Just a curious question why isnt zhan zhan doing any romantic dramas i think he looks so good in those dramas
Probably because a certain toxic CP fandom tortured him, his fans, all the actresses he played romantic roles with, and their fans so much that everyone is fed up and doesn't want a repeat of that experience. That's one. Two, his career is heading towards more serious acting that isn't based on good looks but on talent. Roles in romances are generally not very demanding acting-wise, although that's just my opinion.

I'm sorry, I didn't make it to the end, so I don't know the details, but I do remember there was some discussion about whether or not they met at the end. Something like: she stands, suddenly senses his presence, but the viewer doesn't quite see if he came back and they could start their life together, or maybe it was just her dream. Sorry, I can't give a better answer.

Title The Untamed
is this bl? the novel is so just asking for opinions
If you want to see BL there, you will see BL. You'll probably see it if you know about the book, although I, knowing about the book, didn't see BL there. People who didn't expect BL just ordinary xianxia, got ordinary xianxia, quite pleasant to watch, without romance, just with a mass of more or less handsome guys (a matter of taste).

Title The Untamed
After a 5 year of brake, I'm watching The Untamed. In fact, probably for the 12th time since release. I perfectly understand why this series is so beloved - in every episode it gives emotional fulfillment and is strongly based on the natural desire of women to protect ML. In this aspect, and in terms of ML's presentation, the viewer receives a great deal of positive, although often heartrending, impressions. However, this does not change the fact that most of the scenes in The Untamed are shot poorly, if not pathetically in terms of technicality. The fight with the goddess statue, the turtle, or any fight scene, ugh, shame on the words. It doesn't bother you - good for you, however, it does bother me, so I absolutely cannot consider this drama a masterpiece, or even a drama above average. Sorry. If you want a strong emotional experience - this drama is 100% for you. If you are sensitive to production quality - prepare to be disappointed. Unless the story captivates you so much that you stop noticing the very bad quality. And it probably will.

Which project is he currently filming?
None. He is not on any set right now.

Most likely, he’ll be intensely focused on promoting the film in the near future, and probably won’t start working on any new projects until mid-February, or even later.

Is there any new project for xiao zhan??
Currently, we don’t have any official information. Most likely, he’ll be intensely focused on promoting the film in the near future, and probably won’t start working on any new projects until mid-February, or even later. While commenting on Weibo Night, a YouTuber mentioned that XZ has slimmed down again, so it’s possible he’s physically preparing for a new role, but for now, everything is very quiet on that front.

It’s likely that all ‘melons’ are being held back to avoid distracting from the film, which premieres on January 27th. So even if something does come up in the meantime, I’d advise taking such a melon with a grain of salt.

I guess saying your biggest problem is Xiao Zhan made everyone think you're criticizing him and his acting (not…
In fact, it was not you who did not follow the unwritten rules, it was these unwritten rules that betrayed the ideas behind XFX.

As I mentioned, I have liked XZ since 2018, but I became an active fan at the beginning of 227 and created an account on MDL to fight fake news. The reason for the scale of 227 was simple – the hatred from all sides towards Xiao Fei Xia, who were a disgustingly arrogant and loud group insulting everyone. (And, unfortunately, these were the new fans who appeared with The Untamed, because his fans from the pre-X-Nine era were one of the sweetest fan groups in the world, supporting him without harming others, so effectively that thanks to their positive support, he got into X-Nine.) The unprecedented attack on the actor led to deep self-reflection, and XFX adopted the principle of the 'three views' conveyed by XZ.

XFX became an exemplary fan club that could laugh at XZ, criticize him, and support him despite everything so much that he could back in the position of a star. Those times are gone, and new fans do not understand that supporting an actor is not about being completely uncritical, but about kind criticism, because only constructive criticism helps us grow. XZ has nothing against such criticism; he has always taken it to heart to become better at what he does.

During 227, fans did not treat him as an infallible god but as a valuable, flawed human being who gave his all to grow. Perfection cannot develop because it is already perfect. If we deem someone perfect, we take away their opportunity for growth and self-realization.

