I thought it was pretty obvious from the beginning that this is fantasy. The show description says, "One day,…
i'm saying this bc i write myself so when i see flaws in writing i can tell. bc i do get the writer's intent this is a minor flaw a lot of authors tend to fall into. idk how to explain this but. it did feel a bit awkward having all that fantasy shoved at you at once during ep15 Thou there have been hints thru out so its not bad writing at all instead. idk like the shift from the realistic office stuff to the whole fantasy bit was a bit jarring that's what i meant.
I hate that! She deserves more because she's a wonderful actress! I'm getting tired of waiting!
yeah like in the bts she even talked about how difficult it was to play a character that kept crying jdknksj but on the show u can't see that she had any difficulty she plays it so effortlessly she's so young but so good at her job i really like her
gene's dad was so weird for that and ik asian parents do tend to think like that (mine do too) but its btw kids of similar ages not years apart what was that crazy man thinking? anyway i'm glad they grew apart bc if they grew together gene would have always thought of sib as his little brother in fact if sib told gene the truth from the start he'd still think of him as a younger brother. gene would probably end up dating some dude and sib would just watch but since gene didn't know who he was he fell in love with him.

oh yeah i know that obviously its the main plot of it but like. usually stories tend to narrate the extent of their fantasy you know? like in 18 again its obv fantasy too but they don't focus much on that aspect things just happen. here we havr shamanism too (which is so cool) but they showed that here and there (mostly in the beginning) then dropped it again here so it was kind of discontious and seemed a bit pretentious? since as the audience you don't know what to expect from this and you cant predict how far they'll go with fantasy aspect. which is why i said. narration issues.
yeah and she stays sweet and kind even after facing such cruelty. instead she became a better person and it's so rare to see ppl like her in dramas she's easily become my favorite i just want her to be happy.
I just want more LuSi and haodu moments but from all the previews and everything I have seen, it won't be till…
oh YEAH i get that like i've watched reba and wu lei's irl interviews and they look so cute and have so much chemistry but on the show they're absolutely none even sun and leyan had more chemistry in the scene where he was holding a knife to her throat nfdjskl the casting in this was so strange bc wu lei's supposed to be playing an older character so his actions are like that but bc he's younger than her and it SHOWS it just looks funny and childish. frankly i have no interest in the leads like i adore reba but i haven't been interested in her story at all. i think maybe it's the directing or maybe its bc she isn't suited for this role but its like you can't fully root for her character despite her being the lead. leyan and hao du are my faves too ur irght i'm far more invested in their story.
Because she doesn't even exist in the manhua. I wonder why they even put her there. Unnecessary, actually.
oh she doesn't?? what about hao du? the manhua wasnt completed so i think they added her to resolve the misunderstandings btw qin wang and changge thou personally i'm glad they did i adore her character. ik she's a crybaby and as a female character its kinda stereotypical and ppl don't like that but she's so purehearted and good and kind and its actually so rare to come across someone who's so good so trusting they're considered a fool i have a soft side for ppl like that i love her the most
this show has this disney movie feel to it, like a healing fantasy family one but extended. like it requires a certain suspension of believes which tbh i wish they'd made more clear early on so it didn't feel awkward when they delved into the fantasy bits, like mentioning/alluding to it constantly instead of focusing on other plot points then bringing this back up when the others are resolved.
the only other problem i have with this show is the lack of subtlety in hani's affection towards yuhyeon which on one hand makes sense since she has a personality that is anything but subtle but. i kinda wish we got some fond gazes and all from her end their chemistry would have been better then.
this is like a review but there's still one more ep to go fjlkdsnfl anyway i like how they resolved anthony's plotline and now it also makes sense that they gave him so much screen time. oh but i wish we got more of jieun and hani :(( this show does have narration problems but otherwise the plot and the characters are all so warm i've been so grateful to them these past 8 weeks. this along with vincenzo and (now) navillera are the only shows i watch immediately after release i enjoy them so much.
honestly wu lei was too young for this role it literally shows they should have picked an older actor or a younger actress to pair him with. in the manhua he was older and it shows in his actions and behavior but bc the actor is so young i can't take anything he does seriously. plus their dynamic should show that he's older but again bc he looks younger even in any romantic scene i can't take him seriously bc he acts like he's older but looks so small and its just funny and so it cancels out their chemistry.
like really the casting of this was so weird, and it's a shame really bc dilireba and wu lei DO have chemistry but u need to watch the bts or their interviews to see that. if they were really casting the leads with this age gap they should have changed their personalities a bit too to fit the story.
I really can't get behind Le Yan and Hao Du ship. I feel like her falling in love with him will be a betrayal…
at least hao du is outright an antagonist tho he clearly does everything for his father and he can be redeemed later which is why i dont mind it. like the only reason he's after changge is his father. but shuyu...he was her friend they both trusted him. and i get his family was being threatened but he was still such a coward to fire at her to ensure his family's safety instead of actually looking out for his family. he took the easy way out and hurt her then went sorry like. i dont like him.
