I LOVED This Series
This series was so much fun. I really looked forward to watching whenever it came on. I loved the writing, there was everything in this story, but I especially appreciated the tongue-in-cheek approach the writers took to the genre, and the well-written humor, throughout. The cast was wonderful and I loved the characters they portrayed.
All-in-all, this was pure pleasure. Thank you!

First: I LOVE THIS SERIES
I First, I LOVE this series. Second, there has been NO “r*pe,” up to and including episode 6, so please stop using that word. There HAS been SA. But, frankly, if you’re unable to suspend disbelief in the many worlds of BL—maybe you shouldn’t be watching it.In episode 6, we get incredible messaging in the backstory, to the homophobia, (not just in China, anymore). But, I really appreciated Fan setting You’s “brother” straight on scapegoating & bullying LGBTQ people.
I don’t know where this is heading, or what the explanation is for Fan going after You in such a fanatical manner, but it’s obvious there is something behind it. I’m glad I don’t read the mangas . I enjoy surprises and not feeling the need to compare the written word and what’s presented on the screen.
Again, I LOVE this series. There is nothing about it that I would critique negatively. I look forward to each & every episode with anticipation.
I LOVE THIS SERIES AND WISH IT WOULD NEVER END!!!!

Does not deserve the time of day
I just want it to STOP!I always hope for a good series with Boun, but THIS wasn’t it! I wanted to give up on it, but instead I let each episode play, while I’m playing games on my phone. It doesn’t deserve being paid attention to.
The story’s a hot mess. I don’t know what else to say, because even writing a real review is giving it too much attention, and effort, that I refuse to expend.

MDL doesn’t have any cast listed…
…but, I HAVE ascertained that the actor, portraying Lei Zexin , is Wang Ruichen. He’s on IG as ray_chen0309.You’re welcome! ☺️
In the meantime…
I’m very happy to look at Wang Ruichen for 48 minutes.
I only realized that on you tube, I’m watching the entire series in one go. I didn’t realize it was only 10 min. episodes that made up this one, 58 minute video.
I am not writing a review, because anything I could write would be a spoiler. Just watch it. It’s a beatiful, albeit, far too short, story.
I hope I get to see these wonderful, beautiful actors in more series in the future.

One positive…I LOVE Ja
The Love HAS Set!I’m giving up on this one because the story is lacking, entertainment value is nil, and it doesn’t feel very fresh.
Sad, though, because I DO Like Ja Phachara, but he’s completely wasted here.
I’m sure there are people, out there, who are probably loving this, but different strokes for different folks. It just feels like waste of time & energy to watch any longer.
Once the setting went back to 1997, with the two male leads as other characters—they lost me, completely.
There was ZERO chemistry between Tae and Ja. Tae didn’t even look like he was kissing in the kissing scenes when they were dating, before all the trouble began. Either he doesn’t like kissing or he doesn’t know how.
The back story of the sexual assault and abuse was not believable or logical. They went from very dark matter to a complete black hole of a storyline. It was all over the place and nowhere, and none of it was very interesting. I abandoned it, after giving it an overly generous chance.
I try to see the positive in every BL series, but there wasn’t much in this. Even Ja couldn’t save it. I don’t think the direction was very good, nor was the story, nor was Tae.
It was pretty terrible.

WOW, Such a Genuine Series
The acting, in Gelboys, exceeds the acting in ANY BL series (and most non-BL series’), that preceded it! These, relative, newcomers (some literally), are giving off such natural, instinctual, almost improvisational vibes with their acting in this series—it’s just incredible. The story is basic, but realistic, genuine, really heart-felt, and down-to-earth. It’s so relatable to anybody, who has experienced one-sided love, wanting more than friendship, heartbreak, and everything in between.I left out how relevant it is, too.
It’s like independent film-making at its finest. IMHO
I really can’t praise this show enough!

I Can’t Believe I Hadn’t Written a Review When It Finished
First, I’m really ecstatic that it DID finish. I’m happy the Chinese are finding their way around censorship laws!Chinese BLs are turning out to be my current faves! (ABO Desire, Meet You at the Blossom, To My Shore)
That said, this is a wonderful series, with 4 handsome MLs. The acting is good, the writing is excellent—it’s cute, witty, humorous, and heartwarming , as well.
I’m not going to rehash the story for people, but I AM, already, rewatching it! It’s just as good, if not BETTER, the second time.

Overall, A DECENT SERIES
Once more, a surprising “top.”I thought it was good, but I was, constantly, annoyed by the lack of communication when they were in school together. I guess a lack of communicating feelings is the ingredient in many of these stories which is the main source of all the drama. It can be frustrating, though, while watching.
Overall, it was watchable. The chemistry was decent and the leads were very good, as were all the cast members, as well as the direction.

