This is much better technically than past Xion Lim productions, and there's nothing about it that's overtly horrible, but it's boring as f@#$, The whole episode was people walking around talking - there was even a long scene of a owman talking on a phone. I found myself skipping large portions of it.
I suppose it's a step up that the acting is only wooden and not OTT or insincere, and there's no f@#$ing dog. But let me guess: Lim has taken in interest in horses. Sigh.
Damn. The acting in this is so good. The sadness in Kohei is so palpable. And Taichi could have been 2-dimensional, but he's so layered. This is the best BL airing right now, I think.
This is awful. I like looking as Mos, and I like the secondary couple, but they're hardly in it.
That jewelry thing was way too predictable - they shouldn't have telegraphed it like that. It would have had more mystery to it if we didn't know what had happened.
I have to laugh because I pretty much wrote the same thing about Bank's character before seeing your post right…
I'm glad I'm not alone, because I've seen people praise Bank's wardrobe. Maybe it's a generational thing, but if you're going to go feminine, then go all out - don't put on a clownish woman costume. I can't wait until the loose clothing fad ends. Ugh.
Hmm. I like this, but there are a couple of things - first, way, way too many flashbacks to things we've just seen. Second, that accidental kiss was stupid, contrived, and didn't fit the story. Third, why is Vee outraged that San had him investigated when he just had San investigated?
For that last, they may have had misleading subtitles - it's one thing to ask around the neighborhood about someone, and another to dig up his police record.
On the positive side +100 points for casting that kid, who simply IS San as a child. On a technical level, this is so-so - some of the cinematography is good, but the sound is not.
I'm finding Daou incredibly hot in this. He's not really my type (that would be his personality in Offroad's body), but I find myself just staring at him. Is it just me, or is he stunning? I would think my attention woudl be on Offroad, but not when Daou is onscreen.
I don't know what to write about this series, there are only 5 episodes so far, but I don't think I like it. English…
I had the same reaction. Maybe not so much uncomfortable as having that feeling when you've just stepped on a snail.
Lin's clothing is horrible. Black shoes with white slacks can work, but the heels, and that awful bow on his shirt. I don't think silk is a problem in an Asian climate - and effeminate clothing can sometimes work, but not when it looks like a middle-aged bank clerk.
As for Sun, I wish they had shown what he would really look like after cleaning a filthy apartment in a black suit.
Pim really was hovering too close to Prim just to serve her coffee. IRL we call that sexual harassment 🙄
Pim is not in a role of power over Prim, so I don't think it's harassment. It's just weird. If Prim tells her to stop, which she more or less did, and Pim continues, it would be harassment.
That was... awful. Even Mos's bare torso and porcelain skin couldn't save that.
Do people who write these scripts know that we're BL fans, and want to see guys in love? Not a thinly disguised girl who calls her bf "dad" - hold on, I think I'm going to barf - OK, I held it in.
Bank's wardrobe is awful - it's not just effeminate, it's middle-aged secretary. The ring was a woman's, not a man's. And come on - you think Sun will still look immaculate after cleaning a dirty apartment in a black suit? Why didn't he just take his shirt off? He said he wanted to make Lin feel happy - that would certainly work for me.
But worst of all, when this wasn't the highest dose of cringe I've ever received, it was just boring as f@#$. Cute fluff is guys dressed as clowns touching noses, not this dreck. Ugh. What a disappointment. I'm not sure MosBank works - the Mos half is working for me, but Bank... I don't know if it's his fault or the writing is so bad that there's nothing he can do with his limp, dull character.
It's like Frank and Li Long Shi - on paper it should work, but it doesn't.
That was really boring, but it did provide a glimpse into Drake pairing with Title - that would be a nice series.
Something's missing from Great & Inn - maybe it's just that their relationship is written so static and there's not much for them to go on - but it's Ep 11, and Dee is still acting like a Victorian virgin whenever Yak tries to kiss him. After they've had kinky sex 1,000 times.
The English section was Grade A cringe. To be fair, it would be hard to locate an American built like that to play the role, but they could have had him speak accented Thai instead of having an accent thicker than Yak's.
This isn't really a criticism, but why don't people spoon when they sleep in BL? Youi'd last about 30 seconds face to face with someone breathing into your face like that - especially as the night wears on and the breath doesn't exactly improve. Even spooning it can get annoying if they're aimed so their breath is hitting your neck. Plus, spooning is cuter than the awkward face-to-face pose where they always have a meter between their bodies but are still hugging somehow.
In the cast section in here says ep 11 only so I guess that was it.
Possibly - the info here is "real time" - whoever updated it can only put "ep 11" because that's all he's been in so far. So we can't count him out yet. For example, whoever updated Title doesn't seem to care about Luke because he's not been updated to include ep 11.
The age of consent in China is 14. Not every country has the same age of consent as ours. Japan and Korea are…
No, it's literally what someone would say when someone is imposing their own culture's standards on another culture. Muslims & Jews find pork disgusting and sinful - most Westerners don't. That doesn't mean pork-eating Westerners are disgusting, it means they have different cultural standards.
There's a big difference between 12 and 15. 12 is likely pre-pubescent, 15 is likely not.
I think you may have misread the legal age in Korea - it's 13, provided the partner is under 19, and completely legal at 16. I personally would find it disturbing if a 19 year old dated a 13 year old, but it wouldn't really bother me too much if it was 19 and 15, although to me 15 is pushing it. 15 and 15 wouldn't bother me even slightly.
I think there's a more or less international consensus that 16 is the lower limit. There is one country that has 12 (for girls, 13 for boys), which is Sudan, a handful of 13 & 14, althogh China is a huge % of the world's population, several minor countries that have 15, and then it's fairly evenly split between 16 & 18.
I feel sorry for the actors who have worked hard just to receive bad reviews from people who have WORST TASTE…
The scipt and editing are almost as important as the acting. If the story is bad and the editing disjointed and confusing, that's a very good reason to drop something. I might stick with something if an actor resonates strongly for me, but in general I won't watch something boring or badly written - not necessarily because I won't give it a chance, but rather because I forget the series is airing.
Was that so hard? Putting in a fall/catch that makes sense and is a critical plot element instead of just a box to check. That was a great scene, and a great entrance.
TBH, I found the first part tedious, although I can see why it was needed. But Daou and Offroad have what I like to call "it". What a great pairing, and the actors don't hold back, which makes all the difference.
The tag "older man/younger man" makes me feel tired. Yes, technically San is 100+ years older than Vee, but I really don't think that counts here.
Umm, so Offroad. Been spending some time in the gym, I suspect. Last time I saw him, he was a twink - now he's bara.

That's in general, not specific to this series.
