i've been a fan of hajoon and followed him/his works for a number of years. i've always thought that he looks around his own age honestly. already looking forward to the next project he'll take on, i'll miss him now that siren's kiss just ended.
tbh they lacked chemistry cause he went too hard at her at the beginning that it just felt so off when he suddenly…
personally i did enjoy the subtle chemistry / tension between the actors themselves but i think the issue is much more a writing / pacing problem. the way i interpreted it was he'd already fallen for her ever since that initial gallery scene though the one-sided panel, even prior to suspecting her and then later his guilt / finding out how similar they were with their pasts made him backpedal hard (but agreed the way the progression was written felt way off in this regard and they should've highlighted this more since it did continue to bug me despite enjoying their scenes together).
while i agree abt the disappointing villain reveal and a bunch of the side characters being incredibly frustrating (basically the entire police force and the best friend's younger sister) i rather enjoyed the ending thematically with how seola was wrongly percieved and innocent the whole time.
you are right. when episodes are released with a gap of 5 days, the suspense dies down and it doesn't feel as…
i agree. i feel that for art of sarah for instance, i watched it all within a couple of days since they released all episodes at once. my enjoyment and rating i think would have dwindled if i had a notable gap in between watching it.
though i do admit part of me watching asap when episodes come out for sirens kiss is bc i hate being spoiled and spoilers are so hard to avoid nowadays on social media, esp when i do follow other fan accs/pages for our main leads
spoiler free review! overall enjoyed it (also just super happy to see whj in another thriller as it's where he shines most imo) despite there being clear flaws, but a series that is "perfect" is close to impossible. a little disappointed with the slight obviousness of the main culprit reveal (even if specific details weren't things i'd considered, i genuinely thought it was going to be a red herring for who the actual culprit(s) were until the last moments) and the way some weird plot points weren't addressed (like why were some people just suspicious and kinda unhinged seeming for the hell of it idk).
but as far as kdrama endings go it was pretty decent all around and we got enough closing scenes with our mains. whj and pmy both did great especially, as did kjh. cannot fault the actors at all. i honestly believe a lot of the letdown is in the writing department and to a much lesser degree some slightly odd editing choices (like the loudness and placement of some of the music for instance even if the ost itself is great).
so my suspicions were right all along... looking forward to seeing how they wrap things up in the finale, but i'll miss my weekly episodes with seolah and wooseok! loved that she got to comfort him as well this time round, we love a couple who can be vulnerable and supportive of each other.
there was an interview/show they did where pmy mentioned that there was a kiss scene where whj "devours/completely engulfs her lips" and she was genuinely surprised by it (which worked since her character is meant to be surprised in the scene). so the host and they both referred to it like a black hole lmao
Episode 10 was good, but I really can’t stand the female lead’s friend and his sister — both of them are…
pretty sure it is him. and yeah i was also hoping there'd be something more to the sister's motive of being so hate-filled but no it's just pure weird jealousy. honestly i would've rather they even have gone down the accomplice route where she's helping him cover his tracks which is what i considered at one point too but no. both of them are unhinged and obsessive for different reasons
just finished ep 10... chairman's motive just seems weak beyond just wanting to keep manipulating seola like she did with her parents, but then killing the men she's dated doesn't track with that either. perhaps she's aware of how obsessed eunhyeok is with seola and is using him to further isolate seola from anyone else. like the scenes today just solidified just how deep that onesided obsession with her is... his sister is truly just weirdly jealous i thought there'd be more to her motive or there'd be some deeper justification like she's directly working with him and helping him cover up. but no, it seems like he's hiding his creepy posessive nature from her too. the cops continue to be so useless here like they're truly an incompetent joke.
on another note i really thought we'd get the "black hole" kiss pmy talked about in this ep haha, specifically when they were talking together in the gallery but i'm also so appreciative of the subtle intimacy and exchanged glances between our main couple. them holding hands in the car, etc.
