Really slow setup for the main storyline. The school segment is quiet long and you don't get to know much about the characters that couldn't be revealed in a one minute flashback.
Just saw that this is a 10ep show so maybe by the 8ep they bumped with each other in the subway.
I guess this is kind of a cat and mouse scenario between boys and girls but saddly the "boys" are worse than rats. Even shooting a ball to a woman head is just a "fun game" ???
Glad to hear that someone is willing to discuss the quality of the scripts. But, by judging some recent dramas, sadly this is an exception and not the norm. I refuse to believe that the producer who read the script for the firsts episodes of When the stars Gossip was convinced that they had a masterpiece on their hands. They didn't care about the quality of the story because they already had big names for the project. And the result is a massive flop. Just hope that the script quality gains more value in future dramas.
Why so many kdramas storylines and concepts are becaming so outlandished and unhinged? I get that this show is on a galaxy on it´s own in the cringe universe, but lately i droped several other much-anticipated shows (When the phone rings, Tale of Lady OK, Motel California) because of absurd storylines and plot twists, poor character development and cringe humour. Even light romcoms are becoming infected with so much cringy storylines and humour, like the first episode of Brewing Love, one of the weirdest that i saw last year. And now, we get 16 episodes of a show where each episode is breaking the cringe meter...
Gone drop this one. My FF button as seen to many action in this drama. Don't really care for this makjang vibe with too many narrative mood swings. So this is gone be the first Lee Se-young drama that i will droped since Red Sleeve. Not all of her dramas were so good has this masterpiece but at least they don't have so many WTF moments with cringe humor, fat suits, inchoerent time jumps and sudden cuts between atmosferic scenes to all out cheesy "funny scenes".
The first ep was good. Didn't care for some options, like the slighty comic fat suit, but the FL workplace storyline was enganging and well written. But, the second ep story lacks balance. I don't get why so many narrative mood swings and so many characthers appear out of the blue and without context. One scene its atmosferic and nostalgic, then the next its like some "funny" kids show with some weird youtube like animation effects. The final reveal scene on the hotel is absurd how they cut to a camp rock concert all of the sudden. Is this on the verge of becoming a makjang show...
This is a clear winner for the category "cringiest show off the year". Just look at the absurd premisse: let's shoot some chaebol heir sperm into space ...

The humor is stale and superficial, the characthers storylines are outlandish and cheesy and the director is all about style above substance, like the pointless dream like sequences. Such a big budget and so many known actors for this trainwreck off a show
I tried really hard to like this show but gave up after 6 episodes . I just wished the writting was more grounded. The storylines are becoming more outlandish and cheesy. The ML split characters are just too unreal and inchorent and the show is getting to close to a full blown makjang festival and there's more 10 ep to go.
This drama had good potencial. Two leads with some impressive dramas in their bags, like Kingdom and Live, a solid and reliable support cast and good production values. They just forgot to write an enganging story. Saddly it's all to bland and shallow and the humor too predictable.
When The Phone Rings sounded all my makjang alarms. Sorry, but its a hard pass. Fiery Priest its not perfect but its a honest goofy show and now my only weekend drama
Don't ask for much. After the end of Jeongnyeon and virtuos business, i just hope for a decent show with a solid story, relatable characters and credible acting. If not my weekend will be almost drama free. I already droped all the weekdays shows.

Everything on this show is slow. The story is on slow motion, the production is low budget and even the acting is lowfi. The FL is pretty but she needs a little more experience because she almost has no presence on screen and her narration voice is too monotone.
Now i get the weird poster after ep1. This show must have been a nightmare for the marketing team. This as a vibe of "end of days" romance and they tried to promote as light fun comedy show with a cute couple on the run of some silly mobsters
Very good start. Is still goofy and funny with a fast paced and entertaining story with enganging characters played by good actors having fun. They could tone down the shouting and banter on some scenes but i endured much worse in kdrama and it wasn't on comedy shows.
In a previous post, i was to hasty in branding this show and Todays Webtoon as both mediocre. After a more carefull ponderation and some cringe viewing of this show, i dare to proclame that todays webtoon feels like a masterpiece compared to this trainwreck.
It's hard to believe that, with an experience cast and crew, the show producers made such a mess.
Some people noticed that the suport cast is not funny. That's because the humor is very basic and the characters are complety hollow. They just shout and make weird faces. One or two ahjummas are also on Virtuous Business and they are very good in this show, because the writers and director created scenes that show their humanity and personality. They are not just screaming cardboard cutouts.
Others point that some thing feels off with the main characters. I'm gone focus only on FL. The problem is that they didn't want to spend time developing a character for this show, so they copied sejeong character from uncanny counter with some absurd results for a so called romcom. Maybe it was a deliberate choice from director or producers, but in many "action" scenes she does not seem to be in character but just performing some stunt like in some variety show showing her physical prowess. It's a shame to see actors wasting their talent with such shallow roles.
