so far the male lead steals the show and makes it great--his character is reminiscent of the male lead from flame's daughter, only less flamboyant but def. a cunning/jokester/fox
As of ep 12: 1. The soldiers for Qi Zhen lack skill but make up for it in number 2. Lan Zhu is adorable and I hope she has her true love realized 3. Fu Yao has nerves of steel, NOTHING seems to rattle her. Predict something will happen to rattle her 4. The amount of invisible wind to heighten drama is akin to watching bad bollywood...love it
hmmm not my favorite time period because of the enormous amount of propaganda and how little freedom they have in being critical of the republic but am willing to try anything
this drama is so good!!! pei is such a evil person omg can’t wait until she’s finally gets what she’s deserves
i don't like her character because it is such a flat predictable stereotype we have literally nothing to empathize with at all i want some complexity! but fu yao is supposed to be so mind blowing that i sort of get the feeling everyone will fall for her because all the other female characters so far are just so flat and simple....the male characters certainly have a lot more complexity than their female counterparts :/

.............screams in agony........i can't stand harems, but JOF had a reverse harem and it did not distract too much probs because everyone was really respectful of who she liked and did not try to force her hand.....i hope this isn't something where everyone kidnaps her and tries to force her hand.......did i mention i hate harems
Fu yao is a much better character than Ru Ge lol. I think the budget for this film might be more though. Alot…
i really loved ru ge it's just the two shows are so different--ru ge had far better martial arts choreography and the plot was more complex and political, this is more fast paced and simple and more visually interesting; my feeling is that yang mi has made such a name for herself that her shows probably get so much money, and even the villains in the series appear to be recognizable actors
I really like the supernatural elements in this game it kind of reminds me of a videogame Shin Megami Tensei also, Gao Vengo's character is interesting i hope this does not turn into a harem with everyone falling for Fu Yao
i can't help but compare this show to the flame's daughter, because, well, fire and water and visually the way this is filmed is so different. the sets are fantastic. i wonder how much the two dramas cost to film.
