I would like the show better without the side stories of the husband and friend. I find them quite dull.

I only know my mother's phone number by heart. not many people remember phone numbers because we don't dial them. we dial by name usually. Flora keeps her distance because she doesn't feel she deserves to be his girlfriend. a better way to say it is that she has low self confidence. She was much more verbal with him before they became a couple. She always had something to say to him whether she agreed or disagreed. now that they are a couple she gets emotional paralysis. She hits an emotion and stays stuck there and just stares. I really hate that they changed her communication after dating. it ruins the dynamic of their relationship in the worst way. Now she only seems confident in her intimacy with him. which demeans their relationship because Luke is obviously more invested in the whole relationship rather than just her body.

I don't think so, because the drama is obviously not following the book line from line. Luke isn't even the same character as he was in the book.

Per readers he was much darker in the book.

the only thing Flora leads in the relationship is becoming intimate. everything else she follows. I assume her strongest confidence lies in her intimacy alone in relationships.
