Title Summit of Our Youth Spoiler
My final review about the ending:
I know that for most of us, the infamous ending really disrupted the drama, but honestly, I LOVED THE ENDING. Despite being classified as a fantasy drama, this series beautifully illustrates the reality of “what if I did it all differently” and the theme of “if I could have it all”… The elevator going down wasn't only the defining moment when the real drama started but also symbolic of life going completely south and knocking you out. I found it symbolic that, in their first lives, the characters completely missed each other, yet they still found themselves and realized that even if they missed each other for ten years… Whatever comes next, they’ll face it together. So being in the elevator again at the end of the show means there are still many problems to come, and you can't escape reality (aka your first life), so face it.
At the end of it all, one of the main lessons I take from this drama is: don’t be afraid to chase your dreams despite feeling like time was ‘wasted,’ because what’s meant for you, you’ll have at the right time.

I know this might seem random, but I have a question: Where is the pen that the female lead uses from? 😭 It looks like it writes so smoothly, and I've been curious about it! If someone knows, please let me know! I'm currently on episode 13 and have been wondering about the pen since the first time I saw it. 😭

What's wrong with Song Joong Ki or the character played by him ?
Did you read the part when I said, word for word: “Those people are celebrities and often sell images that don’t represent their real selves. This is sadly how this industry works…”? So, we’ll never know the truth, nor does it concern us. I don’t despise the guy; I just find his overall handling of his past marriage messy and, frankly, disgusting.

how was the romance? worth watching? is it at prisoner of beauty level ?
I surprisingly LOVED the romance... I would qualify this drama as a reeeaaallyyy good enemies to lovers trope / starting from nothing, yet rising at the top....

Just finished watching this drama and in my humble opinion it was FANTASTIC...
but I have to say the court/capital ruined them; wish we had more time with them after court and the final resolution...

What's wrong with Song Joong Ki or the character played by him ?
What’s wrong with Song Joong-ki? For me, he is basically the epitome of disappointment, especially when you remember the image he used to have.

His divorce from Song Hye-kyo is a huge part of why my perception of him changed. Obviously, none of us knows what actually happened inside their marriage, and I’m not going to pretend Song Hye-kyo was automatically innocent or that he was automatically guilty just because they divorced. That’s not the point.

The problem for me was HOW the divorce was handled publicly.

Song Joong-ki was the one who filed for divorce mediation, and that immediately influenced how people interpreted the situation. In Korea, there was a strong public perception surrounding their case that the person taking the initiative to file was probably the wronged party. It obviously doesn’t legally mean that, but socially it created a narrative of: “If HE filed, what did SHE do?”

And then you have the circumstances. He filed while Song Hye-kyo was abroad, and reports at the time said that although they had already discussed separating, she had not been informed beforehand that he was actually going to submit the divorce application when he did. The announcement then exploded publicly.

Just imagine being in another country while the end of your marriage suddenly becomes one of the biggest entertainment stories in Korea, and millions of strangers immediately start speculating about what YOU supposedly did to make your husband file for divorce.

And Song Hye-kyo absolutely suffered from that narrative. The rumors about her became insane. People attacked her character, blamed her for the divorce, invented stories about her private life, and scrutinized everything about her. It became serious enough that her agency eventually took legal action against malicious commenters and people spreading false information.

That doesn’t mean Song Joong-ki personally told people to attack her. I would never claim that without evidence. But I can still dislike the way the whole situation was handled and the consequences of that public framing.

There were even reports at the time suggesting that his side wanted to make it clear that they could disclose details about the marriage if false stories were spread. Whether every detail of those reports was accurate or not, you can understand why the whole thing felt unnecessarily aggressive for what was supposedly meant to be a private and amicable divorce.

And what makes the situation even more frustrating is that after all that speculation, their actual divorce was completed without some huge public revelation proving that Song Hye-kyo had committed this terrible wrongdoing. There was no dramatic scandal established that justified the amount of hatred she received.

Then years later, Song Joong-ki made those comments about becoming a husband and father potentially costing him jobs in the entertainment industry, and THAT was another moment where I thought, ''seriously?''

You’re an extremely successful male actor talking about the career disadvantages of marriage and parenthood in an industry where actresses have historically been judged far more harshly for getting married, becoming pregnant, aging, or having children. It came across as incredibly tone-deaf.

And that’s why I call him disappointing.

It’s not because I think he’s an evil person. It’s not because I automatically believe every rumor about him. And it’s definitely not because I think someone should stay in a marriage they don’t want to be in.

It’s because the contrast is CRAZY.

This was the man who, especially during the Descendants of the Sun and Song-Song couple era, had this almost perfect gentleman image: romantic, respectful, mature, considerate, humble. People genuinely adored him.

Then you look at how publicly that marriage ended, how brutally his ex-wife was treated afterward, some of the reports surrounding how the divorce was initiated, and then some of his later comments about marriage and fatherhood…

It just leaves you thinking: THIS is the same man?

Meanwhile, Song Hye-kyo went through one of the most public divorces imaginable, had strangers dissecting her personality and blaming her for everything, endured years of rumors, and still never publicly dragged him or exposed the intimate details of their marriage.

And honestly, there’s something almost like poetic karma in how things turned out afterward. While Song Hye-kyo went through an incredibly difficult period after the divorce, stepped back from the spotlight for a while, and had to endure endless rumors and public scrutiny, Song Joong-ki’s career was thriving with projects like Vincenzo and Reborn Rich. Yet years later, the situation almost reversed: Song Hye-kyo made an incredible comeback with The Glory, completely reestablishing herself as an actress and receiving massive praise, while some of Song Joong-ki’s more recent projects have struggled to achieve the same success. And now, ironically, he has even faced rumors about problems in his second marriage (although those divorce rumors are not confirmed and shouldn’t be presented as fact). I don’t believe life is as simple as “bad things happen because you deserve them,” but there is something almost poetic about watching the woman who was once dragged through one of the lowest periods of her life come back stronger than ever while the man who seemed untouchable at the time is no longer enjoying that same effortless momentum.

So when I say Song Joong-ki is the epitome of disappointment, I’m not saying “Song Hye-kyo good, Song Joong-ki evil.” We simply don’t know enough to say that.

I’m talking about the massive difference between the person we thought he was and the public figure we eventually saw.

But once again, those people are celebrities and often sell images that don't reprersent their real self... This is sadly how this industry works...

They should go back for 2 eps a day cause I fear the drama will lose its momentum... It's kinda predictable now in a sense
