i have born with this show through so much drudgery and all i can say is that it is rare to find a show that makes me want so very badly to drop it then suddenly deliver an episode (40s range) that makes me cry this will be an incredibly interesting review to write when i finish the series

if it's your first and you don't like it, I strongly recommend giving eternal love a chance. it is sort of the best of the best in this genre.

I mean if you want a reference it is kind of like Journey of Flower in terms of the female leads innocence. Some would argue FJ in eternal love was 'innocemt' but she wasn't this kind of innocent she had more depth than the female leads character in this show but again it is because of the pill. The costumes aren't great the plots are sorry of predictable but i don't care about predictability for me it's execution....I have considered dropping it but have hope it will grow into something better.

I think that the male lead is a good actor however the female lead is severely limited because of the pill her mother made her take. I think they have chemistry but from a female perspective it isnt a very complex relationship (and I am on episode 20) however I am hoping once the pill is removed it grows into something more complex. It lacks depth right now.

my biggest criticism of the show, other than set designs, is the fact that by episode 10 the main characters all seem to be a little TOO honest with their feelings. If this was one or two characters, fine, but everyone....? Maybe this will change.....

there are some things about this show that I enjoy and some things that I don't. it hasn't stopped me from quitting it, but I am only on episode 10. I am hoping the pros continue to outweigh the cons.

She took off her coat, then her tunic, then her undergarment, and
stepped into the clear water.
She lowered herself and found that the hot water came up to her neck.
Only now did Fengjiu let out a comfortable sigh. She looked at her palm
and saw that many Sal petals had drifted in with the wind. She gathered
them up and began to string them into a strand. Suddenly, she heard
rustling sounds behind the large boulder.
Fengjiu's petal-gathering hands froze mid-air.
A slight ripple moved across the clear water surface, breaking the reflection
of the moon. A figure in white emerged from behind the boulder in the middle of the spring. Fengjiu ceased her breathing as she saw that figure
wading the water and increasingly nearing closer. At last a tall person
emerged from the mist, with long silver hair and a handsome countenance.
Fengjiu leaned against the rock wall. Even though she had always been
thick-faced, this was definitely an embarrassing situation. Her face
blanched white. But being Qingqiu’s queen, she quickly regained
composure and considered saying hello to him.
But how to say hellos in this situation was also an art in itself. Had she
been here to look at the flowers, she could've asked him, “What great
weather we have today. Is Your Majesty also here to enjoy the flowers?”
But how could she raise her naked arm up to ask him, “What great weather
we have today. Is Your Majesty also here to take a bath?”
While Fengjiu miserably pondered over what to say, Donghua leisurely
walked to the other side of the bank without bothering to glance once at
her.
Fengjiu thought to herself that perhaps Dijun didn't see her. Then she
hadn't really lost face in front of him, had she?
She was about to heave in secret relief when Donghua Dijun had stopped
short of going back on shore and in an instant, slid his cloak over her body.
At that exact moment, Fengjiu heard someone's voice from nearby. It
sounded like Lord Liansong, who was awkwardly laughing. “Dear me, I'm
so sorry. I saw nothing, nothing at all. I'm leaving now.”

Any secondary couples I may love? I want to give this a try but sometimes I need more than one couple to be incouraged…
if you want romance try fu yao there are multiple couples in it i did not like the main storyline but kept watching for the sub plots which are not 'simultaneous' like eternal love but linear as in you wrap up one arc completely move on to the next

Up to episode 11 and sadly this series doesn't seem to be getting better? The first few episodes were mildly interesting,…
i agree with you that the plot isnt as strong as other dramas but i do think it is a rare exception where the chemistry allows me to overlook this but understand why others might not get past the writing--it does embrace several tropes and isnt anything unique but i just really like the two leads in this one

my advice for you is to read the book completely, then you will understand the whole Aranya thing. I admit, when…
the Arayna Arc is very interesting and is probably the reason why the two develop a slim fate; it fits with the the theme of three lives/three worlds and is really sad

I did not like the writing for this show I don't think it has to do with the acting I just think that the abilities of the actors are limited by the script and direction and so it isn't that great of a show
On Legend of Fu Yao Dec 1, 2018
Finally finished it--I give it somewhere between a 6.5 and a 7 but settled on a 7. I felt like the flaws could not outweigh the pros (i wrote a review). I liked the Veng Gao arc the most, I saw a lot of improvements in his acting and thought his arc was most enjoyable because of the momentum and the growth and transformation in the main characters. My biggest complaint with the show is that we are given very little reason to cheer on Fuyao and Wuji because we are given no real reason to cheer them on because other than the ONE barrier at the end, they basically have a smooth love line in addition to the fact that the two never encounter anything that causes them to grow or change. An example to compare it to would be Eternal Love; aside from the obstacles they must overcome together, BQ in Eternal Love is a badass but her flaws are apparent and reveal her shortcomings. Fu Yao has no flaws. Wuji has no flaws. They are too perfect. When the female lead is that perfect and beautiful and the male lead is that handsome and perfect of course they are going to love each other.
