I LOVED This Series

This series was so much fun. I really looked forward to watching whenever it came on. I loved the writing, there was everything in this story, but I especially appreciated the tongue-in-cheek approach the writers took to the genre, and the well-written humor, throughout.

The cast was wonderful and I loved the characters they portrayed.

All-in-all, this was pure pleasure. Thank you!

First: I LOVE THIS SERIES

I First, I LOVE this series. Second, there has been NO “r*pe,” up to and including episode 6, so please stop using that word. There HAS been SA. But, frankly, if you’re unable to suspend disbelief in the many worlds of BL—maybe you shouldn’t be watching it.

In episode 6, we get incredible messaging in the backstory, to the homophobia, (not just in China, anymore). But, I really appreciated Fan setting You’s “brother” straight on scapegoating & bullying LGBTQ people.

I don’t know where this is heading, or what the explanation is for Fan going after You in such a fanatical manner, but it’s obvious there is something behind it. I’m glad I don’t read the mangas . I enjoy surprises and not feeling the need to compare the written word and what’s presented on the screen.

Again, I LOVE this series. There is nothing about it that I would critique negatively. I look forward to each & every episode with anticipation.

I LOVE THIS SERIES AND WISH IT WOULD NEVER END!!!!

Does not deserve the time of day

I just want it to STOP!

I always hope for a good series with Boun, but THIS wasn’t it! I wanted to give up on it, but instead I let each episode play, while I’m playing games on my phone. It doesn’t deserve being paid attention to.

The story’s a hot mess. I don’t know what else to say, because even writing a real review is giving it too much attention, and effort, that I refuse to expend.

MDL doesn’t have any cast listed…

…but, I HAVE ascertained that the actor, portraying Lei Zexin , is Wang Ruichen. He’s on IG as ray_chen0309.

You’re welcome! ☺️

In the meantime…

I’m very happy to look at Wang Ruichen for 48 minutes.

I only realized that on you tube, I’m watching the entire series in one go. I didn’t realize it was only 10 min. episodes that made up this one, 58 minute video.

I am not writing a review, because anything I could write would be a spoiler. Just watch it. It’s a beatiful, albeit, far too short, story.

I hope I get to see these wonderful, beautiful actors in more series in the future.

Disappointing

Considering the leads came from Addicted, I was highly disappointed in the finished product. It was cute and sweet, but the last two episodes were somewhat confusing, at times. Maybe it was the subtitles or the translation—I’m not sure.

The misunderstanding between the leads didn’t make much sense to me. Neither did their reasoning for reconciling.

I felt it should have been better. There was little depth to the story, as well as little fire between both couples.

Just not great. Disappointing. I wanted to like it more.

OMG

I watched until episode 8 4/4 and had enough!

It’s not just that the story became, so, confusing and convoluted, but was just ridiculous and made NO SENSE! WTF!? Even if you told me: “oh, if you watch more it will ALL make SO much sense and it will become SO much better”—I would not believe it, nor would I watch anymore of this drivel.

The stupid “Daisy Bell” song, with tied-in bracelet, was just sickening, and along with the rest of the “story,” made no sense. Less than romantic, it was nauseating; striving for, but not reaching, anything close to romantic or touching.

The acting is just average. The story is stupid. The music is nothing special. I wouldn’t watch this again if you paid me.

Well, as you may be able to tell, I HATED the fact that I was sucked into this complete waste of time!

GMMTV needs to do better. Go to manga for inspiration— where BL stems from. We expect better, but it just keeps getting more complex, yet less interesting. And overall—BAD!

Not Worth Your Time (or MINE)

It’s an annoying drama with little merit. I had given up on it, but, once again, boredom set in, so I’m going to TRY to finish this mess.

I don’t care about the characters. They’re self destructive or, simply destructive. I don’t care for Kad. Period. The second couple is fine, but not enough to make this series worth watching. They were the better actors and the more likeable couple. I would watch a series with Fam & David. But, Fah and Teh became
like an old married couple at warp speed! Sad!

Oh, it’s also, often quite boring and repetitive with lots of flashback scenes. The writers could have been better, especially with James’ dialog. And the y could’ve written a better personality for Kad. It helps to write rounder personalities when you want people to care about characters, especially the main characters.

That’s all. I tried to keep it civil, but it bothers me when it feels the Thai BL industry is getting lazy, and doesn’t care about the audience, or plays down to us.

One positive…I LOVE Ja

The Love HAS Set!

I’m giving up on this one because the story is lacking, entertainment value is nil, and it doesn’t feel very fresh.

Sad, though, because I DO Like Ja Phachara, but he’s completely wasted here.

I’m sure there are people, out there, who are probably loving this, but different strokes for different folks. It just feels like waste of time & energy to watch any longer.

Once the setting went back to 1997, with the two male leads as other characters—they lost me, completely.

There was ZERO chemistry between Tae and Ja. Tae didn’t even look like he was kissing in the kissing scenes when they were dating, before all the trouble began. Either he doesn’t like kissing or he doesn’t know how.

