Thanks alot! I like longer dramas as well. I think it's becuase I'm someone that likes worldbuilding and taking long journeys with characters. I find it hard to move on from certain shows, especially standard Korean ones with 16 episodes.

太好了!I've watched The Rebel Princess and Song of Glory already! I loved those dramas. I dont mind series being long, I grew up on anime and western shows with numerous seasons so it's fine by me. As long as the dragging doesn't get too much, because I have a tendency to get irritable.

"During the Longhua period, eunuch Xiao Duo plotted with Fu Wang to help him sit on the throne. Bu Yin Lou was supposed to be buried with the late Emperor but she is rescued by Xiao Duo..."
啊我的眼睛!I thought this would be a dark drama with light romance to balance it but I'm truly offput by these comments! Maybe I'll skip this and watch a Wang Hedi compilation.
How would you rate Rise of the Phoenixes? I've watched Nirvana in Fire and loved it. Is it similar regarding court turmoil and palace scheming ?
Wow... I haven't commented on this series until now but I see the comment number at 6,718 even when it's still airing. I guess this show is really popular internationally!

I don't know if it's my sadistic meter because of all the historical Cdramas I watch...
But am I the only one who WANTS him to die? Or rather, I wouldn't feel like his death ruins the story?
This drama was tense from beginning to end as the Soonyang Family Snake kept eating itself to succeed. In a final culmination of hard effort and indescribable hatred towards him, Do Jun is able to become the Chairman. I'd be annoyed if it ended with him just getting married with a kid and smiling. It's irrational and forced. The business world is cutthroat, and so was Do Jun's past life.
My theory is the other him is the same: always tired from working so many jobs/poverty that he fell asleep at the wheel.
There was someone in the comments below who even threatened to give the show a 5/10 if there was no happy ending. Get a grip. You people who are used to romance and melodrama titles with happy/open endings have become biased. A show doesn't have to have a sunny ending to be good. These aren't shown for little kids anyways. We as adults know that the real world doesn't go how we want all the time.
Erm... Nirvana in Fire isn't here...I don't know whether to laugh or cry... ( ; _ ; )
As for The Untamed, I agree. I still feel like the hype for that drama is a bit fallacious. Putting the BL raving aside, in the beginning, the series truly was cheesy and seemed like it may have become a flop. If it wasn't for novel readers like me and rabid BL fans (who will watch anything BL to support, and rave on!!) the support for the series may have died, and it'd become C-listed.
It was only in the middle and latter half of the drama that we saw excellence. And even then, key parts from the MXTX novel (besides intimate scenes) were changed due to censorship. Such as Wei Wuxian not being the original CREATOR of Demonic Cultivation.
In any case, I feel as if this is ~very~ more modern list. There were other really good novel adaptations such as the Condor Heroes series, Story of Yanxi Palace, etc.
:D
EDIT: I was informed that there were other parts to this series, which did include NIF1. My bad. I thought the parts referenced where referring to Chinese Top 5s in general, not just novel ones. ALSO!!! FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T GET INTO THE UNTAMED, WATCH THE ANIME, MO DAO ZU SHI. It is a winderful work and came before the live action. Seasons 1-3 are available on Youtube.
I think I'm going to drop this. Not because of quality issues, the series is masterfully tackled (as most Taiwanese…
If I wanted to watch a sadistic show where a female teacher is sexually harassed by a rich student and then constantly demeaned and shamed for it, I would have searched for that genre. If I watch any longer I will DESTROY my new laptop. And I need it for work so...

I've watched all his works, I hope this series is another splash
Thanks!
I hope the cheesiness and comedy is a front