So even if I or anyone else were to criticize XZ or another actor, as long as I or they do not use vulgar words, curses, or insults, no one should use them against us or try to expel us from a public forum dedicated to a production (or actor) that is not private property of any actor's fans.

A drama/film is the work of hundreds of people, and anyone interested in the drama/film, for any reason, has the right to express their opinion. Fans too, but their personal attacks are essentially hatred and a return to the worst side of being a fan, which XZ has always condemned and fought against, repeatedly asking fans to respect the opinions of others, even if they are unpleasant for them.

I guess saying your biggest problem is Xiao Zhan made everyone think you're criticizing him and his acting (not…
Thank you, you are the first person who could read something more than “XZ is my problem” in my comment, or at least the first to let me know about it. So if you have the patience and willingness, I'll explain.

I fell in love with XZ's acting while watching Fights Break Sphere (2018) in late 2018. It was my second C-drama after dozens of K-dramas and J-dramas. I knew nothing about C-ent and this drama, actually Lin Xiu Ya, delighted me. Not because of his pretty face, but because of his whole presence. It stood out because it was real. He wasn't acted, he was real, natural. My other drama with XZ was The Untamed, watched after dozens of dramas where the actors are wood. Almost everyone loved XZ as WWX - he was phenomenal. It wasn't a perfectly acted role, but that was its charm. WWX was not played, he was real. He stood out from other characters, too wooden or played almost caricatured because the actors were trying too hard. And that's what the acting style in China looks like to me - wooden or exaggerated. XZ has always, in every one of his old dramas, stood out from theirs with his naturalness (gosh, I lobe Ji Chong an Yan Bing Yun!). At some point it started to bother me. It's not because XZ acts badly - it's because I would like all of C-ent to act like him. But so far it is not, so he stands out like a badly hammered nail. It introduces a certain artistic dissonance.

What's with my reference to Marlon Brando? If any of you have seen the old movies, they are played theatrically. The actors are exaggerated, unnatural in their behavior. That was the style at the time. The role of Marlon Brando I mentioned above is considered groundbreaking in Western film circles, because he was the first to not play his part, he embodied his character by making it natural, real - exactly how XZ plays. All you had to do was check on the Internet, or ask, as you did, to know that I was comparing XZ to an actor who changed the face of acting forever. It was enough to check, or ask, but no, XZ fans attacked like a mindless herd turning into mindless haters. But some are so clueless that they can't tell the difference between an opinion on a trailer and an opinion on a movie. They can't distinguish between criticism of a poorly executed element in the film/trailer (e.g., a CGI scene) and criticism of an actor they worship. For Chulak's sake (that's from “Stargate SG-1”), just because someone noticed poorly done CGI in a one-minute trailer for a movie doesn't mean they hate the whole movie just because an actor is playing there.

There are actors I heartily loathe and don't watch anything with them, but you won't see me on the forums of those actors or dramas. I only criticize what I have watched and in which there was something to criticize. Because I don't mindlessly accept as 10/10 everything in which a particular actor plays. I see when the wall of a supposedly stone cave trembles under an actor's touch. I hear when the music totally takes me out of the mood of the scene. And I will never apologize for seeing when an actor is so artificially placed in CGI that it beats the eyes like in the twenty-third second of that wretched trailer. And I don't care if there is worse CGI in other films, because here I am judging this production and demanding the best from it. And if in the eyes of the actor's silly fans this is an insult - well, their parents didn't raise them, the school didn't raise them, and I'm not going to raise them either.

I decided not to argue with you, it's not worth it. You have the opinion about me that you have, you like to draw such and not other conclusions - your business. If you always and everywhere see attacks on your beloved Xiao Zhan, then I am sorry for you. I forgive you for calling me a hater without understanding my words or trying to understand them - according to you, I am was and will always be Xiao Zhan's enemy - if such thinking makes you happy, ok, I accept it. Well then, happy Christmas, Hanukkah or whatever you celebrate, or just have a nice day. I accept your overbearing of me, maybe you will someday understand that rashly jumping to conclusions and publicly calling someone a hater is a form of online violence, and in a few years you will be ashamed. In any case, happy life!