Park min young and Wi Hajoon's acting in that interrogation scene is so goodddd.Theyre soo good this whole episode…
yes they both absolutely nailed it! i love their scenes together. hajoon always does eye acting and yearning so well and pmy pulls off the restrained, near enough impossible to read (even to the audience) exterior of seola perfectly vs the moments of her vulnerability and trauma that she tries so hard to mask.
Also in the beginning of episode 9… Seoul A had no weapon in her hand…how are we seeing that as a justified…
this !!! like they're basically waiting for wooseok to spoon feed them the info. didn't look into the surrounding areas of the crime scene. didn't look into the dna samples of suho and junbeom properly. and she also had the nerve to rummage around his apartment when he wasn't home too. i'm also not overlooking how suspicious the chief's wife was too when she'd visit them at the station with food.
Even when it was revealed that Jun Beom was Su Ho, he still felt like a red herring. Now that the best friend…
i was also thinking that too. like why did he not also look into him considering that he's been her best friend for so long? him and his sister are both so suspicious. same with her bartender friend. they all know too much.
and then there's the whole plot point with the gallery chairwoman and the guy who used to date wooseok's sister before her death. plus her secret vault of paintings that are clearly where the real copies are hidden. really hope we'll get some answers in tomorrow's ep.
i suspect he'll appear again even if only in flashbacks to show what happened considering how the ending scene…
eunhyeok and his shady sister aside i still heavily suspect basically everyone else at the gallery tbh haha... esp now that they showed the full extent of what the director did to seola's father. and now the involvement of the guy who dated wooseok's sister at the time of the accident that killed her.
my only other theory is that (due to their flashback convos of her outright saying he should just go and die, etc) seola still feels guilt for how suho ended up how he did and went to such extreme lengths, which led to him hiring that black cap guy who ended up almost killing wooseok and the charity worker informant (most likely other incidents too, this is the only one we pretty much know for sure) and knowing this she confessed out of these feelings of guilt. since we know she has kept info from people before for similar reasons (i.e. the fire from her childhood).
Damnn KJH's acting is soo goodd but why do his role have to be just 8ep short😭😭
i suspect he'll appear again even if only in flashbacks to show what happened considering how the ending scene is definitely not what it seems like. i suspect he either impaled himself as a last resort like a "i did all this for you and you still don't love me, i might as well die" while seola held the weapon out only in self defence OR a hidden third party intervened somehow which imo is less likely.
i had my hands over my face when seola turned her phone off even AFTER her suspicions were basically proven true…
can't wait to find out the truth behind what exactly happened though. i suspect either suho/junbeom impaled himself in a "if i can't have you then this is all for nothing" moment of insanity or a third party intervened and fled the scene before the cops and wooseok arrived.
my suspicions were totally right with the director, plus her link (adoptive mother or some similar figure maybe?) with the bf of wooseok's younger sis who caused the accident. so the photographer and his sister are both definitely not off the hook too. i could totally see the bar owner lady being involved as well.
i really wonder how the best friend stayed untouched/unharmed by suho (especially now his secret lair of keeping tabs on everyone around seola is shown) while being close to her this whole time unless he was confident that it was onesided but i don't know, he totally snapped at the possibility of seola being interested in wooseok too? also the police officer's wife? there's definitely something fishy going on there too with how she was peeking on the case files. looking forward to the next eps !!!!
on an entirely non-plot related note, just had to say that whj been looking extra fine in these episodes haha, like the casual/turtleneck outfits as well as the suits (ofc). i hope he keeps this longer hairstyle too.
i had my hands over my face when seola turned her phone off even AFTER her suspicions were basically proven true like girl please... terrible tv/movie logic 101 when you're alone with a dangerous individual. the acting from both kjh and pmy in ep8 was so good.
Just when you think you may have a solid theory the episode ends in a way you have to start thinking all over…
my experience while watching the drama is just repeats of the "i've connected the dots" "you didn't connect shit" "i've connected them" meme image throughout
while i agree abt the disappointing villain reveal and a bunch of the side characters being incredibly frustrating (basically the entire police force and the best friend's younger sister) i rather enjoyed the ending thematically with how seola was wrongly percieved and innocent the whole time.
