, because a lot of dramas, and more and more lately, get negative comments from me, and it's related to a general decline in production quality. If you go to the list of dramas I've watched and ratings you'll see that I'm very critical regardless of the actor, because I rate the entire production. I don't know if “all” people will fall in love with him if he stars in a romantic drama, because The Oath of Love and Sunshine by My Side were romantic dramas after all, but he would certainly gain a new wave of fans. My point was perhaps more that at a certain stage in their careers, actors begin to avoid these types of productions and measure themselves against something that in the film world is considered more serious acting. If you look at award-winning productions at renowned festivals, romantic dramas are unlikely to appear. I think XZ at this point is more interested in proving his versatility as an actor than in gaining more popularity. And he can gain popularity with any new production, just in slightly different circles. E.g., romances are mostly aimed at women (and xianxia), while wuxia and tales of revenge carried out by ML rather target male viewers. For that, it will avoid toxic CPs.

I see a lot of people asking about the release in countries other than China. Maybe I'll state the obvious, but I think it's easiest if you check the repertoire of your cinemas online. I checked IMAX premieres in my small European country and the film is not listed. It won't be in distribution right now. But in our country even Hollywood hits can have a 6 month delay.

Will this movie be available on an online platform? Yes. Usually such films hit the platforms about 2 months after they drop from theaters.

I estimate that worldwide distribution will be influenced by two factors - box office in China and hype on social media worldwide. For people who like to get involved, I suggest they start doing some interesting promotion of the film on XiaoHongShu, which is now taking the States by storm, and such promotion will hit both markets. If the film is a hot topic on XHS, it may speed up distribution in the West. You know, there is demand, you have to make supply :)

It's the final few chapters of one of the volumes, not the whole book. I think it's 6 chapters from chapter 34, correct me who knows exactly. It actually focuses on one event, i.e. the battle for a certain defense fortress, not the entire life of GJ.

This movie isn't just about XZ, so let go of your vilification of me. If the movie is good, I'll be the first to praise it, if it's bad, I'll be the first to say so.
