Top or bottom is a sexual preference, I find it weird that people try to attribute those to personality characteristics.
I like it either way or somewhere in between. Like the show "To My Shore", the couple doesn't fit into the normal Top/Bottom stereotype, and I really like that.
So yes I agree with you Top/ Bottom roles shouldn't be assigned any particular personality traits.
But show creators like society (general population), have some rigid stereotypes that are often incorporated in BL shows.
Thats why there are so many cliche tropes, overused plot points. and repetitive storylines.
This is a different conversation, I apologize if you thought this was what I meant in my original post.
I think this a pretty weird thing to say . You saying because phuwin is giving masculine energy he should be a…
Your point is valud, but unfortunate. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with being a BL star. It's probably more challenging than other type of roles. Because the genre is so varied with so many intricacies and subtled differences.
Also I like to see Pond and Phuwin together, so I'm being greedy. I want my cake and eat it too.
Like I don't mind you wanting them to switch up even if I really don't see that happening anytime soon as they…
Both of them are outstanding talented actors. I think they would be fantastic in a bromance like "Untamed Hearts". Or if they were cast in a live action adaptation of "Demon Hunters". Thier energy and chemistry would work so well in that type of show. It would probably be a world wide hit show.
Also let me clarify the Alpha comment, what I was trying to convey is Phuwin has a very strong masculine personality, that shines brighter than most people around him, on top of all that energy he is extremely handsome and charismatic .
So absolutely Pond is Phuwin's only option. He is the only person that can stand next to Phuwin. Like I said in my previous post, Pond is the most charismatic actor in all of Asia. With the right opportunity Pond would become a global superstar.
Thus my suggestion that they do a bromance, so they can get on the global stage where they belong.
How would we know who's top or bottom? Heck, they could both just be into oral for all we know! Or maybe they're…
You're makibg a valid point. Most BL shows set it for the Top to pursue the Bottom. Me and Thee seems to be headed on that direction. I could be wrong. Let's see how the show develops thier relationship. I like shows were the bottom is the aggressor. Alao they already shown that Phuwin's character was dating women. So it could be a hetro turn gay scenario, which is always questionable in my opinion. But that's another subject. Lol
I know everyone is going to think I'm crazy but I'm sure that Phuwin should be the Top male in this pairing.
Phuwin is an Alpha male, he is nobody's bottom partner.
Pond is the most charming Asian actor in all of Asia. His charisma is off the charts.
But something is missing in the series because the dynamic is wrong. And the older Phuwin gets the easier it is to see that he should be the Top in any M/M pairing.
They look very stiff together. Thier normal fluid but gelled charm is missing, because Phuwin can nolonger pull it off.
They look too polished becuase it's just an act and it realky shows in this series. The chemistry is not firing like it has in previous shows. And it will not unless they change the relationship dynamic.
It could be the storyline and Phuwin's character, but I think it is deeper than that, because I can see it in thier concerts and engagements.
There is still plenty of time for the show to turn it around.
I hope it gets better because I love both of them and they are so talented.
Yes a clear vision of the show was missing, they tried to do both (folklore & BL) but failed :)
The story was disjointed. The actors chemistry was not believable. Also the Goblin tale is too detailed and intricate to tell in 12 30 minute episodes.
One thing i never get is why don't japanese bl doesn't get hype like thai or chinese bl drama? Because japanese…
This is just my opinion: Most Japanese Bl shows are just average. The storylines can be very frustrating to watch, when the main issue is a lack of communication, To many of the adult characters act like children, which is a turnoff if you like adult themed BL shows. Also most of the NC and kissing scenes are poorly done. These scenes are so bad they should just leave them on the editing floor. Lol. There are some exceptional Japanese Bl series and you named most of them but more shows that are just ok. Like I stated this is just my opinion but based on the numbers and reviews, I think many people agree.

Good communication is an art. Hindsight is 20/20.

I'm talking about the personality and characteristics, that make each of them so likable, the reason why they are professional entertainers.
As a fan I would love to see both of them have an opportunity to showcase thier talents to the entire world.
A Broramce Show would be the best opportunity for that to happen.
Think about famous Bromance shows like "Beverly Hills Cops", "Bad Boys" or "Rush Hour". These are just examples. It doesn't have to be a cop show.
They would be great in a Sherlock Holmes type of who done-it. With comedy, action, and mystery.
Now that would be a great type of show for them.
