so that he can catch people off guard later / possibly get his revenge on those who nearly killed him. he knows very well that people around him don't tend to have the best intentions in mind and are more likely to slip up and let their guard down if they still think he's all naive and trusting.

it's incredibly one-sided (on her part) and really forced... i genuinely think they should've kept it as a friendship

jy being mr do's biological son would explain it i feel. i suspect she's behind his mother's death (and jy's subsequent ptsd) too due to her own jealousy and insecurity. jy later going on to be a "direct threat" to pio's success as a pianist (in her eyes) is just the surface reason she uses to justify her actions.

the more i think about the hints from past episodes the more motive i think she has behind this weirdly irrational hatred of jy.

both boys' biological dads are unknown and it's clear pio's mother has a (former) thing / one-sided affection with the professor, mr do who clearly wants nothing to do with her beyond a professional setting anymore. aside from him being direct competition for pio, the theory that jy is also do hyunsoo's son (though why he abandoned / left him or he just doesn't know despite pio's mother somehow finding this info out, i have no clue... this is the only part that confuses me tbh bc he doesn't seem irresponsible enough to abandon his child like that as he's one of the few rational adults in this series).

when jy's mother dies, her direct romantic "threat" is gone and she also doesn't have to hear from her kid again... which is why she thinks she's off the hook for years (only for jy to show up at the same school) and then again, when he "dies" but turns out to be alive. and now, even if he can no longer play piano and be a "threat" to pio that way in her eyes, the (irrational) hatred is still there bc of the fact that grandpa kang is still fond of him and the fact that he's mr do's bio son doesn't change either.

maybe bc he's finally realised that the issue is with his unhinged daughter and not pio himself... took him FAR too long to do that though, maybe half of this wouldn't have happened if he came to his senses earlier

i also suspected that too, given the history between them and the lack of knowledge on who the bio dad is for both boys... bc why is she still so pissed off even if jy isn't even an "active threat" to pio anymore? he already lost the ability to play piano again. we already know that aside from grandpa, mr do is the only person who can actually make her be quiet and she wants his respect / attention at the very least (not forgetting where she just kissed him in his office?) so there's definitely the basis of romantic tension / history there and the fact that she could hate jy and his mother for "taking away" mr do from her. she got rid of his mother, now she's channeling all the hatred and insecurity towards jy as the son. she really is that unhinged.

i'm here for it. so many people wronged him just bc they couldn't stand to see him succeed

no bc why is she still stuck acting like a highschooler with a crush, annoying as hell and nobody gaf about this forced romance. that weirdly timed kiss last week was so uncomfortable too

okay but why was grandpa actually spitting facts this episode (first time ever that i agreed with him)? genuinely had me wanting him to go off on pio's mother more like that lmao bc why is she STILL so angry and bitter... jy literally can't even play piano again he isn't even a direct "threat" to pio anymore... aren't you proud of what you've done to stop him from playing piano ever again?

i'm so glad omg... i want him to make the people who did this to him suffer, especially after it was confirmed that he couldn't play piano anymore bc of the damage from the bullet wound too

not pio going into kpop sasaeng mode and following him to his hotel ... and did they really have to go down the amnesia route? ughhhh

i really hope not as well (i hope he saw that interview pio did too) but i'm also wondering how they're going to make it last 6 more episodes. i just want jy to be thriving and living his best life ultimately, he's been through enough!

agreed like just keep it as friendship between the three, sure. the way her character is written is awful, no hate to the actress. why is she still acting like a giddy highschooler with a onesided crush in her late twenties towards a guy who is clearly disinterested?

i definitely liked it better when it was just focused on the friendship between them too. the light one-sided crush thing was fine when they were still in school bc that's normal with teens but... after 9 years as a grown adult you'd surely have taken the hint by now and moved on, especially when he's just been so dismissive the whole time. but nope, it's like they're still kids.

so far just incredibly forced romance between fl and kang pio 💀 largely one-sided on her end

i really hope they don't throw in some amnesia plot either, i hope he's angry as he has every right to be.

it was so out of place. the entire romance thing seems entirely forced and i simply don't care for it. would've been better off if she gave up after all those years of it being onesided like girl it's been NINE YEARS and he's still as indifferent as ever...

this. like i get everyone grieves differently but why would you suddenly decide that NOW after 10 years you're feeling guilty after reaping the benefits from the competition? also would it not make sense to act on your suspicions asap after the incident? like come on, it was clearly foul play and orchestrated bc who with money and influence would stand to benefit from jy being gone? just take a look at those around you. none of these characters seem to have grown as people whatsoever since the timeskip, just the same as ever.

this was one of the weakest episodes so far (ep6). the romance feels so forced lmao i was just wanting to get on with the rest of the ep and waiting to find out what happened to jeongyo... like idk the kiss felt so misplaced too when he was in the middle of grieving. and there's no chemistry... he's still as indifferent as ever and she's still as clingy.

why is everyone suddenly so chill with his insane mother too? i was glad when mr do finally shut her up for once as he's the only person who seems to be able to (aside from the asshole grandpa). i get that everyone grieves differently and he's also been through a lot but i started to get annoyed with how pi-oh acted in the interviews too... like dude you've also been lapping up the fame and reaping the rewards of jeongyo's interpretation for nearly a decade too? why suddenly have a crashout over it now? it doesn't make sense to not be suspicious earlier either bc CLEARLY someone with money and power paid those mercenary guys off... there's only a handful of people who would even stand to benefit from jeongyo being gone like confront the mother directly? i don't know, it's just frustrating.

timeskips are often a hit of miss for me in general bc of this. none of these characters seem to have grown at all despite the timelapse. i just want jeongyo to be happy and flourishing and thriving tbh like let the man live in peace at this point he's been through enough as it is.
