I didn't think he was a homophobe - he's just frustrated that his love interest is obsessed wih a gay man.

But I had trouble with all the characters, too - especially because they're all dressed the same.

Yes, that's a perfect analysis. Rape is morally preferable to a woman or man seeking and enjoying penetrative sex. It's grotesque. Also, while there are tops & bottoms, it isn't always exclusively that way, and it has nothing to do with personality, i.e. the bottom isn't always feminine and the top masculine.

I think I menioned that I dated a violinist who was terrified of moths, was as useless as a BL uke (except at violin), was 10 years younger than me, 6 inches shorter, and would pound the sh#$ out of me and was totally unwilling to consider bottoming. Another bf was 6'2" (188 cm) and a PE major but totally submissive. Sexual tastes and personality just aren't related.

The seme-uke model treats them as different sexes. Two semes can't date, nor can too ukes. It's inconceivable. Can anyone name a single BL where this has happened? Even in the case of Fiat, who was a seme in TT2, he was transformed into the Ur-uke in Don't Say No.

When I was reading the comments, everyone wanted Pan to get everything he wants - Pan is the most horrible person on this show! He deserves to die alone. Seng is amazing and plays him perfectly, but yuck, what a narcissistic monster. At least his managed is openly evil, and not pretending to be anyhing else. I love Seng - he adds new meaning to the word "reptilian". He looks like he's about to unhinge his jaw and devour anyone who gets in his way.

I loved the director taking advantage of Pan trying to kiss up to the producer by making him go get a ton of drinks.

And the secondary couple's kiss - the way the music built up to that incredibly lame kiss - it was just perfect. It lampooned the typical bad kiss but ramped it up, not so much that it was OTT, but just enough to make me laugh.

I like that you keep it real with your reviews. I too am shocked by all these great reviews. I don't have a problem…
Thank you! I think maybe some viewers are more actor-centric, and others more plot-centric. I need a coherent story, and even though I really like this cast, it's not enough. Other people are here for specific actors, and it doesn't matter to them how terrible the story is. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, but why can't we have both? When we do, like for ITSAY, it's really something special.
On My Freaky Love Story Sep 11, 2022
Hmm. This series is getting a little disappointing. I'm not sure who the audience is meant to be - if it's a BL audience, it needs BL, other than cliches like pinky swears and bumping into each other and staring in each others' eyes for 10 minutes, or seeing and misunderstanding a hug.

Absolutely nothing happened to advance the story this episode. It's a good thing the cast is pretty.

Pavel's default is to look really really good. You have to work hard to make him not look really really good.

I think you pretty much got everything that I picked up on in this ep and series. It is fantastically lazy writing…
And the thing is, they got a huge number of fun cameos, which would have been a delight in a well-written series, but now it just makes me roll my eyes. Even Perth - it was delicious to have him as a villain, but nope, it was all a ploy? Ugh.

This is one of the worst squandered opportunities I've seen in a long time. I think Jimmy is good - it's hard to tell in this mess. Maybe Sea is good too - can't tell. Maybe someday they'll be in something decent together.

Man, I feel like I wrote this review; I'm flabbergasted by the sheer number of great reviews for this show, oh…
You know, it's funny, but I forgot I dropped this and watched the latest episode. Which in fairness I must say had a bit less product placement, but even less plot movement.

Review On Cloud Nine Spoiler
In the second episode, the reason Tiew doesn't recognize Mork is because Mork addresses him too familiarly and not respectfully as an elder, so he pretends not to know him. It's that Thai pronoun thing. That's why Mork claims to have "won" - because Tiew "broke" first and admitted he knew Mork. This was quie confusing and would have been impossible to translate without translator notes.

Finally I can watch it, but I just want to know is it a happy ending or a tragedy one?
It dends on what you mean by "happy", but it's definitely not a sad ending, and I felt really good afterwards. Just be prepared for confusion - what's going on isn't completely clear until the end.

I can't continue this - I have to demote it to "scan for shirtless scenes." It was the piggy-back ride that killed it. When a story is contorting the plot just to contain tired tropes, you know it's time to give up.

Here's and example of why the writing is bad. It is a selfish impulse for Puen to want to stay in this universe - but also understandable given what he has to go back to.

But Talay is awful and narcissistic. If you're in love with someone, when they tell you how they feel, do you a) say "I should never have wasted my time on you." or b) should you be concerned about the causes of his obvious distress and depression and try to love and support him?

If you're Tun, do you a) Try to discuss the issue with the man you love or b) abandon him without even leaving a message to go hide on an island somewhere?

This was a manufactured crisis in order to produce a manipulative making up scene - and yet another piggy-back ride.

