I enjoy this movie so much. Must watch! Some touching moment too. Xiao Zhan is awesome. He doesn't look 'dumb'…
She was submitted, but I had no info on what her character's name was (I only had Chinese), so due to lack of data the submission was rejected. You can make a modification to the movie or actress account as “edit this page, cast” and the moderator will then approve it. It's a good idea to include a link to some page where there will be the name of the actress and the character written in the Latin alphabet.

I don't know if the question is still relevant, but I happened to be on this forum, so I'll answer as I see it.…
But I really don't care about your obsession with ZYL. My proof that romances are usually classified as idol dramas is almost all Chinese romance dramas that were produced during the idol era and their cast. The actress who keeps you up at night, as if she had at least dismembered and eaten your mother, started her career before the idol era, so the concept of idol dramas didn't even exist back then.

Seriously, I'm asking you—please let it go, because you're disturbing the peace of this forum and going off-topic. For some reason, speaking badly about someone seems to bring you joy, as if you have a mission to "save" us poor ignorant fools with your "truth," but the real truth is that your obsession achieves only one thing—people ignore you. Just like I will from now on.

People who show up everywhere trying to convince everyone that someone is the embodiment of the Antichrist are just terrifying, and no one wants anything to do with them.

So, I wish you a nice life and goodbye.

I appreciate your input, but my original comment wasn’t meant to debate Zhao Liying’s marketing or industry politics. I was simply sharing an observation about how agencies and actors navigate their career choices. The perception that romance dramas are often linked to idol actors exists in the industry, whether you agree with it or not.

As for the actor in question, my point was that his agency likely has a specific career trajectory in mind for him, and he personally may not have the passion for acting. That is all. Whether someone is suited for serious roles or idol dramas depends on their individual skills and ambitions, not just industry trends or marketing narratives.

Also, please refrain from making inappropriate comments about actors. Your strong negative passion toward them is your own issue. I ask that you exercise some self-control when posting on a public forum, as public spaces are not your personal playground where you can say whatever you want without regard for others. Please, show some respect for other users and do not push your hate on them.

I’m not sure how this drama received such high ratings, maybe I need to rewatch it? Bc I watched it while it…
I think you remember this drama quite well. Personally, I rated it very highly, not because of the main couple, but because of the second couple. To be honest, Bo Na, whom I couldn't stand at first, really captivated me in the second half, and for me, all my attention shifted to the second couple. I also really liked Ji Chong, so for me, the second half was carried by this couple, and their interactions were absolutely adorable.

I think many girls/women watching this drama found satisfaction in the second couple, which is why the negative emotions surrounding the main couple were overshadowed. And I believe there were also some people who enjoyed those tragic misunderstandings because Goodbye My Princess is, in my opinion, a very similar drama (they were filmed at the same time) and was extremely popular. So, there are definitely many fans of such melodramas, which is also evident from the popularity of certain books.

I don't know but I want some of his new romance drama. Can someone please tell me that why he didn't do romance…
I don't know if the question is still relevant, but I happened to be on this forum, so I'll answer as I see it. I may be wrong.
1 Because he served his label as a showcase for capital for many years, the agency pushed for more prestigious projects. Romance does not count among such. As someone already said, romances are usually idol dramas. They are for actors who don't have the powerful support of their company, or for actors who simply specialize in the genre. There's nothing wrong with the genre itself, but it generally doesn't come across as challenging or demanding of acting skills.
2. the agency is very fond of the capital of a certain CP group and does not want to risk losing its support. A new CP would be too risky.
3. once an actor/idol has embarked on a more ambitious path, it is difficult for him/her to return to a less ambitious one, as this involves another risk.

In addition, it seems to me that he has no passion for acting at all. He played in dramas because an idol should play in dramas and everyone does, but now he is an adult and it seems that he is not thinking about developing an acting career. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my impression.

As for his new project—the truth is, I’m not even trying to guess what it will be because it could be almost anything. It’s almost certainly not going to be BL, xianxia, teen romance, or anything in the style of an idol drama.

I think many fans will agree with me when I say that I want to see him in a visually stunning role. I know he can act, and I know he excels in dramatic scenes, so in my opinion, he has nothing left to prove. That’s why I want him to star in a comedy where he looks absolutely gorgeous. I don’t care if he’s a 007-style spy, a wandering martial arts master, a proud CEO, or a scholar in the Ming dynasty—it just needs to be fun and pretty.

Though, let’s be real… we’ll probably end up with some psychological drama where he plays yet another average guy in unflattering clothes and a painfully bland haircut. ☹

Hi, Dominique! Unfortunately, nothing on my end either. Our Chinese minority is too small, and Chinese films haven't been popular here for about 25 years. The closest screening would be in Germany, but that's 700 km away, and the movie would be in a language I don't understand. So, like almost everyone else, I'm patiently waiting.

I want to watch it with English subtitles but I don't know where to watch it.
So far, this film is only available in theaters.
All you can do is monitor if a version with matching subtitles appears in your country, or wait for streaming, which will appear in a few months. We don't yet know when exactly.
I was serving around the web and came across an interesting analysis. I recommend it to those who are confused by the bizarre comments, usually extremely negative, against LOCH: The Galants. The analysis is interestingly presented, concise and, in my opinion, very accurate. I'm not familiar with the channel, I just recommend this report. It's also a nice analysis regarding the whole C-ent, so if you're a fan of any actor/actress/film that is undergoing a black hate campaign, you can learn about the mechanisms of that campaign.

This forum is not swarming with haters. One person—just one—meets the objective criteria of a hater. If this person appears to multiply before your eyes, maybe you're seeing Legion. You're waging war where there is no enemy, disturbing passersby, and mindlessly tormenting the innocent. But you know what? You're right—it makes no sense for me to care about someone so hypersensitive, someone who tarnishes the reputation of all Xfx.

So this is official: in a few minutes, I will block your account. Maybe then, I won’t have to read your fanatical ramblings anymore. I hope others will follow my lead.

This forum is not the private property of fans. Neither you nor any fan (much less a black fan) have exclusive opinions on this forum. I am criticizing your comment no more than I criticized the comment of a certain person radically unfavorable to the film.

If you are directing your comment at specific people, make it clear. Overly general assumptions and comments can hurt innocent people and discourage their positive perception of the film. I ask you to give space to those viewers who are not interested in the actor, but in the film, and have the right to express their positive or negative opinion. They also have the right to perceive the film however they want, because that's what the reception of any work of art or cultural text is all about - through the prism of the viewer, not through the intention of the author.

So if you don't like certain comments against the film, well “If you don't like something, give peace to those of us who are at peace. And as they say in China: 'Let it go' “.

This film has received very good reviews from people knowledgeable on the subject. The Pekin Daily published this…
When I go to the cinema or watch a movie on TV, I don’t need to familiarize myself with entire philosophical doctrines beforehand. I think most viewers feel the same way. The current Oscar nominations prove that what "critics" like doesn’t necessarily align with what is truly good or what audiences actually enjoy.

My comment is directed at your comment, not at the movie, which I haven’t seen (yet) and won’t speak about (yet). Your comment suggests that if someone doesn’t like this film, they don’t understand the philosophy of martial arts and are essentially an idiot, and I simply cannot agree with that.

For heaven’s sake, this is not a martial arts manual or a philosophical treatise. It’s wuxia entertainment, meant to amuse and move the audience, not teach the truth about life. I respect your perspective on this film, but please stop imposing it on others. The world consists of more people than just die-hard fans and paid haters. There are also casual viewers who couldn’t care less about the philosophy of martial arts and just want to have a good time.