The back story of the sexual assault and abuse was not believable or logical. They went from very dark matter to a complete black hole of a storyline. It was all over the place and nowhere, and none of it was very interesting. I abandoned it, after giving it an overly generous chance.

I try to see the positive in every BL series, but there wasn’t much in this. Even Ja couldn’t save it. I don’t think the direction was very good, nor was the story, nor was Tae.

It was pretty terrible.

WOW, Such a Genuine Series

The acting, in Gelboys, exceeds the acting in ANY BL series (and most non-BL series’), that preceded it! These, relative, newcomers (some literally), are giving off such natural, instinctual, almost improvisational vibes with their acting in this series—it’s just incredible. The story is basic, but realistic, genuine, really heart-felt, and down-to-earth. It’s so relatable to anybody, who has experienced one-sided love, wanting more than friendship, heartbreak, and everything in between.
I left out how relevant it is, too.
It’s like independent film-making at its finest. IMHO
I really can’t praise this show enough!

Not a Review Although, I may leave my opinion on this

My main question, after I ask myself, “why am I watching this? (“Out of pure boredom,” I answered), is: What is wrong with the person playing Hae Jun, that he REFUSES to open his lips, or kiss properly, while being given wide, open-mouth kisses from Jae Hun? It’s just so weird and off-putting! It’s not as if that’s the ONLY problem with this series, but it bothers me every time!

The first season was not good and the production has not improved in any way in the second.

And why, for the love of god, does Jae Hun need a physiotherapist? Doesn’t he need some kind of psychotherapy?

I will add a positive comment… I think the actor, Jung Myung-Cheol, who plays JaeHun, is very attractive and is the better actor of the two leads. Maybe, if given a better script, with better direction, and a decent production, he could do well, but this is not it, for sure.

I Can’t Believe I Hadn’t Written a Review When It Finished

First, I’m really ecstatic that it DID finish. I’m happy the Chinese are finding their way around censorship laws!

Chinese BLs are turning out to be my current faves! (ABO Desire, Meet You at the Blossom, To My Shore)
That said, this is a wonderful series, with 4 handsome MLs. The acting is good, the writing is excellent—it’s cute, witty, humorous, and heartwarming , as well.

I’m not going to rehash the story for people, but I AM, already, rewatching it! It’s just as good, if not BETTER, the second time.

Better Than the Thai Version

I wasn’t going to watch this, believing it would be just a poorer imitation of the Thai version, I had already watched, which had been less than stellar, but I’m glad I DID watch it!

Although, I really love the BossNoeul ship, I found the Thai version lacking. So, once again, because I was in a lull between current series airings, I decided to give the Japanese version a chance. To my delight, it was like watching a completely different series, altogether . I, practically, binged this one, because I enjoyed it so much more.

I found the story so much more intriguing, it drew me in where the Thai version was merely meh. I can’t, precisely, point out the specifics of the differences between the two series, I only know that this one is the superior version. And I almost missed it.

The writing was excellent, the casting: perfect. So, if you might have passed on it thinking that this would just be a carbon copy—you’d be wrong. Watch it. You won’t be sorry.

I Wish People, Who Are Opposed to the “Subject Matter,” Would Watch

This is a beautiful story about a boy born in the wrong body and the doctor, who wanted to offer this person a better life.

No matter what you think about the subject, if you would watch this with an open mind and heart, you might understand what transgender people go through and the hardships they face. If you watch this, you might gain some insight and some empathy.

This movie is a delicately-told story of one young person facing uncertainty and the unknown, but with the hope and willingness to do anything to be who they always knew they were, and hoped they could be.

I admit, I’m more than a little surprised this came out of Japan, but it goes to show this story is, truly universal.

The fact is Japan is a highly conservative society, where most people, especially, older people, know nothing about this subject.

It makes it more difficult for gay & transgender people, overall, because they have no rights, can’t adopt, and, I guess, surrogacy’s not an option, either. This all makes it more stressful and difficult for the LGBT community.

But, this film is a gem, which may open a few eyes—hopefully, not only in Japan, because there are closed-minded people everywhere.

We can only hope.

PS All the actors were excellent, but Mochizuki Haruki, as Ai, was stupendous! And he’s only 18 years old!!! Incredible!!!

I’m so sorry I watched this

The first part isn’t bad, although it’s not great, either. The subtitles are a mess in both parts, but part two turns into a complete mess. The story turns into something incomprehensible and poorly written, poorly directed, poorly depicted—altogether. I’m so sorry I wasted almost an hour to watch this mess.

Really Lovely LGBTQ Movie

I saw this film a few years ago, and loved it. And now GagaOOLala has it, so I’m watching again, and loving it, all over again. It’s a film you can watch with your parents, after all, actress Lee Jung-eun, of Parasite fame (as well as so many great KDramas), lends it some gravitas.

The cast is really good, the story is heart-warming, sweet, and hopeful.

Watch it. You’ll be glad you did.