A series can have fantasy element, even a crazy one. One of the main pair can be a ghost, merman, they can be stuck on a planet with hostile aliens, it doesn't matter. But there are two crucial rules: 1) People must act like people, and not do whatever is needed to drive the plot, i.e. a story needs to be character-driven, not plot driven. Good writing is integrating consistent and fully-realied characters with the story; 2) Don't introduce a premise and then totally ignore it except to throw in silly things like people staring at candles until they go out. On cotton candy, which is flammable.

Is there anything about the story that really needs the premise to work? They could just as well acually BE Tess and Tun trying to make a moviee. It would make no difference.

The plot is a big mess - it goes in all sorts of directions and the characters are dragged along and do whatever is needed to create set pieces the author has in mind rather than being a coherent whole.

And frankly, the acting isn't strong enough to hold it together. It's not terrible, but not enough.

1. I believe most of us don't watch this on illegal sites, because it's FREE and AVAILABLE on the GMM YouTube…
I don't htink you understand how the world works. Or how people work. Nothing is free - the production is largely financed by sponsors who get product placements in the show, and the amount of money they pay is dependent on the expectation of viewers.

The more views, the more the sponsor pays. So the production company needs to produce a product that people want to watch. A site like this reflcts on whether or not people like it.

In any case, this is a community where we share ideas, which means expressing an opinion. If you're so bothered by hearing people's opinions, why are you reading them?

Are you saying that nobdy should ever express an opnion of anything unless it's positive?

OK, fine, here goes: Vladimir Putin has provided a wonderful opporunity for Ukraine to improve its architecture, and provided the medical profession with unprecentented opportunity to gain valuable experience.

Get real.

I'm probably just being hopeful because I don't want the story to be that predictable. Most likely Seeiw will overhear Sand (because it's always overhearing) saying he has a mother and it was easy to manipute Seeiw to get money, Eeiw will run crying, Cake will find out and punch Sand and then get in trouble.

Cake will yell at Seeiw who will cry then they'll make up, and somehow it will involve a piggy-back ride. They'll be as happy as happy can be, the IT WILL ALL GO TO HELL. I don't know why Cake will leave. Maybe he applied for some school on a whim or his father will get transferred, or maybe he gets framed by Sand and has to leave. Probably not, because Sand will probably apologize and be completly forgiven, because, well, Thai BL.

Anyway, Cake will leave and Seeiw will cry and sulk, and cry some more. I imagine there will be a montage of happy times spent together set to a sappy ballad.

Does that sound about right?

Why do you think Sand is a freeloader? One time he had no money - and that was after he bought Sieew meat, which…
I thought that scene was to show Sand's family is struggling. Sand wasn't in the preview, and BLs lean very heavily on misunderstandings. Cake obviously has a problem with Seeiw hanging out with Sand and he may be predisposed to assume anything that goes wrong is his fault.

If Sand is bad that would be very disappointing, because then th seme can sense danger from someone he hasn't met while the uke is blind to it, further stripping Seeiw of agency and making him useless without a seme to run his life for him. The only agency he's ever shown is going back to finish watching The Love of Siam, which greatly upset him because it wasn't an uke-supervised action.

The summary says Cake goes abroad - that's what I'm going on.

Selfish people generally won't burden themselves taking care of three kids, and he really seemed to enjoy them, and Seeiw. Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but BL is so formulaic that someone in Sand's position is usually a villain, so the audience have been trained to see him that way.

I think what that scene with the ice cream was supposed to demonstrate was that Sand's family is struggling. If I wanted to sponge off someone, I wouldn't pick someone as poor as Seeiw - I'd worm my way into the life of someone who could really help, like what's-her-name & Tol in Triage.

That was the first episode I liked - the others were OK, but this one was paced pefectly. I feel like this should have been Ep 3, not Ep 5 - we spend too much time developing the themes, and the prevous 4 eps could have been condensed into two without losing anything.

But if all the rest move at the pace of this ep I'll be happy. That scene where Cake came out of the back door made him look especially beautiful. I think maybe it's that we don't often see him standing up while wearing normal clothes, and that t-shirt was flattering on him.

Why is everyone so harsh on Sand? He just likes Cake - I think maybe we're so used to the formula that we can't see outside it anymore. The poor guy is in high school but has to take care of 3 children.

I don't know in Thai culture how close relationship between "friends" are, but certainly no normal friend sleeps…
Why do you think Sand is a freeloader? One time he had no money - and that was after he bought Sieew meat, which I'm sure is more expensive than icecream. I think the story there is that his life is difficult with hi father struggling to make ends meet having to raised 4 children by himself. I think Sand is just the alternate love interest who will be with Sieew when Cake goes overseas.

It seems to me that Cake is the user. He wants his girlfriend but he also wants to own Seeiw and doesn't want him to have his own life. We've seen that Seeiw's character only develops when he's away from Cake.