It Wasn’t Bad—(which I thought it would be!)
Yes. I gave this an 8.5 to bring the 7.0 rating up a notch. It wasn’t a bad series, at all, and I was pleasantly surprised.I, pretty much, binged it, it was such an easy watch.
And, at least, it wasn’t juvenile.
I’ve never liked ANY series that Long was in, but I guess it was his “ship” with Frank that “sank” those series.
The storyline is simple, for the most part, and fairly straightforward. I can appreciate that. They can’t ALL be To My Shore, Revenged Love, ABO Desire, or Kill to Love!
Yes, a little more logic and intelligence would’ve taken it up a few notches, but it was fine, if you turn your brain off.

One of the Very Best
This series had such depth and realism. Everything about this series was far superior to most of the other BL series. The acting was superb, as was the casting, the direction, and the cinematography. It felt like you were watching a dramatic play.—Harold Pinter-style.This is not your typical, everyday series. It was more adult, even though there is little skinship; the sexual tension is present, underlying every episode.
All the actors should have won awards for this series, as well as the series, itself.

Overall a Pretty Decent Series
My main problem was in understanding Jeonghan’s motivations throughout the series. He was obviously friendly with Iljo when they were school age, but as an adult he apparently developed some sort of apathy, or antipathy, for him, without any real explanation.
He, obviously had some form of feelings for him to take him in and to continually take care of him. But, then it turned toxic so quickly. Why?
It also bothered me how abusively possessive he’d turn, how poorly he’d treat Iljo, again, without us understanding what drove him.
Apart from that, which I was, obviously, able to put aside, the story was different. The writing was decent. The characters were flawed and incomplete, but interesting.
Some people claim the ending fell flat, but it was fine. It had a satisfactory ending, in my opinion.
So, overall I did enjoy it, with all its faults. It’s, certainly, worth the watch.
UPDATE:
I’m rewatching it and I think I found the motivations that drove Jeonghan’s confusion, personality changes, and offensiveness— he was confused about being in love with and intimate with his cousin. I only figured it out, because I read so many comments from people who were disdainful toward that idea. It didn’t bother me, since they wouldn’t be having babies together, but I DO believe that may have been the driving force through the entire show, up until nearly the last episode.
I feel better now. I think the writers could have made that clearer, if that was the motivation behind every thoughtless and abusive turn of Jeonghan’s personality.

Ambitious, but Tragic!
From the start, I felt bad for Nankrai: always the brother, never the lover. The best NC scene was in his dream. And I sure fell in love with him!I didn’t feel there was ANY chemistry from the actor, who played Victor. I believe it was a fault in his acting ability.
Although, it was realistic, and unfortunate, that TK only felt brotherly toward Nankrai, it was disappointing.
It was a cute, entertaining series, until the final 2 episodes, when everything turns tragic.
The storyline, as I said in my header, was fairly ambitious, but I was NOT expecting 2 deaths, a time rewind, then another death. How depressing can a writer make a BL series? Answer: VERY!
I would not want to watch it again for the reasons stated above.
I didn’t hate it, I just think it could have been more satisfying to the viewer. The main character being sacrificed at the end was, in no way, “satisfying.” It’s like, the only one who can lead a happy life, after everything, would be Victor. And I didn’t like him enough to want that to be the outcome. But, I guess TK did.
Just TRAGIC.

Cute, Sweet, but too short!!!
After reading the other reviews, I was glad I have GagaOOLala (not for kids!).I didn’t know why it was labeled, “re-edited version,” but now I do. So what I watched was a normal series, consisting of 6 episodes, each about 17 minutes long.
The lead actors were really attractive and the acting was great, it had a very decent story, and it was depicted, pretty realistically.
I was relieved to see S Korea hasn’t lost their touch for quality, entertaining, somewhat compelling, BL series.

I Want to See This Film
I ‘ve wanted to be able to see this film, since hearing about it, almost two years ago.I refuse to watch on my phone, with ads, on Daily Motion or bilibili.
When will a major streaming service pick up this film?
I pay for three streaming services for Asian series & movies, so I’m highly disappointed that none of them have decided to air this film, for whatever reason.
I had to leave a rating in order to post this non-review, but I’m certain, from all I’ve heard & read that I will love it.
All the best gay films are, unfortunately, depressing, I’ve found.

I Really Loved It
First, let me say, that South Korea produces the best BLs with the most production value, best writing, directors, and actors. This series was no exception. My only criticism would be that I would have appreciated being let in, a little more, on the characters motivations and thoughts, and the other characters could have been fleshed out a bit more.
Like almost all of the Korean bl series, this one was too short, could have been longer to include more details about the characters.
But, I STILL loved it. I guess I’m lucky I don’t read the Manhwa versions before watching a series, because the readers always end up disappointed. But, hearing that there was more intimacy in the Manhwa, I may just see if an English version is available and read it, after the fact.
