the massager scene had me laughing so much... plus her going on to actually use it as one later on LMAO

i love this so far omg... i feel like i'm exceedingly picky with romcoms nowadays and that my standards are too high since they often feel too repetitive/predictable or just not exciting enough to catch my attention/interest. but this series is SO refreshing! decided to check it out bc of our two main actors and i'm really glad i did. i especially love how positive/healthy the messaging is behind the drama and the aunt is such a great side character too.

that was what angered me the most too... like why does she still get to be happy and loved after what she did? and three years is too short.

grandpa ending up taking most of the blame didn't feel right and felt like a cop-out bc of his death. like yes he was emotionally abusive/neglectful but in the end, pio's mother was who caused both emotional trauma to pio and physical trauma to jy with his lifelong injury... yet she gets to still have a love life and a slap on the wrist with 3 years in prison.

i think grandpa's actions towards pio felt semi-decent closure wise like when he threw the metronome out of the window to coax him out of his slump but he pissed me off re: jy. like the nerve to ask jy to forgive after what happened to him... and what happened to asking him to be his successor in the end? that just went fully unaddressed.

genuinely i thought it was kept vague bc he WAS jy's bio dad and that's why pio's mother was so bitter combined with how jy was direct competition for pio lmao

pio has always been more of an actions over words person in how he shows love (we know that guy is painfully emotionally constipated for most of his life and keeps feelings bottled up bc of his trauma), which is why i think post-timeskip jy saying the lines pio told to him back in their teen years is so much more impactful later on. pio is allll about the yearning for the most part.

makes the fact that they ended up in a church all the more fitting LMAO

exactly like grandpa fucked up plenty as well but he isn't the only one. he definitely was emotionally abusive/neglectful but the only one responsible for causing actual physical harm (and permanently injuring jy for life) to either of the boys was pio's mother.

totally agree... the exchanged glances, the skinship moments like that train scene with the head on the other's shoulder and how close they have to be next to each other on the piano stool when they're playing, the brushing of their hands together...

and then the self-sacrificing acts. pio getting jy through his trauma with the blindfold and candles. jy taking part in the competitions just so that pio wouldn't give up on piano. pio desperately searching for jy not once but twice (playing the piece jy wrote with him in mind and posting it to get his attention and then when that succeeds dropping everything to meet him)... jy taking that injection just so that he could ease a bit of pio's guilt and buying the piano he put up for sale so that they could play piano together again just one last time... i could go on !!!!

the nerve to give her a romance as well like... was it not bad enough that she got just 3 years for attempted murder, kidnapping and causing permanent disability to jy? and then the audacity when she begged jy for forgiveness (and then grandpa too) after it was because of them that he lost his ability to play music, the one thing that gave him the most happiness, again

i was waiting for them to at least hug too... especially after the 3 year wait like omg pio was YEARNING

the yearning glances that pio always gives when he looks at jy... the way that he only smiles properly when he's with jy (and same with post-timeskip jy in the final eps too)... i could go on haha

my heart truly breaks for jy... like not only did he buy the piano back so that pio wouldn't completely give up his playing but put himself through that physically just in the hopes of easing pio's guilt, even a little, and play together just like they did in the past. even the physicality of conducting bc of the arm movements involved would put his body through pain with the nature of his injury.

i was genuinely so appalled at how lightly pio's mother got off, including the romance part and the fact that do hyunsoo still stood by her this whole time despite jy being one of his most successful students too. i was angry for jy that all these adults around him dared to ask for his forgiveness (and honestly expected them to have grandpa formally annoucing jy as his successor at the hospital after all the build up with that only to not have it brought up ever again).

in general i'm satisfied to an extent as i've experienced far worse kdrama endings over time but i still feel a bit empty which is why it is not a full 10 rating... how did the mother get off so lightly in the end too AND got her man? in the end she still permanently ruined jy's life with that injury and has the nerve to ask for forgiveness. same with grandpa, i really thought he called jy into the hospital room to apologise and hand over his conductor position to him as his successor (why did they completely ignore and not address that in the end when it was already set up?).

all the scenes with jy and pio in the last couple of eps were perfect and really solidified it for me... pio yearning was the icing on the cake but i can't believe it took another 3 years for them to reunite again.

i can't believe it's the last day... i'm not ready to let jy and pio go
