In Blood River and Blood of Youth the character of Su Mu Yu truly stood out. I’m glad blood River was able to expand on the complex personality that was obviously lacking in Blood of Youth. regardless this flows so much better compare to the other Chinese drama Sword and Beloved and TJOL even with the numerous personalities and characters.
when I first heard the plot line of this show I was surprised that they would take on a strong and hard issue like drug-rape and online sex. I give the producers credit for starting with this premise revolving primarily around the male lead. this means everyone is secondary including Ja and his emotions. I’m watching this to see how our male protagonist deals with this most difficult experience. yeah there will be a lot of flaws after all this is Thai BL but absence of lousy CGI and fight scenes I Al wondering if our protagonist can sustain his emotional role. how does one even prepare for this role. Ja plays his typical puppy dog role which always makes him a weak male lead but that is the role of this character and not the fault of Ja. with all the BL shows this year it is kinda refreshing to watch a show dealing with this type of societal issues. however I don’t see a lot of chemistry from our lead actors or maybe it’s just too early for fireworks to explode. understand that for rape victims having sex is the most difficult experience.
🤣🤣🤣🤣the joke is on us. anyone but Cheng Yi dies, a lame love story, and a lonely sad ending and dare I say a lead actress with ooor chemistry? why am I not surprised. I’m sensing he’s better paired with another male lead and create a BL drama instead. a repeat of TJOL.
ever wonder what happened to the itsy bitsy spider when she gout out the water spout? she fell in love. this series started well but as always in recent CY series (TJOL) the script goes haywire and the writers don’t know how to make the lead remains sustainable for this long. unfortunately Sword and Beloved suffers the same fate. it’s becoming to be a struggle to watch CY series now. thank goodness for other interesting series form other network. oh yeah the itsy bitty spider fell down the spout again.
it’s beginning to be a great production with beautiful traditional thai music and dance, the period costume that Babe wore is magnificent and the traditional suit for Billy is beautifully made. it is slow at the start co trade to The Sign so it allows me to fully comprehend the characters. its spiritual like Khemjira but not a horror. worth the wait to see BillyBabe again.
watching the sign for the second time to refresh my memory and it feels I am enjoying the series the second time around. the chemistry of the ML is just beautiful. the way they look the touch and the conversations.
This drama has become the norm for most Chinese drama. and no offense to women but this show is like a body of a beauty peagent candidate—full at the top, skinny in the middle and plump in the end. too many subplots messes up this series. can we just move on from the western region and cut to the chase. I rated this part very low.
Hua Sen as a cute corsac fox and an icy palace chief in Whispers and yet a cold blooded assassin Blood River is one of the best character actor in current Chinese drama. he runs circles around CY when it comes to facial and character emotions.
watching his three current dramas I see a very versatile acting skills from a cold blooded assassin in Blood River, a cute and adorable Corsac Fox in Sword and a beloved, and an icy palace chief in Whispers of Faith. I kept changing shows to check if it’s really him as his face almost changes so differently based on his character. Thats great acting. I’m a big fan now.
Yun Fei and Xue Yang’s kiss was just electric. Why can’t the story revolve around them instead of the confusing storyline with the leads. Rarely does it happen but this time I am enjoying the subplot and the support characters instead of the lead. I feel bad because CY was in a roll with the first episodes until this very long and almost its own miniseries subplot. CY was robbed.
maybe it’s just me but why is smoking being pushed in this episode. growing up in Asia we know how harmful smoking can be yet this show promotes it. maybe it helps build the character of a very mild and timid person. now the gentle and soft kisses in the bedroom that’s definitely a beautiful scene very well prepared and executed.
