because lots of people who watch korean dramas feel that going all over with your emotions means you are a good actor..while doing micro expressions and showing emotions through your eyes is a more respected way of acting ..it is also very hard to do it..this is also how we do in real life...her acting filmography is enough to proof she can do all when needed..her rage in arthadal Chronicles can give you goosebumps and her arrogance and childish attitude in heirs and you are beautiful can make you angry, yet when she cries you feel sorry for her. her strong attitude in fight for my way and DOTS can make you admire her while her vulnerability in my liberation notes make you root for her happiness..that's the main job of an actor to get right type of emotions from audience towards their characters..it can be hate, pity, sadness anything

dude..in Asia bosses can be very cruel and disrespectful as well..so much that they would make you cry..how she behaved in that one scene was actually quite normal..she simply asked him if they can do it or not..if not he should handle the laws ..she never asked him if they should do it on the basis of morality..she only asked his views if it is possible to do it as per laws..which is his expertise..let me tell you position hierarchy is very serious in Asia and your position and limits are also important..At-least she did not raises her voice on him and call him words

that's how you feel, I feel that a personal relationship is one thing and a professional is another thing..she is her boss and CEO of the company, and she has all right to act like one in the office. Regarding her family, well they don't even talk nicely to her, and egoist, bold of you to assume they would talk nicely to him..yet I feel FIL is nice, the mother needs some therapy and her brother needs to grow up..she can't even take her stand fully in front of her parents..but she makes sure that her brother respects him..though that child-man is a lost cause.

I also agree their HW reasons for divorce are genuine..the thing is as a woman It makes me feel that this is actually the experience of so many women around the world specially Asia..where they have to sacrifice being a daughter to act as a daughter-in-law, where they feel not being fully embraced as a family member even after giving so much, where they feel that their spouses are not standing that much for them, where they don't feel equal in a relationship. That's the reality of so many women and sadly we are soft=wired to think it is normal and expected..very few actually go for a divorce on the basis of such reasons..they all just live and survive. Maybe this series also subtly giving such messages.
I think lots of people re agreeing that both are at fault..the root cause is mis-communication . What I feel is that she broke after loosing her child after loosing her brother, her mother gas lighted her to think it is her fault. it is also clear that she thinks that she is at fault to loose her child as well, and she has no right to cry and feel sorry about herself. She can also be acting strong to not make HW feel that bad about her , which she is doing after getting to know her illness as well..she is afraid but don't want to show it to her husband ..I think this nature if her is connected to her mother and childhood trauma. The think is she was also disappointed in her marriage, also feeling sad and lonely yet she chose to hang in as long as she can. I think that it is the fact that he was going to divorce her and decided to act or lovey and dovey after getting to know she is ill and kind of being happy about it left wrong taste. Also initially I used to see lots of criticism against female lead as well..it has nothing ot do with her being female..but after seeing her POV and male leads action after getting to know about her illness..people began to dislike him more as a person..mis-communication, hiding true feelings are on both sides but being happy and pretending to be a good husband again was the red flag for some fans..I am judging him as a human..and after falling out of love and considering about his own well-being..it is not entirely his fault to feel that her dying would be the safest option for him

I feel that showing some snippets here and there feels like a faded memory. Even as a viewer it feels like a memory from past. We are watching their POV of falling in love in the form of past memory, where they are acting an an anchor and it is also connected to how they are feeling right now and then it triggered certain memories.
what they are feeling right now, what they are experiencing right now actually triggers all these past memories, it acts like you are watching them saying/feeling and experiencing something..and then the drama shows their past memories which contradicts their current situation and makes you think, their situation is indeed bad.

yeah..I mean she should consider doing some indie or melo Korean movies..actors with her way of acting are appreciated a lot in Korean movies. Though I am happy to see that people are appreciating for her drama acting as well.

Kim Ji Won is so good with micro-expressions..which is so rare in kdramas..I feel that she should consider doing some Chinese Movies with Slice of Life or melodramatic plotlines..Chinese movies love to cast actors with good commands on micro-expressions or she should also starts to do some melo Korean movies..

from my observation on comments on insta or even here..lots of k-drama fans prefer characters to be white, they don't feel comfortable with grey or black characters.
Hate to see any sort of personality default or selfishness in MLs and just enjoy one -sided stories of two people instead of stories having multiple complex and serious characters with faulted personalities.

the purpose is not to show how they fell in love..but actually how they fell out of love after marriage and trying to reconcile while facing of so many issues. You can still guess from some flashbacks that they fall while working as interns. Their communication is bad but how they reached this position is unveiling slowly..we now know the root cause.

after watching her interviews and what she said about the popularity ...I feel that she is someone who never allows compliments to reach her head.
Very few idols can accept and say that they can be replaced by another idols and it is okay and natural..very few
She is one of those idols which tells me that she is actually a mature person and can think without clouding her thoughts from opinions of others.

true...in all these dramas, the situation is like it is almost impossible for two leads to stay together..but in last few minutes we get to see them happy and together..I don't know how to say it but I always feel like it those scenes are more like a dream and what viewers want ..you can feel happy by seeing those scenes but it feels very surface level.

I love to watch her interviews tbh..along with Rose's ..also have seen her in few reality shows ..she is natural and funny. I actually never find her awkward but kind of funny yet mature person who never tries to act act or cringe..I have created this opinion after watching her several interviews and 3-4 shows.
I am not Korean so can't comment on the delivery..but I have seen some Koreans actually able to understand..only few comments were like this..those who just live to find fault in idols.
Again it was her 1st lead role..she is average and with time and good directors , I am sure she can be good..but I am also sure haters will continue to act as an acting expert while praising mid actors and will continue to nit-pick everything she does..so I don't take them seriously.

I am not that sure of a happy ending..swing kids had no happy ending. The thing is she creates a situation where happy endings are not realistic..her characters also move on in their path..but add just 1 scene to give us happy ending..you can see it as a happy ending or just a dream

how she treats him? it is now obvious both of them are not affectionate towards each other..both don't take stand for each other...but she stood for him against her brother..parents and grand-parents are beyond her league of control.
In office their are employee and employer , not husband and wife.
also still I support his reasons for a divorce..if he feels suffocation he has all right to divorce...but let's not forget what his reasons are ..it is reality of 60-70 % women.

I am sorry but how she treats him like garbage? She literally took a stand for him against her brother..while it is obvious now that he never took a stand for her.
In the office she treats him like an employee below him..they are not husband and wife in the office.
her family is not good even to her..so she does what she can do..her illness also played a major role in the way how she treats him but it is also now very clear he is not a very affectionate husband as well.
I also feel sorry for him..and I am okay if he wants a divorce because of it..but imagine if all those wives who also get such treatment from their in-laws began to get a divorce.. but sadly women are soft-coded that it is normal for us to sacrifice being a daughter to act as a daughter -in -law...to not expect that in-laws will fully accept them as a member of the family like their son or daughter, their vies will be respected and their husbands will stand up against their parents to support them..

I maybe wrong..but I find it kind of realistic..way too much to be comfortable with..a very dark side of marriage

I am sorry but I am sure he is not dumb enough to think that the literal CEO of a company would marry him just to clear image in media...her family is damn powerful and would throw few dollars to do that instead of marrying their daughter to a nobody..Rich people marry to expand their influence and power ..they don't give that much of importance to how people perceive them..but again maybe 3 years of frustrations made him think that way
