there won't be enough puppies in the world for you to kick in order to restore balance to the universe...
Yes, I agree it's too late.
On SaifahZon Story Dec 12, 2020
OK, so I'm not at all a fan of fluff and fanservice, but I'm 100% all in for this. These two are terminally cute together. I almost feel like I need to kick a puppy to restore balance to the universe before it implodes with cuteness.

The acting has improved - there were a couple of clunkers in there, but overall much better. Zol was a standout.

I'll try to make the chronology clear, since this Special is a compilation of scenes that are missing from the…
My interpretation was that Zol DID delete the story, in order to demonstrate that Zon & Saifah's feelings have nothing to do with the novel but are real - and they pranked Zon so he would understand his own feelings - the loss and emptiness he felt when Saifah "forgot" him.

OK, I'm enjoying this but there are way, way too many characters. Have we ever even seen the two high school kids at the pool? I thought it was a flashback at first, but I really don't know who they are, or why I should care? Especially since they did the tired and overused fall-and-have-faces-too-close-and-stare-awkwardly-long thing.

There are parts I'm playing on 2x because they're about things I don't care about because I can't keep track of everyone.

Anyway, I'm sure I'm in a minority, but I prefer this Ming-Kit to the other one, so I'm engaged in that story. The Wayu situation is too bizarre to think much of. Why do they keep mentioning Pha if he's not in this (other than shots of the back of his head)?

Homophobia in characters is fine - it's the homophobia of the series itself that's the issue.
As another gay guy, that scene you referenced wasn't just a predatory gay man, but an effeminate predatory gay man, which is a particularly noxious homophobic trope. They already hire all straight-acting actors for the roles, and I don't think anyone has actually used the word "gay" to describe themselves - other than the guy Ton roughed up.

The whole premise of the show depends on everyone hiding who they area from Ton because they're afraid he'll beat them - how is that OK? And yet Chon is still into him, which is self-loathing and pathetic. Yes, they don't generally paint Ton's homophobia as a hood thing, but his horrendous behavior is also not portrayed as particularly bad.

Oh, that makes sense too. I think she was crying because of Vee, but that's possible as well. I tried using the translator for the Latin, and it basically looked like what the subtitles said. I suppose it could be that she's just evil and messing with Vee - but I think at least judging by the soundtrack that Catholic = evil, magic & gay = good. Vee & Jennifer are both messed up for trying to force people to love them. Maybe for Vee it's not quite the same because he's so sheltered and naive he didn't think through what they were doing, but Jennifer is acting with premeditiation.

You don't have to be ashamed for liking it. It's brilliant - I love it.
We're watching a show about a boy who likes a boy who may not like him back so he gets the boy's sister who is a witch to cast a love spell but she tricks him into a spell to love her instead even though we know it won't work out that way. We're wayy beyond shame.

Notice the music when Vee is talking to Sister, and the music when he's fantasizing about his night with Dong (I love that that's his name, BTW). Sister gets Satanic music, gay sex gets angelic music - there's even a harp. The commentary on the Church is not very subtle, but I love that kind of detail.

The episodes are way, way too short. They should all be 24 hours long and there should be an episode per day. I can't believe this show hasn't been hyped at all - it's my favorite BL at the moment.

What's with the 7.2 rating? Majority of the comments here is positive. Anyway, it's too early to judge it since…
Usually a series starts really high and then declines as more people watch it. This is going in the opposite direction - it's at 7.7 as I write this. I love this show. Like really love it.

Perhaps?!? She 110% certianly has feelings for him. She cried when he told her he liked her brother and then tricked him into a magical ritual to bind him to her!

The breakfast scene is not going to be for everyone - but the slow realization by one character of the implications of what they've done and the equally slow realization by the other character of what the first character was thinking - all 100% wordless - was stunning and masterful acting. (Sorry, avoiding spoilers there with that convoluted sentence.)

This is not a perfect show - it has a lot of extraneous attempts at zaniness and humor that fall flat and only use up time (although maybe it will all suprise us by being crucial to the plot), but the central story is brilliantly executed and is worth watching. The guys are smokin' hot, and while the first couple of eps were not shy about exploiting their bodies (not that I mind), that's not really what this is about.

I wonder if the sexualized scenes were a statement in themselves - this was the male gaze on the male body, as opposed to "standard" BL, which has none of that sensibility - in fact it's widely resented if present (maybe that's why this is currently rated 6.4), or mainstream media, which is still largely about the male gaze, but exploiting the female form, but with a power imbalance that often feels misogynist.

In any case, when it came down to actual sex, the love scene made it clear that they went biblical without being prurient and exploitative, which was surprising but tasteful and artistic.

That breakfast scene was an acting master class! Both actors taking us on a long, wide-ranging emotional journey,…
I thought this was soft-core porn until this episode - but holy cow, that was some acting going on there! The breakfast scene was both unique and amazing. This show deserves way higher than a 6.4! But BL audiences broadly want to reduce gay men into fetishized desexed teddy bears who do cute things together. Actual sexuality is generally not accepted.

But maybe that's what BL is - formulaic live-action manga written by women and aimed at young women and girls. I wonder if maybe a lot of Filipino BL really isn't BL - maybe it's really LGBTQ+ programming. That seems to be the case here, and as we can see, it's been rejected by the larger audience. Well, I love it and am with it to the end.

Sorry for the rant.

While I understand why some people got offended with what appeared as queer misrepresentation and oversexualization…
Wait, what? What queer misrepresentation? And as for oversexualizaton, it's just sexualization, and I don't think objections are valid. Almost all BLs are DEsexualized to the point of homophobia or at least are aimed at pre- and early teens.

Anyway, this took a hard turn away from whatever it was into something that looks more like a play - which is not a problem. The acting in Ep 4 was really, really good, and the love scene did an excellent job of portraying pretty full-on sex without it being prurient. Not that I mind prurient.

I think I may have an advantage over you here - I had two Furry roommates for several years, so the bunny thing seems incredibly tame compared to things I can't unsee that happened in my living room. I did have a mild cringe at that last face-painting though. At least the portrait wasn't bunny themed, although tht night have been hilarious.

I had to start ff through parts to get through it, but it did have its moments. For me it more like room-temperature milk. And I'm lactose intolerant.
I love this - it's so natural and realistic - I remember being that shy when I was that age.

Also, the pacing is perfect, the cinematography is beautiful, and it looks like someone in the production understands the way music works. I wish it wasn't so short!

It would have been funny and charming if he were just totally clueless, but he's a horrible person. Not really…
I don't disagree with you. I'm actually fine with the cluelessness - that's not really a moral problem. But the bullying is not cluelessness, it's a serious character flaw and moral failing, and it's objectionable that the writer did not portray it as a negative thing - instead it was "romantic".
