i think the only good thing that came our of ep 29 was fengyao and wjg's conversation like she saw right thru him, and the way he kept trying to deflect said so much about his personality he really thinks he's not wrong and that he's actually helpless and a victim in this lmao like he could have at least told fengyao the truth if not anyone else.

also yk the scene where he promises to save moxi and fengyao says like how you promised to marry her gdgdggsgss i snorted so hard i love these two sisters so much fr

i was team cwd before this ep god its so gross how he's always forcing himself on her and the other two times were icky and he shouldn't have done it but i could look past that bc the situations were different but this time doing that in anger when she's clearly upset was crossing the line. using your power to suppress someone weaker and younger and even sick then forcing yourself on them when they're unstable mentally like he does all that and then he wonders why she doesn't like him.
he hardly ever talks to her nicely, is always threatening her or teasing her and i get that its bc he has no experience either he thinks this is fine and yeah there's no way he'd know moxi in particular prefers ppl who express their love thru words, but come on man you want her to stay by your side but have you ever asked her what she wants? if he wanted her so bad, instead of tricking her then caging her up, he should have groveled, he should have told her how much he loved her and why he wanted to stay with her and SHE WOULD HAVE. but nah he's just got to the abusive manipulative thing instead, at this point even if she likes him after this i think it'll be stockholm syndrome.
the key diff btw wjg and cwd btw IS actually sweet talking. moxi can't let go of wjg bc of all his sweet talks, she thought she was over him and that she'd never go back but in the clothing store he sweet talks her again and she breaks, in fact the only times moxi's been sensitive to cwd too was when he talked to her gently and now we even see thru her daydreams that she Wants cwd to just tell her he likes her nicely instead of whatever he's doing rn.

i think moxi's liked cwd for a while now actually but she didn't think staying by his side was a viable option bc one, its not easy to get over ur first love esp when it ended just days ago, esp when that guy isn't willing to let u go either and STILL making big, fake promises. she likes cwd but she still loves wjg, and cwd should have focused on making her fall in love w him instead of trying to convince her to stay w him bc why would she stay w someone she doesn't love enough.

two, fengyao hates him and as much as moxi is starting to see cwd differently, her sister's opinions on someone does matter to her. like she wants to stay w fengyao forever so how can she love a man her sister would never accept? plus he keeps alternating btw a hero and devil HE'S not letting her fall in love w him HE'S the problem. this whole hot-and-cold behavior of his is why she can't commit to him bc she doesn't see how this would work out long term. she can't predict his behavior and so even thou she's heard so much about him from here and there and from him she doesn't know what to make out of it she doesn't know cwd.

and three, i think at this point its obv moxi believes cwd about the i'm-not-a-rebel thing but she never bothers correcting anyone about it bc she doesn't see the point, he hasn't cleared his name, no one believes him, and if one day he's captured w/o a chance to prove himself, he'll be killed on spot along w everyone associated w him and moxi doesn't like him enough to be willing to die for him (which given his behavior is totally understandable).

he asked her to choose him but she never really had a choice he was going to capture her again anyway he just gave her a false glimpse of hope and some ambiguous words about not leaving him (and idk where his delusions of her not leaving him even came from really moxi holds her heart on her sleeve it was obv she'd leave him, he didn't even give her a reason to stay) and that's just as manipulative as whatever fake promises wjg always gave her.

both of them just wanna own her they don't care about her emotions. wjg likes her so the fact that she loves him so much is just a fan for his burgeoning ego and cwd likes her so regardless of how she feels about him or the situation he wants to keep her like she's some fancy bird he's trapped in a cage. i don't want her to end up w either guy god i hope both her and fengyao are single and widowed in the end.

the way the entire supporting cast is male too like. gmmtv giving roles to any man ever but not the the many talented actresses they have who sit jobless most of the year anyway

god SAME SAME what's esp worrying me is the screentime they're gonna get like ik out of 4 parts ep they're gonna give two whole parts to the boys and that's pissing me off like why wasn't it another gl pairing instead they have so many great actresses. its even weirder that the boys are part of the cast at all bc acc to the trailer they're not really much relevant to the girls' story which means they're really just here for a plot of their own and milklove's going to have to share their screentime just great

YEAH!! like other xianxia dramas make romance a bore idk why its always theyhate each other in the beginning (for no real reason theyre just both stupid and petty) and then one life changing event later they become so loyal to each other they wait upon the other for thousands of years like . i love that these characters are all properly fleshed out too like it follows every stereotype of a cold male lead and naive female lead but there's an actual reason for that here its not just a stupid poorly written trope.
yeah he might get better later on and i LOVE bai lu so ill probably watch it but god if this dude has one good work in his filmography i hope it'll be that one.

Ive been waiting for the story to get to a point where you see xlh Empathize w dfqc and seeing her learn about his unrealized trauma and growing protective over him is just. god i really love the progress of their relationship in this drama like obv shes obsessed over one person for hundreds of years made him the entire motivation for her life so accomodating a new love interest would obv take her time and god god everything since ep 13 reminded me why i liked slow burns so much it was such a satisfying pay off i cant wait to see more.
also about changheng. yeah i kinda hate him too. dude has no backbone and his storyline is written so poorly i still find it hard to believe he likes her so much. hes written like an afterthought and the actor's acting doesnt make him any more endearing than the story does 😭😭

fr fr like half the comments just go on about how annoying the fl is honestly it almost deterred me from watching the show bc while i've never found this trope of fls annoying its so overused in cdramas i'm tired of it but like i ended up watching it anyway bc i love shuxin and wow. im glad i did but also the fl can be frustrating and its still annoying that the writers would write her so stupid in some scenes but mostly i get like. she's a flower. a damn flower that's v young by their standards and has had little to no interactions w other ppl before she was thrown into this story so like. how do u expect someone like this to act? its obv normal she's supposed to be silly and young and naive and cute she's a small FLOWER (and fairies are traditionally written like this like she herself keeps reminding him she's a FAIRY a little flower why r ppl such pricks about it).

i think the whole pacing and direction of this show is weird but otherwise its fine. i mean if it were directed better the romance wouldn't be that difficult to believe bc it isn't weird to think an emperor would fall for and grow lenient towards his bodyguard or that his leniency would embolden her and allow her to behave as freely as she does on the show around them. i think like even the scriptwriting sort of sidelined the romance and focuses too much on the politics but they're supposed to be getting closer behind the scenes and we don't see it.

i really hope there'll be some romance btw yanzhi and yan xiu i ship them a lot
