I’m loving this drama so far but I’m curious why this one has a much higher rating than With You. So far it seems like each is endearing in its own way and they complement each other well.
Don't know about the rest of you, but to me the story is just dragging and is getting boring. It's not really…
Yea... I’m feeling the same way. I keep wanting to scream at the writer to put in more content and have a tighter plot. Move things along faster... explore different facets of the situation. give Nak Won and Na Moo some freaking substantial dialogues. They can handle it, trust them!! This premise with these actors could’ve done amazing but the writer just doesn’t seem to know how to balance thriller and melo at the same time. It seems like writer gets too scared when things gets too happy or too dark and so hangs around in the gray zone and slows things down. But why???
wow... what a talented young actor. I just finished With You and I haven't been able to move on. He's such a dynamic actor and I can't wait for his other projects!!
Well this is interesting..Netflix has picked up the rights for the drama. It will be available this Friday (13th).
interesting.. i see no news of it's release schedule so i'm wondering how many eps netflix will be releasing a week. hopefully it'll only be at most a week behind the airing schedule
I watched the Taiwanese Meteor Garden as a kid so now this remake is gonna feel super nostalgic. Also I love Shen Yue and I'm so excited to watch her amazing portrayal of Shan Cai :) Any news on whether dramafever or viki is gonna license it?
What a cute little drama :) I literally binged this over the course of 3 days. I didn’t mind the episode count…
Gonna do a bit of a spoiler rant.
I absolutely hate LinZi and his sister. These two characters have 0 development tbh and they just get more and more annoying as the drama went on. Literally they have done nothing but hurt YiBai again and again. To the last episode she almost caused the same accident. Like really girl?? The best friend got on my nerves too but I just skipped through most of her scenes
Yibai’s adorable parents were so funny and they created that perfect family feel. I wished we could’ve gotten to meet Yun duo’s family bc they were essentially nonexistent.
Qi Ruifeng and Yangyang was such an adorable pair. Ruifeng is literally a friend that I want to have. How much fun would life be with someone like him around??
What a cute little drama :) I literally binged this over the course of 3 days. I didn’t mind the episode count but I wished they could’ve taken some things out and replaced with better subplots or even cute scenes because I absolutely can’t get enough of the two leads. Yibai and Yun Duo is such a good pair and their character development + relationship development was done pretty realistically. Anytime they were onscreen, their chemistry was magnetic and I couldn’t keep the smile off my face.
8.5/10 score for me. Not a perfect drama but it was one I didn’t regret watching.
The first episode was a literal cringe fest. The writing is weak and the acting from the supporting characters (especially the foreigners) were so bad. I'm going to stick it out for a few more episodes and hope that it'll get better, but so far not really impressed. I'm really hoping that it'll only get better from here since I just finished A love so beautiful and that was an amazing drama so I really wanted a high quality contemporary c-drama to fill the void. someone please tell me it gets better
in abrahamic religion (jewish. christian, islam) 1000 years in earth is equal to 1 day in heaven. so the writer…
Yea I guess it’s less of the fact that time goes by so quickly but there has to be changes in the mortal realm if that much time hasn’t passed. I think they just messed up on that part
Thank god I watched this drama before news on Hu Yi Tian's sex scandal dropped or it would've probably ruined…
Any updates on the scandal since ? I’m surprised his agency still hasn’t released any statements.. I listened to the audio and it doesn’t sound like him but who really knows what he did or didn’t do.. sigh the comments said about Shen yue broke my heart. She’s such a little cutie
Wow... I’m so happy I pushed past the first 13-14 episodes bc the story actually skyrocketed right after. Thank you to all those who said to keep going bc it was worthwhile in the end !
I haven’t seen a historical Chinese drama in probably over 10 years and I’m so so so glad this one was made. The length made me extremely skeptical but the story didn’t seem to falter to a point that has made me want to quit watching it. And when the speed picked up, it really picked up and I couldn’t stop watching it. The chemistry was amazing and the acting was on point. I loved Mark Chao’s portrayal of Mo Yuan and Ye Hua. Although they shared the same face, I never mixed the two up bc they were so distinctly different yet had a similar aura. I loved the different pairings and how they each approach love in their own ways.
I think the one thing that didn’t seem to make sense to me is the thought of time in the drama. They would say it’s been tens of thousands of years has gone by but nothing in the mortal realm has changed.. it’s still the same era so what was the point of saying that much time has passed ? Also they would zip through so much time at once and have it feel like nothing. Then towards the end, 3 years was treated as an eternity. I just wish there was better continuity. Might be my biggest complaint with the drama.
Also, can they make a season 2? Bc there are still so many stories I want to see...
Keep watching. Male lead (Ye Hua) appears a few episodes later.
Is Ye Hua the reincarnation of the master ? Since they’re played by the same actor. I’m getting so confused at all the relationships lol. Also the time passes by so quickly in this drama without much indications
I love your analysis and for the most part I agree with your opinions. Nak won’s brother is pretty stale to me as well and I wish they would unveil his background already to make him more relevant. All he is to me right now is a hindrance to Nak Won and Nam moo’s relationship. Also his weird love for his sister that borderlines romantic feelings is a bit off putting as well.
Although I’m absolutely loving this drama, I wish the pace would speed up and have more development per ep. I can’t tell if it’s because they split the episode up into 2 parts now that it feels shorter but I feel like we only get to see a small fraction of the story per ep and then the episode is up and the waiting game starts again. Also they spend too much time showing the same scene from a bajillion different angles without having anything changing (aka they just stare at each other). They’re doing a good job with the emotional punch but maybe some more dialogues or action that further the plot/character relationship. I just want more!!
Currently only on episode 4 but I have some regards about the hints of a love line between the master and disciple 17 in the future. To me it seems like a relationship between a teacher and a student which is a bit off putting. Will it get easier to accept once more of their storyline unravel? Also she’s half with the ghost realm prince so now I have no idea which love line they’re trying to sell.