Well what you want to say please say it clearly
I said it clearly - in this trailer there is good CGI and there is bad CGI and Xiao Zhan stands apart from the rest in terms of acting just as Marlon Brando stood apart from the rest in a groundbreaking role for the entire acting style. Like Brando Xiao plays very naturally, which is in stark contrast to the current style of acting in China. I don't understand what is unclear here that I have to repeat the same thing.

Make up your mind! You say "I watched the trailer in very good and in very bad quality" but you also say that…
„Why don't you wait to see the film so that you can give a broader review and you can clarify whether the protagonist's performance is as bad as you say?” My dear, could you kindly point out where exactly I said the protagonist's performance is bad? Let me clarify for you: it is not the protagonist who performs but the actor. Since I can tell the difference, I would hardly make the absurd claim you’re attributing to me.

What is amusing, however, is the eagerness of certain individuals to feel offended on behalf of their idol and, in doing so, completely misinterpret my words. This overzealousness leads to accusations and melodramatic leaps in logic, as seen in your comment.

It’s also quite funny that while praising the film, you still insist I criticized the actor – oh, I’m sorry, in your words, 'the protagonist.'

And since you seem so fond of giving unsolicited advice, let me quote someone you might know: “If the slightest criticism of your comment bothers you, then you know what to do.” :)

No.
My, how sharp. I normally murdered your mother, or what? So immediately on the knives with me? Oh, why? And it didn't occur to you that having no production photos, no trailer, just nothing, I couldn't imagine it? Really everything is for you in the criteria of “either you idolize or hate”? There really isn't a zone in you where a person can judge the quality of a production because of the production and not whether a famous actor plays there? I couldn't imagine Tsui Hark making this movie and in your eyes this is a crime? Oh, sensitive being, I dread to think what will happen when your parents stop supporting you and you have to enter the adult world, where people don't play to adore or hate actors, only to the quality of the production. But that's not my problem :)

Make up your mind! You say "I watched the trailer in very good and in very bad quality" but you also say that…
My dear, before you start accusing me of anything, educate yourself in the area of film culture, maybe do a little reaserch, and only then throw accusations. If you think that comparing Xiao Zhan to Marlon Brando is an insult to XZ, you'd better think about what you're saying and don't make an idiot of yourself.

And as for special effects, do you mean practical effects or CGI? Because if you claim that it has less CGI than other productions, then wait for the whole movie and only then comment, because it may turn out that there is more than you think :)

And anyway, why write warnings when there will still be a group of oversensitive people who have no idea what they are offended about, but get offended because it is in fashion. Well, such times.
If even the slightest criticism of the film/trailer offends you, for your own good don't read my comment.

For such a high-profile and supposedly prestigious production, I hoped that there would be no clumsy CGI, but there is, unfortunately. I watched the trailer in very good and in very bad quality and there are scenes where you can see the shoddiness. But there are also scenes that are very pleasing to the eye. In general, my biggest problem is Xiao Zhan, because his acting style is too far from that present in Chinese productions. He is like Marlon Brando in A Streetcar Named Desire.

I'm thinking about to watch this drama, but I'm not sure yet.Can someone please let me know, what this drama is…
I watched the first few episodes and it didn't click with me. The drama is about a police officer who has been drugged, loses his gun and becomes the heir to his friend who betrayed him in high school and has now committed suicide/has been murdered - the investigation is supposed to show this. Despite my great sympathy for Ji Sung, I found his character antipathetic from the beginning and disliked him more with each episode. There was no one here whom I had even the slightest sympathy for. That's why I dropped it. I came across this forum because the drama has high ratings and I was wondering if it might be worth it after all, but I'm unlikely to wach it. My problem is that ML does everything wrong. I don't like cops who are cowards and can't take responsibility for their actions, and that's the kind of cop our ML is in the first episodes. Whether he has changed, I don't know, I don't care. But since the ratings are so high, maybe you should try a few episodes and judge for yourself?
